An epicondylitis strap - NYMT

I don't know how it works, but with pains from my forearm, my elbow, and up to my upper arm it seems to work. I usually need it for a few days and then the pain subsides.

Was having horrendous pain in my upper arms into my shoulders - RubyTuesday

And I finally figured out that the aggravating cause (I do about 50% VR and 50% standard transcription) was my KEYBOARD. I'd had it for some time and the keys were getting sticky and had to be pressed extremely hard in order to "take." Because this had happened over a cumulative period of time, I never realized how ridiculously hard I had to pound on the keys while typing until I used a friend's keyboard and felt the amazing difference. I just picked up a reasonably-priced basic non-ergo keyboard made by Dell with an extremely light touch and, presto, no more pain!
Good luck to you...It's excruciating having to work when your arms, shoulders, back or neck feel like they are on fire!

Definitely change positions, different chair, keyboard, keyboard in your lap -- something you are doing is causing this and its not particularly the typing part, its positioning.
Shoulder pain fix. - a1

I opted to go to physical therapy for mine. They showed me things I needed to do different to fix my posture even when I was doing things other than typing, and they gave me some exercises to do to strengthen my anterior serratus that wasn't doing its part in supporting my posture.

My son gave me one for Christmas two years ago and it took a bit of adjusting to get used to (couple days) and I had terrible pains in arms, neck, shoulders, elbows, hands, etc. It has helped a lot. Also using the tennis elbow strap can help and over the counter ibuprofen or Aleve. Ice and/or heat helps too, but the different keyboard is a tremendous help and they are pretty cheap on the Internet. Good luck.

Posterior Tibial Tendinitis? May 02, 2014Hello my fellow transcriptionists,
I have been having problems with my ankles for the last 2-1/2 years. It started on my right side not long after my 2nd son was born in 2011. Now, it is on the left side as well since about a year! I went to the podiatrist and he gave me some insoles for my shoes anda night splint to wear, but I am not on my feet a lot and I don't run, so I was wondering if using the foot pedal could do it. I know I have fallen arches, but since I am not ...

PainJan 25, 2010Hey, m'lovely MT sisters, I suspect I have bursitis in my right shoulder. It started as pain in my right arm biceps area and I had an odd rash in the area, so to be honest I was afraid it might have been shingles (never had them, but heard they're very painful).
Ladies, it's been about 6 weeks and it's still freakling painful, but I believe I was wrong on precisely where the pain was originating. I believe it's emanating at my right shoulder joint. I ...

Old MT/QA With PainMay 13, 2010I have been an MT/QA for 24 years. I have fibromyalgia, arthritis, have had bilateral carpal tunnel release, and I have cervical impingement. I tried a new product called Evolv enhanced water beverage which has a formula called Archaea Active. It claims to "promote a healthy inflammatory response." Honestly, I was skeptical about it, but I am here to testify that this is truly a Godsend!! It was explained to me that it increases oxygen at the cellular level and ...
Leg PainDec 05, 2013For the last couple weeks, whenever I go to bed, if I am on my back or side, I awaken several times with pain in my right calf and knee, if I turn on my stomach it goes away. Pain At The PumpMar 01, 2012Do you ever wonder why the gas prices are up and down? There is still about the same amount of gas out there (although it is a finite resouce that is going away) and we are still using about the same, more or less, with our more efficient vehicles.
The price fluctuates because the Wall Street traders can make it fluctuate. They do this so they can make money. In 2008, (Bush Administration, by the way) the prices were over $4.00 a gallon. The Obama administratio ...
Pain In ShinsJun 02, 2011Hi. I actually have a health question related to transcribing! I've transcribed for over 25 years and have had no problems other than tight neck and shoulders; no hand, wrist or arm pain. I used to get them when I started and then it went away, but lately its been getting me again especially in my upper outer thigh. Its not so much an instant leg cramp sensation, just more of a achy feeling (like if you're on a plane) that does go away after I stand up. Any suggestions?? ...

Inner Ankle PainJun 13, 2013Hi all,
For the last 2 years or so I have been suffering from right inner ankle pain. It has progressively gotten more and more painful. I have had x-rays and it shows nothing is wrong. I am pretty sure it's has to be posterior tibialis tendinitis, but now it's starting on the left ankle. When I rotate my right ankle in a circle, I can feel a popping sensation that doesn't really feel like it's bone, but it is so terribly sore. I wondered if may ...
Knee PainJun 20, 2013Have been told by orthopod that I have bone-on-bone in my right knee. He suggested surgery and gave me Tramadol for the pain. Surgery is not an option financially at this time. Any suggestions on how to deal?

Ear Itching/painNov 05, 2013I am curious if anyone has a suggestions for ear pain. I wear the earbuds that sit just inside the ear canal for work. The earphones that would sit over my ear hurt my ears on the back side when they pushed against my glasses arm.

Any suggestions would be helpful :) ...
