For the last couple weeks, whenever I go to bed, if I am on my back or side, I awaken several times with pain in my right calf and knee, if I turn on my stomach it goes away. Have been told by orthopod that I have bone-on-bone in my right knee. He suggested surgery and gave me Tramadol for the pain. Surgery is not an option financially at this time. I have been losing weight in order to take some of the pressure off. I cannot take the Tramadol and work because it makes me sleepy. Cannot take NSAIDs because of the GI side effects. I was diagnosed with arthritis in my right knee in January and I cannot believe how fast it is progressing. I now have it in both knees. Transcribing makes it really ache because of the foot pedal.
