Hip pain..again

You guys probably don't remember but I'm the person who posted about hip/butt pain a few months back.  Doc said it was bursitis, took no xrays or anything just said that was what it was.  Well fast forward to today.  i have been jogging lately...went jogging and got home and the pain in my hip was terrible.  sitting is ok but moving hurts.  I sneezed just now and my hip hurt.  Any idea what it could be? This is different from the butt/back side of my hip pain that I had prior.  This hurts more inside towards my groin and but mostly outside on the hip joint area.  I am worried about arthritis but I'm only 36.

My gut reactions is you probably pulled something... couple of verifying questions: Does it hurt to the touch or feel better if you massage the area? How old are your running shoes? What's your warm up routine like when you jog and what kind of surface do you run on? Are there any stretches that make it feel better?

Does it feel different from the pain you had before or is it just affecting a different area?

Also, if you stand on that leg alone, does the groin pain increase or stay about the same?

In the meantime, use RICE -- rest, ice, compress (that might be hard to do though), and elevate.

If you feel up to working out, don't jog for now. I'd recommend swimming, if you can, instead.

Not sure. When we first bought our house 5 years ago the door was hard to lock/unlock - I would push the door closed with that hip

Sometimes would even slam my hip up against the door to lock it. Stupid, I know. It started hurting and I eventually put 2 and 2 together and stopped doing it. It feels some better today but during shopping getting back in the car (lifting my leg up and over, i'm short and drive an SUV) to get) was nearly excruciating. UGH

I was having that kind of pain for months. Walking any distance or getting in the car (like you said) after coming out of a store was so painful. I was limping so bad, just one hip. What finally worked was shoe inserts. I have terribly flat feet and I was wearing Sketchers. I got some arch supports with heel support built in and slowly my pain went away. I have to wear them in all shoes now, or else the pain starts to come back. Good luck to you!

Sounds like an overuse or muscle pull kind of thing. It hurt after significant exertion (jogging) and worsens lifting your leg up and over to get in the car. It also hurts in the groin, supporting that.

My guess us that your jogging form is causing this. I would hold off on the jogging. Rest it, ice it, hot baths, and see what happens.

Inguinal ligament, tensor fascia lata, quadriceps insertion, or something around there, but not the joint itself.

I used to run. Hobbled around for ten years thinking my hip joint was shot. Turned out it was a tight fascia lata. Massage therapist fixed it in about 5 minutes.

Google fascia lata. Look at where it goes over the top of your leg toward your waist. There is bone under that. Think back to when you were bumping the door closed. You were smashing the FL between the door and that bone.

Now you know one place to put that ice. Google how to stretch the FL. See if that helps.

I'm once again having wrist pain in my dominant hand which is worse at the end of my shift.  I took a week off to completely rest it and it helps, but it still hurts whenever I most my thumb, at the base into the top of the radius.  Does anyone have this problem?  I had carpal tunnel surgery 10 years ago, but don't have the same numbness as I did before that surgery.  I tried switching my mouse to the left hand, but it still hurts especially whenever I use the space ...

Have been told by orthopod that I have bone-on-bone in my right knee.  He suggested surgery and gave me Tramadol for the pain.  Surgery is not an option financially at this time.  I have been losing weight in order to take some of  the pressure off.  I cannot take the Tramadol and work because it makes me sleepy.    Cannot take NSAIDs because of the GI side effects. I was diagnosed with arthritis in my right knee in January and I cannot believe how fast it is progressing.  I now have it in both knees.  Transcribing makes it really ache because of the foot pedal.  I take Vicodin but some days that doesn't help and sometimes it makes me very sleepy.  Does anyone know of anything else I can try?  This is really affecting my ability to get my line counts and therefore my income.  Thanks! ...
