Gallbladder problems

If you have had gallbladder problems will you post what they were and how the felt?

I'm going for a scan on Tues. I simply think that more than gallbladder issues are going on.

Mine is no pain. I have problems when I eat too much or something fatty (in the bathroom within an hour). I do not get nausea or anything like that. I had the HIDA scan and it showed that my gallbladder just isn't functioning (8% I think). I was told to have it out but have not done so yet (6 years now).

My mom had right upper scapula pain, had trouble lying down, and nausea. She had hers removed and VOILA, no more issues (still has the running to the bathroom after eating something fatty syndrome - they say having it removed does not help with that).

Good luck. I hope you figure out what it is. :(

When I had my GB attacks,I was nauseated, felt like stabbing pains under my right rib cage, so sore it felt someone had beaten me up on my right side to my back, threw up a lot. I had GB ultrasound and it showed sludge. I was referred to a surgeon. I had surgery and I had 10 stones. He said GB was severely inflamed. I felt instant relief after it was out. The extra gas was somewhat uncomfortable, but I used my rocking chair and kept a pillow on my tummy. I had mine laparoscopically. The only drawback for me is that I try and stay away from highly fatty foods. My doc told me to use ground up flax seed and I would need to do that for the rest of my life. I put that in smoothies, oatmeal and on food. I am sort of good with that but I do not do it everyday. When you have your GB out, the extra bile is dumped directly into your intestines. Flax swells up with the extra bile and one will have less potty accidents. It is a trade off for me because I was tired of staying sick all the time. Greasy and spicy foods would set off GB attack for me. If your GB gets really bad, it can also affect the pancreas and then it can turn really ugly. If stones are there, they can dislodge and get stuck in your ducts. My advice if your test comes back positive have it out. I did my surgery through Day Surgery.

I had my gallbladder out about 15 years ago. I had my first attack the beginning of February after drinking a cup of hot chocolate. I felt it was much worse than labor pains. They did a scan, told me there were not any stones, and sent home. I continued having pains and had to virtually sit up in bed with a pillow on my stomach because I was getting bruises from trying to push on it to relieve pain. Nothing helped the pain, no PPIs, no TUMS, nothing. WEnt to a Gen Surg and he could find nothing wrong, but gave me pain pills. I ate them like candy. Would suffer all day long until my hubs got home from work and took pain pills and went to bed and literally cried myself to sleep. Finally, they figured out I was passing stones so fast the scan could not see them. Got it removed 6 long months and 33 pounds later. At first I had problems with some food and lots of explosive diarrhea, but it settled down after a year or two. Good luck.

My Second Job And Gallbladder RemovalSep 10, 2010
Finally after several interviews I had someone take a shot and hire me for a second job!  I was thrilled about this until I found out that the training for this job is the same day as my gallbladder removal.  Now if all goes well I should be home at 1 pm and my training starts at 5:30 pm.  The good thing is that my sister is going through the same training.  So I was thinking since the first few days of training is basically just sitting on my butt I can have my sister take m ...

Nausea After Gallbladder RemovalJun 28, 2011
I had my gallbladder removed a week ago because of gallstones.  Now I have nausea daily almost all day long.  My doc gave me antinausea medication to help with this, but it makes me very sleepy, which in turn makes working difficult.  Does anyone else have this problem or know someone who does?  I would really appreciate some advice from anyone who can help me rid myself of nausea and not be sleeping all the time from medications.  Does this wear off with time?  I h ...

Post Gallbladder Surgery QuestionMar 24, 2010
Hi Fellow MTs:   I was wondering if anyone that has had their GB out has had any pain with the trocar sites that bothered them.  I am 1 month out from GB surgery and it seems as though I have more pain in one of these sites than the others.   It is a slight throbbing type pain and I have good days and bad days with some nausea, but not a lot.   Luckily I have Phenergan for nausea.    I know that some people have GB symptoms after surgery but it w ...

Need Some Advice On How To Treat A Gallbladder Attack.Oct 29, 2014
I am in the midst of an extremely bad gallbladder attack.  I've been dealing with my gallbladder for sometime now.  I had a PIPIDA done a year ago and my gallbladder EF is 13%.  I know I need to have it taken out, but I cannot afford to do it.  I have really crappy insurance with a high deductible and I just can't take the time off from work.  Usually, I get the RUQ ache that wraps around my back.  It hurts, but I deal with it, like I deal with menstrual c ...

Ear ProblemsApr 05, 2016
Does anyone else have the problem of certain outside noise frequencies causing their eardrums to vibrate or pulse really fast? This only happens when I wear my headphones. I have noise-canceling headphones and can't actually hear the sound, just feel the vibrations in my eardrums. It's only certain things for me like lawnmowers, chainsaws, four-wheelers, and some car/truck engines. Most of the time it isn't bad if whatever is making the noise is just there for a moment, but i ...

Mortgage ProblemsNov 12, 2009
Hi everyone - Anyone have any ideas about what to do with a bad mortgage, other than foreclosure I mean.  We got sold to a servicing company some time ago.  My DH decided to ask, just ask, about getting a loan modification and they automatically went ahead and did this without us filling out any paperwork.  Can you believe it!?  We tried calling and talking with them about this but got no where to say the least.  We decided to just keep paying our regular mortgage a ...

Period ProblemsMay 31, 2011
This may be too much info for some of you guys, so sorry in advance! My period is normally a very heavy flow with terrible cramps and lasts 6 to 8 days.  Lucky me, I know.  Last month it was normal (well, what I consider normal for me).  This month it was like 1 day of spotting and that was it.  I did have a bit of cramping, but this is not normal for me.  I haven't had sex in a couple months and my period last month was normal so I doubt I am pregnant. Any ideas? ...

Financial Problems - Like So ManyMar 13, 2010
Like so many right now, due to pay cuts in the last year, I am in need of any additional prayer anyone can give.  My pay has been cut nearly in half.  I don't qualify for bankruptcy because my name is on 1/4 of my mom's house.  She has early dementia and is fighting us on all fronts right now because she's in denial.  She just had another TIA and is refusing to go for an MRI or see the neurologist.  She refuses to sell the house, which she needs to do anyw ...

Husband ProblemsAug 11, 2012
I need some opinions about some of the things my husband does. Basically, I feel that he is very controlling.  He is always making remarks when he can't get me on the phone that I must be with my "boyfriend".  If my phone goes off, he'll say ask if it's my boyfriend, and it is usually just an email from work or some type of business that I have an account with.  We have been married for 16 years, and I have never cheated on him.  My best friend since high scho ...

Knee ProblemsDec 11, 2012
First let me start by saying that I have had two arthroscopies on my right knee and one on my left for basically worn out cartilage and some "fraying" around the edges of the knee cartilage, but never an outright tear (according to MRI studies all three times).  My knee problems have always started out first with pain, achy-type feeling, stiffness, and a tight band-like feeling around my knee, sometimes hurting on the outer back of my knee (I know I have a Baker's cyst in both knees, b ...

Problems With TV ReceptionApr 30, 2014
Tonight I dropped my Comcast remote, and it fell upside down on the carpet.  When I picked it up, it apparently hit a button that immediately made my TV reception extremely snowy.  Can't figure out how to fix it.  I did not go near the TV, so I am sure it has nothing to do with any cable connections.  Any advice would be helpful before I undertake the task of calling Comcast, which is not always a good experience.  Thanks! ...

Health Problems Being An MTSep 11, 2014
I'm a relatively new MT and already I'm having a constant ache in my arm and shoulder. It's a strange sensation that I can't really describe. Never had problems physically before until I began being an MT. However, it didn't come on until about a year and a half of being an MT. For those who have been an MT for, say, 20 years, I don't know how you do it. You don't get health problems from working at McDonald's or Wal-Mart, I don't think. Typing 8 ...

NECK PROBLEMSApr 17, 2016
I have been doing MLS work for donkey's years.   I have always had a little "twitch" in my neck but recently it has gotten out of hand.   I cannot go to get my hair done or even to the dentist because when I sit down in the chair my head starts to twitch.  I cannot even take a drink without my head twitching resulting in me spilling the drink.   It is not constant but occurs often enough these days to alarm me.   I am thinking it may be from constantly staring at a ...

Problems With Controlling Mother...Sep 25, 2011
I'm hoping this doesn't get too long winded, but it probably will, lol.  I have an exceptionally controlling mother (I'm 44).  She makes snide remarks about my parenting, my clothes, my job, you name it.  I got fed up about a month ago and blocked her from calling into my home (comcast can do that).  Her world's record of calling me at home was 12 times in one day.  Now she can only call my cell phone.  Stupid me I thought this would work out bet ...

Sister And Mother ProblemsDec 27, 2011
I am at a complete loss as to how to handle this situation.  My mother and sister have done this before and I pretty much just let it go, but they have done it again.  I have an 11-yo daughter who loves to see her grandma and her aunt.  My sister has 2 smaller children that my daughter also loves to see and play with.  My sister seems bent on telling my daughter things I did before she was born.  Nothing God awful- like when my much older child was younger, I would go ou ...

Persistent Rash Problems-please Help!Jun 03, 2011

Having Problems With Brother's FriendJul 05, 2011
My family knew that I was looking for a new pet.  I wanted a cat or a kitten and had been looking in shelters and in ads for a pet, hoping to give an unwanted animal a good home.  I finally found a 3 year old super fat and fuzzy faded orange tabby cat and brought it home. Named him Puss in Boots because he reminds me of the character in Shrek 3, that fat!  Well my brother called me up and explained to me that a friend of his was looking for a home for ...

Teenage Girl/Boy ProblemsApr 26, 2011
Not sure what to do.  This is the first time I've had to deal with this, though I'm sure it won't be the last.  My daugther is in the process of breaking up with her first real boyfriend.  They're both 17 years old.  They were pretty serious for 6 months.  I'm not aware of everything, but from what my daughter has told me this 15 year old girl (who lives out of the area), who looks from her FB profile page to be 20 (very sexy profile pic) has her ...

Perfect Storm Of Car ProblemsJun 27, 2012
Hello:  just having a mini breakdown about car problems. My van is in the shop and I have to pay $500 deductible for repairs from an accident. The real issue though is my sister's and my niece's cars. My sister's car needs about $945 in repairs. My niece's car is basically blown engine an not salvageable. They want help to repair their cars, and I told them no. This is a long story but I can not help them, and it does make me sad but I have my own money woes. My niece i ...

I Think This Would Solve A Lot Of Problems InstantlySep 09, 2012
I've thought about this before, and it occurred to me again while reading exerpts from Woodward's newest book...along with "rebuttals" from Obama, Pelosi, Boehner, Reid, etc.  Most of these amount to "that never happened". Also, I've thought about this in conjunction with things like the secret negotiations with pharmaceutical companies to gain their support for Obamacare.  I don't say this just happens on one side - it happens on both sides. I've often wonde ...

Spouse With Possible Cognitive Problems?Feb 15, 2013
Hubby and I went out for Valentine's dinner last night.  We've been married 26 years.  He's 59.  Now, we've lived in this community for almost 20 years.  He knows these streets up and down and sideways, but on our way to the restaurant he turned the car into an oncoming ramp with a car coming right at us.  I tried not to freak, but was not completely calm when I said, "We can't go that way!"  He stopped short of committing to the ramp and ma ...

Did President Obama Know About The VA Problems?May 19, 2014
It's being reported that the president knew about the problems at the VA since 2008, and so he should since he is Commander in Chief. So, if he knew about those problems and all these other scandals brewing, just what has he accomplished during his presidency other than the colossal failure known as Obamacare? Of all the scandals, the one involving Veterans is right up there with Benghazi. The very people who have volunteered to protect America, including the President, and this is the than ...
