Does anyone else have the problem of certain outside noise frequencies causing their eardrums to vibrate or pulse really fast? This only happens when I wear my headphones. I have noise-canceling headphones and can't actually hear the sound, just feel the vibrations in my eardrums. It's only certain things for me like lawnmowers, chainsaws, four-wheelers, and some car/truck engines. Most of the time it isn't bad if whatever is making the noise is just there for a moment, but it can be really painful like this morning with the neighbor going over the same patch of his yard over and over. I'm surprised his poor yard has any grass left. This morning has been the worst and I'm actually feeling nauseous. Any suggestions of what I can do to help this would be much appreciated. I've considered seeing an ENT or even just a primary about it, but no insurance here means no appointments. The ER sent me home with "helpful hints" of warm compresses and not working during times when the sounds are present, which is pretty much all the time.
