CTS and severe hand pain on awakening (sm)

I have had CTS for over 20 years but a new symptom has me questioning RA or OA. I'm waking up with pretty bad hand and wrist pain, numbness and extreme weakness bilaterally. I could not even turn on the light this morning due to lack of sensation. It is most in the right (and I sleep on the right side) but in both hands. The most affected fingers are thumb, index and middle. Lying there moving the hands doesn't help but once and get up and move around the pain subsides quickly. ...
