OMG! I am so glad to find you guys. I have been doing this for 7 years now, started at Spheris then jumped just before the sale (out of the frying pan, as it were) and am now at MM. No work, have wondered about the rest of the accounts. Whatever I have said about this company has probably already been said.....
Even though I'm not working much, it is killing my back. I bought a $300 chair (ouch) to be able to tolerate it, but I am in screaming pain whenever I sit at the computer. Have tried ergonomics, massage, PT, back exercises and codeine which does take the edge off, but only that.
Does anyone have a "good" workstation? I have to be doing this for a number of more years and don't know how I'm gonna do it.

[ In Reply To ..]I started getting bad back pain, and I researched and discovered it might have a lot to do with crossing my legs all the time, even when my foot was on the pedal. Since not crossing my legs, my back pain has gotten better.

[ In Reply To ..]I bought a custom full corset a couple of years ago to wear with a formal skirt to a special occasion. I figured I would never wear it again until my back hurt and I put it on. Now my butt gets sore from sitting long before my back does. This is a custom-fitted corset with proper coil stays and not one of the knock-offs you can buy on the internet that has stretchy fabric.
I am assuming a back brace would do roughly the same thing, but it is what I had lying around.

Don't think I've ever seen a real corset, but it is good to know investing in one of the knock offs won't work. I had thought I might have tried it.
Lately, I've been getting so little work, my back has felt much better! Nine hours one week. Good grief! When they start messing with my medical because I'm not working "full time," is when the roof gets raised. Won't put it past them, though.

I'm once again having wrist pain in my dominant hand which is worse at the end of my shift. I took a week off to completely rest it and it helps, but it still hurts whenever I most my thumb, at the base into the top of the radius. Does anyone have this problem? Have been told by orthopod that I have bone-on-bone in my right knee. He suggested surgery and gave me Tramadol for the pain. Surgery is not an option financially at this time. I have been losing weight in order to take some of the pressure off. I cannot take the Tramadol and work because it makes me sleepy. Cannot take NSAIDs because of the GI side effects.
