I always try to listen to sides before I make a judgment, but when there is a old man who has gotten scripts to get his pencil to go upright on top of a boatload of painkillers, etc., I find his rheortic beyond inapprorpiate.

Before you flame on me, I listen to both sides, and I won't attack anything that has a bit of logic.

paying for either contraception or boner pills. BCP can be obtained at any PP facility for little cost to the patient. There is nothing stopping them from attaining BCP....including religion. If they doctor at a Catholic hospital, they can go to PP for little money and get the contraception that they need/want. As for boner pills....I just think this is ridiculous. Why should this be paid for my taxpayer dollars? If a man, God forbid, can't get it up...too bad...so sad.

I find that the topic of BCP has been taken WAY out of context. I've listened to both sides. The only thing BCP is beneficial is for preventing unwanted pregnancies. However, the potential side effects of said BCP can be quite deadly not beneficial at all to women's health.

As for Limbaugh's comments....he was out of line and I admit it. However, there have been many horrible comments by the left that have gone unnoticed that were just as bad. The names that Bill Maher has called Sarah Palin are just horrible. The song they played on the Jimmy Falon show when Palin was on and the song was talking about a crazy b*tch or something like that. I'm tired of the double standards. Rush shouldn't have said what he did, but I don't see why he should be crucified for doing what many on the left do.

They are used to treat
1) ABORTION PREVENTION
2) Acne and other oil-based skin blemishes with lowered risks of infection and abscess 3) Irregular cycles due to low weight, stress, excessive exercise, or damage to the ovaries from radiation or chemotherapy
4) Hypermenorrhea/menorrhagia
5) Menstrual cramps
6) Premenstrual syndrome
7) Reduced fluid retention with pills containing drospirenone, a form of progestin
8) Polycystic ovary disease
9) Endometriosis and its associated debilitating/disabling pain (as in cramps on steroids 24/7/365, the kind that double you over and put you to bed, yet prevent you from sleeping), something I have personally experienced. Hormonal therapy can help postpone definitive surgical treatment of endometriosis for years, thus increasing the chances for some patients to conceive a pregnancy, should they CHOOSE to do so.
10) Controlling anemia
11) Reducing the incidence of mega-painful ovarian cysts not associated with PCOS, that quite often require expensive surgical intervention and lead to lost work days. PP gets enough of my taxpayer as it is. I am sick of paying for everybody lazy behind that will not take care of themselves. Okay flamers, knock yourself out. I would never deny a poor person services, but there are far too many abusing the process that are not poor and can readily pay for their own care. You obviously did not HEAR the other side of this discussion.

I PERSONALLY had to take birth control pills in my 20s for a MEDICINAL purpose. It was either try that or else I'd have to have a hysterectomy.

The pill IS MEDICINAL for untold amounts of females, having nothing to do with contraception.

The story Ms. Fluke was denied the opportunity to relate at the hearing before all the MEN was about her best friend who also needed BCP but could no longer afford them and wound up having to have surgery on her ovaries as a DIRECT RESULT of not being able to afford BCP.

It's not just for birth control purposes. THAT'S the other side of the story that you claim you've listened to both sides, which you obviously didn't.

the whole BCP issue. NO ONE is asking for tax payers to pay for birth control. What is being asked for is for women who have health insurance that they PAY FOR through a group plan at their place of employment receive hormone therapy in the form of BCPs as part of their coverage. That's it, no government funding involved.

Hi all, What do you think about people who pray for, what I term, silly things? I live in a semidetached neighborhood and the neighbors on one side constantly burn a fire pit with wood pallets and whatever in it all the time at least 4 to 5 times a week. Need carpet that will wear well and stand up to cats (with claws), hairballs, etc. We looked at nylon carpet, but that is too pricey. My DH and I have been having an ongoing argument about family obligations on the part of grown children. We are so invested in our points of view that we sometimes get almost hostile and have to stop the conversation.
