Romney plans to do away with Planned Parenthood upon his election.

Sarah Palin desires to debate the president.

I haven't heard either one, but assuming that what you post is true, there is no way Mitt the Flipper can do away with Planned Parenthood. Under what authority could he do that? As for Palin...who cares? I mean really. Those are my 2 cents.

Mitt Romney did say he would do away with - sm

Planned Parenthood. Whether he does it legally or not doesn't really matter (though I think the Congress has the right to cut it out of the budget) because I believe that either way, it will be appealed to the SCOTUS.

Once at the SCOTUS level, I would look for Alito, Scalia and Roberts (ALL Catholic) at least to uphold the decision to do away with it. Remember, corporations are people, too, so that's the kind of mentality we're dealing with regarding the SCOTUS.

and Obama said he'd close Gitmo/nm - still waiting

Gotta agree with Silly Goose, - Zville MT

Romney can say whatever he wants, he would have no authority to do away with PP. He could ask congress to defund it, but I doubt that would work either.

As for Palin, why on earth would she want to debate the president and how exactly could she make that happen (unless she decides to run, which I doubt)? I haven't heard this one, but if it's true, she's just blowing smoke. Heck, I'd like to debate the president, but I'm fairly certain that's just not gonna happen :)

I heard that Sarah Palin challenged President Obama to a debate. Of course, this is not going to happen.

Yes, she apparently DID challenge Obama to a debate. I'd pay dearly to see THAT fiasco. Corroborating link below. ROFL!

Palins bring it on debate challenge - sm

surfaced Monday morning after the Game Change debut. IMO, this response had very little to do with President Obama and everything to do with Palin’s compulsion to defend the unfavorable image portrayed in the movie by attempting to reassert herself as a viable player on the political field. Her version of issues Americans are most concerned about include angst over reverse discrimination, President Obama’s nontraditional, nonconventional otherness and antebellum class warfare.

As usual, Sarah has it backwards. Those are her diversions, not President Obama’s. She accuses the president of being fearful of discussing the economy, energy prices, and the vague reference to all the other unspecified problems people need addressed. I guess we are to conclude that Sarah is now better equipped to handle these subjects than she was during the 2008 campaign and we should just let her slide on her aversion to being more specific on those issues of great concern for all Americans. Some may be more inclined to conclude she still can’t hold more than one or two specific political talking points in her head at the same time.

Contrary to what Sarah’s ego is telling her, the ad is not about her. The clips of her were used to illustrate the right’s failure to recognize that those tactics did not work for them then, are not working for them now, and will not work for them in the future. But Sarah doesn’t let that stop her from calling for a renewed assault on "Obama’s radical past associations and the radical philosophy that shaped his ideas."

Clueless as ever.
Brilliant summary...thank you - nm

is entitled to debate the president one-on-one. Goes to show what at arrogant elitist he is to ignore that request.
He can vacation constantly and scamper around with that tall lady he lives with (anyone checked to see if they are actually married) but does not have time to debate a voter? Time to chuck this fellow out the door.
And how will that work? And yet again - sm

some senseless, unfounded insinuation about Obama and/or his family. FOX has yet again led you to believe a lie. Look at this http://www.factcheck.org/2010/01/president-obamas-vacation-days/ of course, Im sure you wont believe this..its all one big conspiracy.

Palin has already stated she is not running. There is no reason for her to debate the president. This isn't a sideshow, this is a part of the candidacy/election process.

Your disrespect for the president and the first lady is grotesque, in my opinion. You spout a lot of invective for someone who regards this is a beautiful country.
This "beautiful country" is a fungus-covered armpit - of nazi-esque right-wing nut-cases.

Planned Parenthood upon his election.

As far as debating the President, I don't know if Sarah Palin wants to do that, but considering her uneducated, completely ignorant hubris, it wouldn't surprise me one bit.

Romney did say that but then he clarified (or - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
changed it to be more palatable) to saying that what he MEANT was to stop federal funding of Planned Parenthood. now, what he really means is questionable.

As far as SP, she can challenge anyone to a debate to make herself look like she has something worthwhile to say but, of course, Obama will not get involved with her shenanigans.

Iraq has begun collecting signatures for a class action lawsuit on behalf of people killed or wounded in incidents involving US security firm Blackwater. It will seek compensation for a number of such cases, the office of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said. Incidents include the 2007 killing of 17 Iraqis in Baghdad's Nisoor Square. Advice Sought... 66-yo Mother Needing Care. SmMar 30, 2012
I will keep this as short as I can.  My parents weren't very good parents.  I was kind of the grown-up already in my family when I was 13.  My brother has wanted nothing to do with them for most of his life and moved away.  He and I are kind of on a more of a friends term than brother and sister.  I'm now 43 years old,  my father passed away 3 years ago from alcohol related complications.  Mom is 66 yo.  Mom has been on a downhill course since, ...

Link Sought Between Brother, 3 Waltham KillingsApr 24, 2013

Scores Of Republicans Who Oppose Stimulus Sought Funds In Private LettersOct 17, 2010
This is really disgusting. I can't understand why people can't see through some of our Congressmen. Rep. Pete Sessions, the firebrand conservative from Dallas, Texas, has relentlessly assailed the Democratic-passed stimulus law as a wasteful "trillion dollar spending spree" that was "more about stimulating the government and rewarding political allies than growing the economy and creating jobs." But that didn’t stop the Republican lawmaker from reaching his ha ...

Opinions - Is He Just Not That Into Me - Or Something Else? SmMay 17, 2010
Ok... so I met this guy about a month ago - I am the one going out with a guy almost 11 years younger.  He's a very nice guy! Every time I see him he is nice and we talk literally for hours.  He told me off the bat he is not much of a phone person so he doesn't call much, but he sends a few texts every day.  At first he wanted to see me several days a week... one of my friends called him my "boyfriend" though and I think it freaked him out. He had told me he was definite ...

I Could Use Some Opinions Jun 25, 2010
Hey everyone, this is my first time posting on this board, but I thought I'd see if I could get some input. My ex husband met this woman and moved her in with him after only knowing her for 1-1/2 months. I wasn't real thrilled with the idea because we have two kids and joint custody, so they spend half their time at their dad's. Honestly, I was feeling a little jealous about some other woman spending time with my kids. I met her and she seemed nice, so I got used to the idea and ...

Hi all, What do you think about people who pray for, what I term, silly things? Like what color drapes to buy, what shoes to wear that day, etc. I find it rather silly because people have to take controls over their own lives. I do not believe in "handing everything over" to the higher power. Our higher power (who I term God) gave us brains and will and power to make decisions. I don't call this an abuse of prayer, I just don't understand why some people can't think for themsel ...

Opinions From Cat PeopleJan 03, 2012
I need a serious opinion.  We have friends who have 2 cats, full-breed, who they have had daily bonding with for a good 2 years.  Said friends are going on a 3-month trip out of the country and are boarding the cats here in the states.  The one cat (before owners have even left) is showing signs of something isn't right--getting out of the house and not duly returning home, peeing smack dab on top of the bed.).   These cats are brother and sister, and will be somewh ...

Need Opinions/help What To Do About A PuppyNov 18, 2009
We had a black lab puppy show up at our house about 12 days ago.  I have drove around looking for signs for a missing dog (small community) and nothing.   I have been feeding this little angel because I CANNOT starve a dog no matter who it might belong to. Need Opinions Please About School (sm)Jan 24, 2011
I am currently looking into returning to school like so many other MTs out there.  There are programs where you can get an Associates Degree in Healthcare Management (basically medical records), which I am really not interested in because, as I see it, most hospitals are trying to cut down their medical records departments to as slim of staff as possible, plus with the integration of EMR, I just do not see this being a lucrative field.  IF, big big IF here, I were to enter into this pr ...

Opinions About My ChildMay 21, 2010
I am not sure what to do about my child and would like opinions on who to see or what.  When my son was around 5 years old, we lived in a house and he would say he "saw people" in the house.  I would see him standing there and he would jump as if something startled him, but of course nothing was there.  It got to the point that I couldn't even step out on the front porch without him being right under me, afraid to be inside by himself.  Well, later on, my 16-year-ol ...
