A friend of mine has facebook account. she's been looking up everyone she can think of, including her kids teachers. well, she's seeing another side to the teachers. Sometimes not so great but nothing criminal or anything like that, just a side of their personal life that one wouldn't usually know.

Anyway, to my question. How do you feel about your child's teacher posting that she been out partying saturday night, or showing a picture of them smoking, or drinking. Does that change your image of them at all?

Would you prefer that they didn't post that kind of thing for all to see including their own students?

I wouldn't want to add the parents or students I guess (sm) - my opinion

or have a seperate acct with a slightly different name that I had friends on and have parents and students separate

Teachers are people just like everyone else, - sm

they party, smoke, drink, etc. As long as nothing is illegal, don't see anything wrong. They do not have to be friends with their students, but even if not on facebook, you see them out in the community doing whatever.

My husband teaches middle school. He occasionally will buy beer to cook with (a six-pack may last 6 months LOL), but he will not buy it at one of the local stores where the kids he teaches may see him! These kiddos look up to teachers and yes, even though human, in my opinion they don't need to prominently display certain things. I mean, can't you just hear them.."Well if Mr. C drinks beer, then it must be fine and dandy!" Yes, he has a Facebook, but hardly ever posts anything, although he has a lot of former and current students who have requested him as a friend. I personally think our society is lax in what is considered "acceptable" and "unacceptable" anymore...Just look at TV...when do we say enough is enough??

Bless your husband. I totally agree.

Im surprised they give their real names. I know a - few pretty wild teachers, & they use aliases.

Teachers are human, just like the rest of us. They deserve to have their parties, their fun, and their bad habits as well. Just as long as it doesn't hurt their students, it shouldn't matter what they do on their own time.

Words With Friends On FacebookApr 24, 2012
I wanted to play Words with Friends with Facebook  on my PC.  I get to the point where it wants to load friends but then it says retry later.  My question is can it be played on a PC or do you have to have a Ipad or Iphone.  My daughter said maybe my computer is too old.  It is only five years old.  I got addicted to that game on a friend's Ipad.  I do not play any other games.  TIA ...

I am asking any of you in other states to post this to Facebook, e-mail it or convey it some other way so that this man's picture gets out. You will read what happened to these girls in Delphi, Indiana five months ago. The reward is way up there now. They had a grainy picture of this man and through various tips, 11,000 of them and only 2,000 of them followed up on so far, this is a composite of this horrid man. Anyway, this has touched my heart and I feel he is long gone from this ...

Advertising Small Business On FacebookJan 27, 2010
Has anyone had success with advertising a small business using a fan page (or whatever they call it) on FB?  I have yet to set up an account.  I do not want a personal account as I have been told that FB tries to link your personal and business info together.  In addition to being a PT MT, I am also a travel consultant working out of my home.  It's an established family business with a long-time website.  I would like to use that website name as ...

Facebook - No State/federal TaxesFeb 17, 2013
It hasn’t drawn much attention, but Facebook’s first annual earnings report contains an accounting gem: a multibillion-dollar tax deduction for the cost of executive stock options and share awards. Even though Facebook (FB) reported $1.1 billion in pre-tax profits from U.S. operations in 2012, it will probably pay zero federal and state taxes—and even receive a federal tax refund of about $429 million—according to a Feb. 14 statement from Citizens for Tax Justice. The tax-research ...

I truly believe that Barrack Obama is holding something over the heads of our congress members just as he has done to the media and judicial system. He bribes, he threatens and he intimidates to get what he wants. I know this has gone on for years but this man is evil and he has the Muslim Brotherhood backing him. He is sending them billions of dollars and weaponry to form a strong army to use against us and he is even building an army here at home guised under the name of the Department of Home ...

Oops, LOL. Cruz's Facebook Poll Apr 03, 2014
Pretty funny, actually!   Sen. Ted Cruz has unintentionally generated lots of Facebook love for Obamacare. The Texas Republican recently did his own little poll about Obamacare on Facebook, asking whether the health law has improved people’s lives. By the thousands, people told him it had. I Need Some OpinionsDec 31, 2009
I have a friend I just connected with who lives across the country.  She lived next door to me.  We grew up together, played together, and went to school together.  Went to her wedding and then she moved and I lost touch.  Anyway (sorry to get side tracked, that has nothing to do with my post).  Anyway…when I told her what I do (MT), she told me her daughter took 3 classes but couldn’t afford to finish the training, and asked me my opinions of the MT field a ...

Need Some Opinions Please!!Feb 15, 2010
I have had a lot of problems with my breasts over the years, have had 3 biopsies in the left and 1 in the right but thank God they have all be negative.  However, over the last several weeks I have been experiencing something different, pain and burning in my right breast along with swelling (not a lot but enough for me to notice).  I have performed self-examinations and other than exquisite tenderness throughout the breast I cannot find any masses (I actually do have a 6 mm nodul ...

Opinions - Is He Just Not That Into Me - Or Something Else? SmMay 17, 2010
Ok... so I met this guy about a month ago - I am the one going out with a guy almost 11 years younger.  He's a very nice guy! Every time I see him he is nice and we talk literally for hours.  He told me off the bat he is not much of a phone person so he doesn't call much, but he sends a few texts every day.  At first he wanted to see me several days a week... one of my friends called him my "boyfriend" though and I think it freaked him out. He had told me he was definite ...

I Could Use Some Opinions Jun 25, 2010
Hey everyone, this is my first time posting on this board, but I thought I'd see if I could get some input. My ex husband met this woman and moved her in with him after only knowing her for 1-1/2 months. I wasn't real thrilled with the idea because we have two kids and joint custody, so they spend half their time at their dad's. Honestly, I was feeling a little jealous about some other woman spending time with my kids. I met her and she seemed nice, so I got used to the idea and ...

So, my daughter, who is 9, had all sorts of ear problems, stayed on antibiotics and had to get tubes, whcih stayed in for only 3 weeks and I opted not to get the procedure again.  She finally grew out of it.  My son, he is 13 and never had ear problems.  A month ago though he got a case of Sterp and ended up with a ruptured eardrum.  The doctor told me to take him to ENT to make sure the ear perforation healed after the one round of antibiotics.  Took him to ENT and it h ...

Opinions, PleaseMay 26, 2013
Hi all, What do you think about people who pray for, what I term, silly things? Like what color drapes to buy, what shoes to wear that day, etc. I find it rather silly because people have to take controls over their own lives. I do not believe in "handing everything over" to the higher power. Our higher power (who I term God) gave us brains and will and power to make decisions. I don't call this an abuse of prayer, I just don't understand why some people can't think for themsel ...

High Schooler Avoids Suspension Over Facebook CommentFeb 02, 2011
Think he should have been suspended anyway? http://www.switched.com/2011/02/01/a...3_lnk3%7C40724 A California teenager who called his teacher a "fat ***" on Facebook has avoided punishment from his high school, thanks to the ACLU. In December, 10th-grader Donny Dunlap received an unusually large amount of homework from his biology teacher, so he decided to vent about it on Facebook. In a status update, the teen announced that the teacher is a "fat *** who should stop eating fast food, an ...

Opinions From Cat PeopleJan 03, 2012
I need a serious opinion.  We have friends who have 2 cats, full-breed, who they have had daily bonding with for a good 2 years.  Said friends are going on a 3-month trip out of the country and are boarding the cats here in the states.  The one cat (before owners have even left) is showing signs of something isn't right--getting out of the house and not duly returning home, peeing smack dab on top of the bed.).   These cats are brother and sister, and will be somewh ...
