Hate crime charges sought in July 4 beating
Posted: Jul 10, 2015
The video of this beating is absolutely sickening, but the outcome will probably be that nothing is done. Don't want to upset the delicate, you know.
;
**And should go little to no where - - a few kids fighting
[ In Reply To ..]
Sure somebody could be charged with something. Who knows what started it,
and as to making this a race thing, yes indeedy, that looks like a white guy getting hit by a black guy....oops and also a black guy looks like he is pulling a black guy off a white guy, and a white and black couple walked by.
It really only seemed to be between a few people.
** I have edited this. Went to dig a little further and there is a much better story to your point. I don't know if it still proves hate crime, but a lot more CRIME than the video embedded in OP.
IMO, from what I have gotten from this, it will have to be proven that when the black guy got "bumped" by the white guy that he responded by beating on him because he was white. Strangely, if they have any proof that the black guy has a history of just beating on anyone who gets in his space, this isn't a hate crime.
Are we sure this isn't just the right's attempt to deflect from Charleston? - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
Being a liberal, I thought I would try out that right-wing mantra that everything that happens is just a conspiracy to deflect from something else.
Now I just feel silly. :)
You tube took the video down last I heard. I watched it - I see blacks excited over the assault,
[ In Reply To ..]
I see a white person attempting to help, and then I saw a black guy trying to keep the crowd back in order to help as well.
You're right, this will go nowhere.
Sign the petition for Cracker Barrel to change their name to Caucasian Barrel - video has gone viral! Liberals

and all their race-baiting have found racism in everything.
All that is about to change and the tide is about to turn thanks to Ryan Koch from Des Moines, IA.
He believes that the restaurant chain, Cracker Barrel should be changed to Caucasian Barrel. Mr. Koch has started a petition on Change.org demanding the establishment change their name. Did I mention it’s hilariously awesome and mocks the race baiters out there?
I say all of us European Americans start protesting C****er Barrel. It uses an offensive slur and it is deeply offensive and mocks our long and proud heritage.
Mr. Koch’s take on the absurdity of race in America is spot on.
The name is offensive, their logo stereotypes European Americans as people who sit on chairs and lean against what appears to be a bourbon barrel, claiming we are all a bunch of alcoholics. Sure, they’ll SAY it’s a “cracker” barrel but everyone knows crackers don’t come in barrels, they come in bags and boxes!
Cracker Barrel has already been sued - for racism-Guess EEOC could have made them
[ In Reply To ..]
EEOC Trial Attorney Calhoun added, "But this case wasn't just about sexual harassment it was also very clearly about race. Black employees said that they experienced racially charged language in the workplace, including 'spear chucking porch monkey,' 'you people,' 'ghetto' and the 'n-word.' They said that the discrimination they experienced took other forms as well, including being required to wait on African American customers when white servers refused to do so, and being assigned to work in smoking sections."
And Cracker Barrel has been charged with - discriminating against gays
•In Jan. 1991, Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc., a chain of family restaurants, expressly prohibited the employment of lesbians and gays in their workplace.
•Managers received a corporate personnel policy memorandum from William Bridges, vice president of human resources, declaring that it was deemed
◦“inconsistent with our concept and values and . . . with those of our customer base, to continue to employ individuals . . . whose sexual preferences fail to demonstrate normal heterosexual values, which have been the foundation of families in our society.”
I'm surprised the gaystapo hasn't tried to destroy - them like Chik-Fil-A. NM
So I guess you didn't hear about Trump threatening to sue people for millions? - sm

The misinformation from the right wing bubble about the Oregon same-sex wedding cake issue is palpable. The propaganda machine is selectively telling bits and pieces and whining about a gag order while not telling the whole story. The $135,000 was not a penalty or fine; it was damages paid to the complainants because of the harm caused by the owner of the bakery. The guy published the first page of the complaint on his Facebook page with an entry stating "This is what happens when you tell gay people you won't do their 'wedding cake,'" complete with complainants name, address, and phone number for the world to see. They immediately began receiving death threats from anti-gay activists and hate groups who had not only their phone number but also their address. So the right-wing propaganda about that whole issue is a load of made up rubbish. The Kleins published information about the couple and then went on multiple television shows and attended anti-gay hate rallies for their business' totally-fictional right to discriminate against LGBT people, which is against the law in the State of Oregon. The damages weren't remotely about a stupid cake. The poor little Christian couple at the bakery being fined for not making a cake is total fiction. How would you like your name and address published on Facebook and receiving death threats from a bunch of people who got your personal information off social media from a bakery owner?
As far as Macy's and those Donald Trump issues, I guess you haven't heard that Trump's lawyer has sent a cease and desist letter threatening to sue an American citizen for $25 million over a Macy's petition in the past and is now suing Univision for defamation (see link). Trump claims that Univision and Alberto Ciurana, Univision President of Programming and Content, have broadcast false statements about him and demands $500 million in recompense.
In addition, Trump is threatening to sue NBC and many others. The National Hispanic Media Coalition was phoned by chief counsel for the Trump Organization threatening that NHMC would be sued if it "does not cease its advocacy efforts."
Bully tactics from the right wing bigots who want freedom of speech as long as its one sided and they're doing all the talking. Nothing new from Trump and his ilk or the right-wing bullies who constantly are whining about suing or calling a 9th hearing over the same issue in order to smear their opponents, meanwhile they accomplish nothing in the Congress because the sad truth is that the GOP can't agree on anything amongst their own party except their hatred for the president and almost anything he tries to enact.
Same usual crap, different day.

Regardless of whether or not you believe his message - sm

It's hypocritical for anyone to whine about their right to freedom of speech while they are cheering on the silencing of others through bullying tactics and threats of lawsuits.
I may not agree with what someone is saying, but I have absolutely no problem whatsoever with them saying what's on their mind and allowing them to have different ideas without trying to bully them into silence for not agreeing with me.
This "freedom for me but not for thee" is a problem with conservatives who want freedom for themselves while trying to silence everyone else who doesn't agree with them. They are quick to spot this attitude in the left wing but blind to it in themselves.

Green Eggs & Ham is entered into the Congressional Record also, compliments of the Canadian Bacon. "Would you, could you in the dark?" LOL! Yes, at the end of the book, the ham ends up realizing that Obamacare is here to stay because he actually tries it. It's a sinister plot twist at the end since the ham, I mean Sam, probably never saw that coming. LOL!
Yes, A. S. Herlong, Jr. of Florida read those 45 communist goals into the Congressional Record, House of Representatives on Thursday, January 10, 1963:
***** "Mr. Speaker, Mrs. Patricia Nordman of De Land, Fla., is an ardent and articulate opponent of communism, and until recently published the De Land Courier, which she dedicated to the purpose of alerting the public to the dangers of communism in America.
At Mrs. Nordman's request, I include in the RECORD, under unanimous consent, the following "Current Communist Goals," which she identifies as an excerpt from "The Naked Communist," by Cleon Skousen." *****
And then he reads the list of 45 into the Congressional Record right out of the book by Willard Cleon Skousen, right-wing Mormon darling of the Tea Party because right-wing Mormon Glenn Beck idolizes him and spews his easily proven incorrect drivel on a regular basis and prattles on incessantly about Skousen's views, which are basically the whitewashing and revision of actual American history.
Some of Skousen's conspiracy drivel was read into the Congressional Record in 1963 at the request of Mrs. Nordman of De Land. So what?
I just checked the Internet to see how Mrs. Nordman of De Land was doing. Apparently she passed away in April this year.
Anything that can be read, can be read into the Congressional Record. It means absolutely zero.
Some people just never grow up. Much of what is happening - today is proof. nm

The guy is running around the country spewing his racist crap and lumping all of one race into the same category. The President of the United States is not going to go there, people. It's political grandstanding on Trump's part to try to prove some racist crap he said while he was announcing his stupid candidacy and telling everyone how rich he was and all kinds of utter nonsense not unlike his stupid birther nonsense from the last election where he threatened to run for president.
The POTUS is not wading into the Trump political rhetoric and mindless drivel.
Should he really comment on this mindless political crap being spewed by Trump? Oh, hell no. Let them whine all they want. Obama is right not to comment on the rhetoric of all the clowns riding on the GOP clown train. Leave that third grade crap to the GOP and their ilk.
