There are three things I know about every member of this board: We were all born, we will all die, and we are all liars.
Spoonful of sugar for the medicine? Okay, rephrase: We are all less than completely truthful.
So when I read about someone's husband lying to her about something, my immediate reaction is, "Yeah, well, what's she lied to him about?" - because there's something, I'm very, very, VERY sure.
No? Stop for a moment and consider that lies by omission, exaggeration, obscuration, avoidance and/or minimization of relevant facts are, in their own way, even sneakier forms of dishonesty than an outright fish story.
Taking the entire panoply of deceptive practices that human beings have invented, I can say without the slightest hesitation that you've done it, and that you've done it in your intimate relationships.
Sorry, but there's no spoonful of sugar for that medicine.
