Rubio, Fiorina, Carson?

Clown car of the circus train is filling up fast?  Which ones will make the cut?  I don't see anything particularly promising there, which, mind you, is a good thing to me, but the Republicans must be shuddering.

Now let me see here.

Let's dispense with the criminally challenged first. Perry's going to need more than a bespeckled, smiling, defiant mug shot to make that indictment go away. Walker, Kasich and Christie continue to be plagued with an impressive array of various types of ongoing investigations. Ben Carson's shining star has become a bit tarnished of late after he apologized the other day for his 2012 plagiarism, but assured us he is working diligently to "rectify" the situation. Some people just don't handle the spotlight very well. He might be their next Herman Cain.

Next up are the freshman senators. Paul is in a class of his own, since he's poised to inherit the legacy of his dad, a 3-time loser in presidential races. Rand has a hard time deciding how to align his confusion on social agendas, which are all over the map, with party dogma. Like father, like son. Then there's Freshman Rubio. As far as I can recall, his water bottle moment is his most memorable, with the possible exception of his immigration flip-flopping that managed to offend republicans and democrats alike, not what most folks mean by bipartisan unity. Crazy Cruz would send independents and center-right GOPers bolting for the door, running for cover.

In a mid December poll, Santorum came in with 2% support for the nomination, behind Bobby The-Stupid-Party Jindal (3%) and None/No one at 8%! Hackabee's viability as a POTUS/VPOTUS candidate has not risen above "speculative" since his failed 2008 bid. Pretty sure dark horse candidate Carly Fiorina, whose credentials include the distinction of never having held public office and fiscal mismanagement of her failed 2010 Senate bid, would be done in by fellow GOP women, unless they decide they need a token female to pit against Hillary. She's got a lot of raw nerve, though. I'll give her that much.

That leave us with the smug 47%er, vying to tie Ron Paul's 3-time loser record, since his 47% turned out to be the insufficient share of votes he was able to garner last time around. He started out his potential third run with another forked-tongue flip-flop when he told donors behind closed doors he's thinking about the White House again after telling the rest of us 9 times or so that he won't run again. Sound familiar? See link.

Then there's Bush the Third whose candidacy most likely will crumble under the weight of the baggage he carries from Bush the Second, not to mention his Tea Party don't-tread-on-us problem that just be the straw that breaks that camel's back.

including 2014, despite the right's ruthless efforts to demonize her. While I do not agree with every position she takes, she represents enough of my interests on many issues that are important to me: Health care, the environment, energy, gun control, civil liberties, women's and LGBT rights, poverty, income inequality, minimum wage and net neutrality. I am comfortable with her overall level of experience, especially as SOS, and I believe she is an intelligent, gifted woman and a highly skilled politician, but the #1 reason I would vote for her is because she's not at all aligned with conservative, right-wing crazy.

BTW, Clinton is not my first choice candidate, unless she has the wisdom to choose Elizabeth Warren as her running mate or runs as EW's VP....not likely, I know, but that would be my dream ticket.

Not to mention the stuff coming out about 'ol Bill - MSN

Rumors Of Paul Ryan And Chris Christie Joining Pres. RaceAug 16, 2011
Just my opinion, but I think Chris Christie would be better off finishing his term as governor and then running in the next election - I like him, but it's just too soon for him.  Paul Ryan should also think twice about this, as he's not exactly Mr. Popularity, even with some conservatives.  I like him, too, but I don't think he coud garner the support he would need. Thoughts on this - no slams, please. ...

Romney Thinks FEMA Should Be Disbanded, Gov. Christie No Longer Agrees. SmOct 30, 2012
I'm glad FEMA is here in the Northeast. We have a lot of damage here and a lot of people without power.  Funny how Gov. Christie changed his opinion about FEMA being disbanded after New Jersey got hit with Hurricaine Sandy/Superstorm.  Well, not really funny.  He apparently saw the light. So, if you live in New England or the Eastern seaboard are you still voting for Romney?  You think your state can handle a major disaster by itself?  Think again. ...

HuckabeeDec 03, 2009
