Christie apparently did know about GWB closure.

Posted: Jan 31, 2014

It's all over the news and internet. If this does in fact turn out to be accurate and he did know about the clsoure, this is more proof as noted by the poster below that both sides lie. It's a sad fact of life. That said, Christie was never my GOP frontrunner, but I do hope this doesn't ruin him for good. It appears he's done some good things for NJ, so let's hope that will continue if the people there want him to stay in office.

GWB CLOSURE - ProMT

NEW YORK (Reuters) - David Wildstein, who resigned his post at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey late last year, said he had evidence that proves Christie had knowledge of the jams "during the period when the lanes were closed," according to a letter sent to the authority's lawyer and released to the newspaper.

The letter does not indicate that Christie orchestrated the closures in any way, does not specify exactly when he became aware of the jams, and offers no evidence to back up the claim.

The above article allegedly is not denying that Christie was aware of the closure, but the more important questions for me are at what point did he learn it was caused by a member of his staff and how long thereafter did he act to impose sanctions on the staff responsible? I am not one to jump to conclusions over an accusation. Let's see what the next days and weeks unravel as far as the FACTS.

That's what I see. When I see real evidence, I'll - believe it.

The facts have *already* been unraveling day by day. I've been keeping up. The web is - intricate and

it doesn't look good for Mr. Christie. There are tentacles that reach out in unrelated, but related (because other corruption not related to bridge closure links back to Christie) incidents. This will not turn out good for him.

THE VERDICT IS IN - ProMT

Apparently, Chris Christie has been found guilty of the GWB closure crime, according to some MTs on this board, and now it is time for the sentencing phase. Apparently, Christie will not be given a chance to confront his accusers nor an opportunity to provide for his defense. I guess, according to some, this is fantastic because it will save the taxpayers quite a bit of money without his day in court. I just love America and the legal system motto of "innocent until PROVEN guilty," don't you?
Thanks for the laugh. I needed that this morning. On this board (sm) - Abby

an R after your name = GUILTY - No need to look at the evidence. Kind of reminds me of Eric Holder/Obama team not interviewing any TP witnesses in the IRS scandal. GUILTY - CASE CLOSED. lolol
My post said I was keeping up with the evidence. I never proclaimed he - was guilty.
[ In Reply To ..]
But even when all the evidence is out and the MSM reports it, the right wing will say it's spin or lies, if it's not what they want to hear.
I know you didn't say he was guilty. I was speaking about - most on this board. (sm)
[ In Reply To ..]
I am a conservative, but I believe in calling a spade a spade. If he's guilty, it will come out. If it doesn't come out, I will assume he is innocent. I'm not his biggest fan, by the way, but fair is fair.
That's cause *** are not interested in ANY evidence - Probably because they are so dirty
[ In Reply To ..]
in so many ways. However, if they even THINK (thinking is something ***), there is harm to be done to anyone disagreeing with them, they will do all in the power to destroy. I find it quite telling about the *** that during the elections, they went on for WEEKS ON THIS BOARD about an alleged haircut by Romney, which the so-called victim denied ever happened, but when it came 4 dead in Benghazi...crickets or they said it was a "nonissue". Yeah, 4 dead Americans will never rise to the occasion of hair follicles.

When Obama, out of his own mouth, talked about his marijuana/cocaine use and that Obama sold drugs, those same *** denied Obama ever did it.

How do you feel about the Congressional Republicans who may have been correct when they voiced skepticism about how Sandy funds would be used, fearing Christie would use Sandy Funds as a slush fund?
Did he? Provide proof please. - I haven't heard any.

My post was speculative, not definitive - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
I had harsh criticism for Republicans in Congress who didn't want to let go of funding for Sandy, but in light of recent events regarding Christie using Sandy funds as leverage in exchange for support of private projects (Dawn Zimmer, being one example), it appears the Republicans were correct to be concerned there wouldn't be stringent enough or transparent oversight.

You can google Chrstie Slush Fund and get a lot of different things. Most are opinion pages based on uncovered evidence thus far, and no, nothing has been proven. I didn't say there was.

In any case, if it is within the purview of Congress to legislate better oversight of disaster funds, it does seem like a good idea.

How does "it doesn't look good" translate to guilty? Please don't put words in - my mouth thx. nm

I am the biggest liberal you'll find, but I'm happy to see Chrstie has taken steps to improve his health. Speculation is he's doing it for political reasons.  As a Democrat, Christie is one of the few Republicans I respect.  He seems to show a genuine interest in the people he serves.  Even though I don't agree with his politics, he didn't allow political consequences to come in the way of showiing Obama respect, and he takes a more common sense approach r ...

No Evidence Seen That Christie Knew Of Traffic Scheme -N.J. DemocratFeb 03, 2014
REUTERS,  February 2, 2014:  A New Jersey Democrat leading a probe of the bridge traffic scandal that has engulfed Governor Chris Christie said on Sunday he has seen no evidence to support claims that the governor had been aware of the apparently politically motivated traffic jams as they happened.  The remarks by Assemblyman John Wisniewski, who co-leads the probe, came two days after a former Christie appointee at the agency overseeing the bridge who personally oversaw the lan ...

Romney Thinks FEMA Should Be Disbanded, Gov. Christie No Longer Agrees. SmOct 30, 2012
I'm glad FEMA is here in the Northeast. We have a lot of damage here and a lot of people without power.  Funny how Gov. Christie changed his opinion about FEMA being disbanded after New Jersey got hit with Hurricaine Sandy/Superstorm.  Well, not really funny.  He apparently saw the light. So, if you live in New England or the Eastern seaboard are you still voting for Romney?  You think your state can handle a major disaster by itself?  Think again. ...
