huckabee

Posted: Dec 3, 2009

Now that Huck's been knocked out of the race (so sez pundits) due to his connection to the cop killer, SP has a wide opening to hear the voice she has been waiting for to tell her to run for prez.  My hope is that she succeeds in getting the nomination.  She is so unsuited that reasonable people will decide that even though they have doubts about Obama, they would rather give him a second term than have the wackjob from Wasilla in the WH.  Obama would then have 4 more years to at least make a dent in some of the nation's problems.  By the way, I dont think Huckabee should be saddled with that responsiibility, but what goes around comes around. Dukakis.

Huckabee's not a real popular guy up here these days ~ sm - Anoni~

Apparently all these lunatics had to do was write him and tell them that they'd found Jesus and he let them go. Clemmons should never had been allowed to walk the streets again.

BTW, Govenor Gregaire (sp)has put a ban on all Arkansas rejects from entering this state now. Hopefully those who helped him will get punished to the fullest extent as well.

My son, who's a Rep, said something about he damn bleeding heart Democrats when all this happened, and I had to point out to him that it was a bleeding heart Rep. that let the man loose. The only smile I had all weekend.

Apparently several have missed the interview with Huckabee ... - Get the facts straight

While I do not like Huckabee and would definitely never EVER vote for this man as president, I watched an interview with him right after this tragedy happened. He stated that he did not release this monster, what he did was reduce his sentence that he was given at the age of 16 from 108 years to 47 years. It was the parole board in the State of Arkansas that released this monster back into the public.

As the wife of a law enforcement officer for over 25 years, I can tell you that this happens more than most people realize. I cannot speak for all law enforcement but I have seen first hand because of my husband's job, he and the other men/women on his shift bust their behinds, put their lives in danger, etc., to arrest monsters such as this only to have the "justice system" (judges) to turn these people right back out onto the street, most of the time within 48 hours of their arrest.

oh no you don't - sirensong

Now is not the time for the right to get on their high horses and say wait a minute, lets review the facts. It is the kneejerk reaction that the right has been promulgating for years coming back to bite them on their flabby behinds. Don't change the rules in the middle of the game.

The political buck doesn't stop with Huckabee. With the allegation of rape alone of a 12-year-old girl, should have made the judges in Pierce County withhold bail on this scumbag.

Whether it was a bleeding heart dem or bleeding heart rep, it makes no difference to me, the laws need to be changed.

The justice system failed these four police officers, bottom line from the prosecutors in Arkansas to the justice system in Washington state.

And as a proud family member of LEOs, we have seen the justice system fail too many times. Changes need to be made immediately.

That's not why he let him go - but then again you already knew that

[ In Reply To ..]
He was interviewed and explained why he let him go. It had nothing to do with Jesus.

The absolute hatred for anyone who is republican or anyone who is relgious shines through in this post.

You shouldn't lump everyone into one group.

Not all democrats are bleeding heart liberals, and not all republicans are religious finatics.

If that's the only smile you had all weekend - well that is just pretty sad.

Correction: He didn't let him go, he reduced his sentance - but then again you already knew that (nm)

Now just wait a minute ~ sm - Confuzzeled

What I really hate is the injustice of the justice system in this country, and people telling me how I feel.

I do not hate all republicans or people who are religious. How you assumed that "shown" through is beyond me.

Huckabee has been criticized widely because of all the pardons and clemancies that he gave during his term ~ Clemmons isn't the only one who's gone on to bigger things. Our news cast were quoting the letter he had written to the govenor stating that he had found religion and turned his life around.

I spoke out of anger. Anger that innocent people were killed because someone thought he deserved a second, third, fourth etc. chance, even though his prison record was far from stellar, and he'd been involved in many crimes since being released.

As for my lack of smiles, well this happened not too far from my home. There was a massive search going on for a very dangerous person pretty much in my backyard. Four police officers were executed and left behind 9 young kids, all because our justice system failed to do it's job on many levels, Huckabee only being the first. Sorry, but was just not a joyous weekend up in my neck of the woods.
Some things to think about - but then again you already knew that

I didn't assume anything. Your post was misleading. The "now wait just a minute" should have been said to your statement of "Apparently all these lunatics had to do was write him and tell them that they'd found Jesus and he let them go" All I thought was "wow" she sure has something against people who believe in Jesus. Then your last statement of how you were able to tell your son this was a republican that made this happen made you smile, leads one to believe you don't think much of republicans. On top of that it came out that Huckabee did not even let him out. He reduced the sentence down from 108 years to 47. He didn't let him go, it was the parole board. Maybe someone should find out if the parole board members are republican or democrat. Either way somebody made a huge mistake. If anyone should be made accountable for what happened it should be the parole board AND those two judges who let him go (maybe find out what political parties they belong to), but Huckabee did not "let him go".

As for the people who let him go I don't care what political party they belong to. They made one huge mistake and they need to be held accountable. Crime has no political party.

I don't know anything about all the people Huckabee gave pardons and clemancies to during his term or the reasons for these. All I know is when he was interviewed he said he had reduced the amount to time from over 100 years to over 40. If the justice system had done its job the guy would still be in jail and the tragic loss of the police officers and all their families are going through right now would have not have happened.

People should be speaking out of anger because this should not have happened. Those judges who let him go should lose their license and I hope the families of the officers sue them. This should not have happened.

But to say "all they had to say was they found Jesus and he let them go" was not offensive, but just made me wonder why you would have said something like that.

I don't think it was a joyous weekend for people who lived in the area where this happened. I did not know you lived in that area, as you said nothing in your post about that. But saying that being able to say it was a republican's fault was the only thing that you were able to smile about leads one to believe you certainly are not in favor of republicans.

I'm sorry that I offended you. I wish you had written a little more about the situation.

This is so pathetic it makes me laugh - anon

Yes, Huckabee is out of the race. Fine with me. To me he is not a "stately" type of person who would make a strong leader. He's weak and his religion gets in the way of thinking (as we see happened in his aid of the cop killer incident - not blaming the whole thing on him, but he did have a part in this). On top of that he doesn't even have the decency to come out and say he was wrong, he just tries to make excuses. I don't like Sarah Palin for the same reason. She's a little too "preachy" and miss goody two shoes for my liking. I like some of her ideas, but no way do I want her in the WH.

What is so pathetic, however, is your obvious disregard of the fact that Palin has said she is not looking to run, and nobody in the republican party has said she would be a nominee. So nobody in the republican party and herself included, is saying she is going to be running in 2012. When someone says "I'm not going to be running in 2012" to me it means just that. When the people in the RNC say "we're not looking at her being a candidate in the 2012 race" to me it also means she will not be running. So the pathetic attempt to keep saying she is going to run is just that...pathetic. When someone tells you they are not going to run then drop it. It means they aren't going to run. There's no need to keep saying "oh she's going to be the nominee" when she herself, and the people running in the republican party has said she is not going to be a nominee. I think they learned their lesson the first time. What is equally pathetic is that the democratic party is really in the dog house because of what is in there now and the panic is so obviously blatant. 2010 is right around the corner where we expect to see most of the congress booted out. Then 2012 is not far after that, and the way the country is feeling right now it's going to be a one term presidency for him. The novelty is wearing off and the reality is sinking in to the country (democratic strategists words - not mine). A more correct statement (IF Obama was re-elected) would be 4 more years to destroy the country, destroy the constitution, and sink our country to a third world level. Although at the rate he's going with sinking the country into 12 trillion in debt within his very first year, and sending 30K more troops to their death (so far) I think he could actually succeed in destroying the country within his first four years.

So so pathetic. Pathetic you want this lie to be true. Pathetic you keep repeating the lie. Pathetic that the democrats don't have anyone decent for the 2012 election. Pathetic that the only way the democrats will win again is if she does run (which she's not). I'm still looking forward to seeing who the candidates will be for both side (although its' too early right now), but I think everyone is looking forward to the next race. It can't come soon enough. If they keep Obama in they are sure to lose the race.

Pathetic, pathetic, pathetic. But go ahead....keep thinking that. I'll just sit back and smile.

Just so it's understood - anon

Sarah Palin said in an interview with Oprah Winfrey that running for presidency in 2012 is "not on my radar."

Palin says 2012 run not on radar

In Palin Tour, No Sign of 2012 Run

Sarah Palin said in an interview broadcast Tuesday that a 2012 presidential bid is "not on my radar," but wouldn't rule out playing some role in the next presidential election.

"My ambition, if you will, my desire is to help our country in whatever role that may be, and I cannot predict what that will be, what doors will be open in the year 2012," she told Barbara Walters

Note - A "desire is to help our country in whatever role that may be" and "playing some role in the next presidential election" is not the same thing as "I'm going to run for President".
