Christie closed GWB as retribution. Anyone been following this

Posted: Jan 8, 2014

Looks like the sewage is creeping up to the governor's mansion.

I heard about it... - ZvilleMT

[ In Reply To ..]
but like most other things, I'm waiting for there to be proof Christie was behind it.

Agree, but the published emails of those so close to him - is not good for him

[ In Reply To ..]
Obviously not all the evidence has surfaced, but he is the captain of his ship/administration. His top aide was involved. That's close enough for me. These texts are really appalling. Paraphrasing one: These are the children of Buono voters (speaking of the kids on school buses).

People were sorely inconvenienced and emergency situations are being reviewed.

I give you it doesn't smell good... - ZvilleMT

[ In Reply To ..]
but I think if "I didn't know" is good enough for the President, it's good enough for Christie, at least until proof comes out that shows otherwise. Apparently one of the people have been fired or resigned already and the other person is being questioned tomorrow, so hopefully there will be some answers.
LOL. Was listening to Steve Schmidt interview as I read your post - :-)

on MSNBC

you both said the same thing at the "same time."

What you (both) said is true.
We'll see where it goes...
Oohh, that's creepy... - ZvilleMT
[ In Reply To ..]
Who is Steve Schmidt and do I want to be saying what he says? LOL!!:)
He was a McCain advisor. And IMO, a smart, entertaining guy. - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
Entertaining, not in a funny way, but in an enlightening way.
OK, that's cool then :) - ZvilleMT
[ In Reply To ..]
Thanks for the link! And the agreement! Kinda weird for this board :)
He's also a regular on MSNBC - old and burned out
[ In Reply To ..]
which is probably why so many of you don't know who he is. He was actually a campaign adviser for McCain/Palin.

He was GOP's best hope as presidential candidate...and now he's TOAST - wheres_my_job

[ In Reply To ..]
He can't run for president with this hanging around his neck. Just too close with that aide involved, and the comments in the emails. Where did they get the idea that this behavior was A) Okay and B) would never be found out? At the very LEAST, Christie set the tone and expectations for his staff...explicit and implicit....

I guess time will tell. I didn't take it as judgement. Educated prediction maybe. According t - current political atmosphere
[ In Reply To ..]
But if you're sources are different, I can understand where you're coming from.
I really dont't care either way, but I think he deserves - for the facts to be heard.

Educated by whom? MSNBC? - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
Repeating something that just is not true is not an educated prediction. You are mixing up wishful thinking with educated prediction. They are two different things.
I didn't mention MSNBC. - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
Maybe you don't agree with my opinion, but to incorrectly assume or predict mine or anyone's sources is unfair. I didn't criticize your sources, whatever they may be. I was actually respectful. Wishful thinking would be that I would be extended the same courtesy.
Actually, no - the primaries are pretty brutal - wheres_my_job
[ In Reply To ..]
THere's all the video footage of the bridge, there's the statements he made publicly, and then the emails...all his Republican opponents in the primaries will use it to their advantage, and knock Christie out of the running...people are already saying Christie's not a "true" or "real" Republican...so the Republicans will be merciless and relentless toward him...he can't get to the presidential race without making it out of the primaries. And I doubt he will make it out. Doesn't matter what the general voter thinks - it's his Republican adversaries to the right of him, that are his problem.
He is not (or was not) GOPs best hope - where did you hear that?
[ In Reply To ..]
The only place I've heard this is here on this board. Christy was never GOPs "best hope". Reading that kind of gives me the giggles if libs are trying to suggest that. There are quite a few others that the republican party is looking at. Everyone knew Christy was never going to run.

I do find it amusing that whenever someone is caught doing something all of a sudden everyone on the other side comes out with a statement that he/she was the party's "best hope".

As far as asking where anyone "gets the idea that this kind of behavior is okay or would never be found out" that's an easy one. From the democrats.

But now, if you think Christy was the GOPs "best hope", you also need to start getting your news from a different source.
If you are right, then that is awesome news for the dems - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
During his news conference today, at least once he referred to himself as a "candidate."

Polls are frequently taken pitting him against Hillary. She has not yet said she'll run either, so I guess it's hypothetical for both.

No one knows who is going to run on either side, and I'm sure my sources are different than yours, but he was pegged as one of the GOP frontrunners, and again according to what I read, the biggest threat to the Dems. Again, I know your mileage differs and that's fine. That is actually good. :D

Who, btw, is the GOP's "best hope"?
Him referring to himself as a candidate - does not equate to "best hope"
[ In Reply To ..]
Being a candidate in a presidential race does not equate to "best hope". It doesn't matter if who they put any candidate against. Loser Hillary of all people. She's always had the white house in her sick and twisted mind and always felt she should just be handed it. Her saying she was not going to run just enforced her pathological lying tendencies. Everyone knew she'd slime her way in.

So, if no one knows who is going to run on either side, how can someone be the "best hope"? Just because a name is mentioned doesn't mean they are the best hope.

Difference of opinions are always good. There should always be that. Would be pretty boring if everyone thought the same.

Through my sources I've heard other candidates talked about. Ones that the dems really need to be worried about, but I'm not going to mention who they are here. Not going to supply the fodder. All I'll say is in all due time they will be revealed. Dems need to be concerned. What they have done to the American people is not going to be forgotten this fall.
I think it's more reflective (referrig to himself as candidate) of how *he* perceives(d) - his own future
[ In Reply To ..]
and "best hope" is just a generic term for who's popular among those who are putting themselves out there at this early stage.
Best hope = can beat Democratic candidate - wheres_my_job
[ In Reply To ..]
Republicans have a problem, in that their primaries select candidates that are too conservative to win a general election. Christie would have had the most appeal in a general election. The other Republicans who have expressed an interest in running are too far to the right, their ideas are too extreme, even for your typical low-information voter. That's pretty extreme.

This isn't based on a single news source - it's based on the general consensus, as to why Tea Party, far right candidates lost in previous elections.
I laugh that... - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
...you attribute the term low-information voter to the Republicans when that phrase was coined with the Democrats in mind dating back to the 1990s. LOL!

Sorry, but post below yours got my attention. - NPC

[ In Reply To ..]
I realize some type of action may have caused a 4-day traffic nightmare, but I don't know if Christie himself has been proven to have hands-on involvement.

I'm confused what does the below thread have to do with - this one? nm

He/she asked if anyone was following the story. - NPC

[ In Reply To ..]
I was responding to the question. Why are you so testy?
Testy? I said I was confused. What's testy about asking a simple question? - p.s.
[ In Reply To ..]
I didn't mean to come off as confrontational. Sorry if it was interpreted that way. I just didn't get the connection. :-)

Since two of his top aides were involved - old and burned out

[ In Reply To ..]
it would be pretty hard to believe he did not authorize it. It's just not the type of decision an aide would make on his/her own.

Either way he looks bad - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
This story has been swirling around for quite a while. It's kind of hard to believe he didn't have a conversation with his closest aides and trusted circle before this morning or before the emails came out. And why would those so close to him think it would be okay to shut down lanes on a bridge to exact revenge?

To insist he knew nothing makes no sense. This isn't about an agency going rogue doing things at a distance, these are people he has close contact with on a daily basis.

Anyhow, I guess gives us all here some common ground! Conservatives don't like him and he's definitely the biggest threat thus far in 2016 for the Dems.

LOL - Any politician is a threat to the democrat party - nm

[ In Reply To ..]
You're funny.
Do you really believe that? Seriously, do you? Romney wasn't. - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
It makes me happy my post made you smile.

But probably only the aide(s) did it by email... - wheres_my_job

[ In Reply To ..]
there might be phone records that show calls around the time of the emails. but I doubt Christie would send an email about these things...although I'm hoping he did...

It doesn't matter. His close circle of trust. - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
IMO he knew. Even if he didn't order it, he knew way before today. If he didn't he should have. He's toast.

Border Agents 'Face Retribution' For Reporting Large Illegal Alien GroupsMar 21, 2015
Border Patrol agents gave eye-opening testimony on Capitol Hill last week, saying that they"face retribution" for reporting large groups of illegal immigrants. It's all over the news and internet. If this does in fact turn out to be accurate and he did know about the clsoure, this is more proof as noted by the poster below that both sides lie.
