Rick Perry aggressive with Ron Paul during debate commercial break. sm

Posted: Sep 8, 2011

Rick Perry went up into Ron Paul's face, grabbed his arm, and pointed his finger in his face.  Would love to know what was said.

He seems like a real loose cannon. - I don't think

[ In Reply To ..]
that foreign policy will be his strong suit either.

That is assault and he should be removed from the race - see message

You just don't do that if you are running for office. Typical union thug mentality. I used to think he was okay. Then I heard he was Gore's campaign manager so he's just a democratic stooge posing as a republican, using the democrat intimidation technique. Don't trust the guy and after doing that he should be removed from being a candidate. Hopefully Ron Paul will file a complaint.

Classic Perry. Ask any Texan. - It's just the tip of the iceberg.

[ In Reply To ..]
Loose cannon would be a gross understatement.

He's like another Bush but on steroids. We sure don't - need more of THAT! nm

This Texan loves our guv - VetMT

As a Texan, I am offended that you pretend speak for me. How can you imply that 25 million people, who have incidentally re-elected Mr. Perry numerous times to more than one office, think Rick Perry is a loose cannon?

Are you so used to having your mind made up by the leftist media propaganda that you feel free to state your notions as facts? It should have been obvious to you that most of us think Gov. Perry is capable and does us proud.

Liberals usually attack the opponent... - re: Texan

[ In Reply To ..]
that they fear the most.

I think Perry has them scared.
The liberals are letting you cannibalize - really.
[ In Reply To ..]
I don't think I have said one word about your possible candidates since Ms. Palin disappeared. Just enjoying watching you eat your own.
You're joking, right? If Perry gets the nod Obama is a shoe-in. - Nothing scarey about that.

Thanks for the laugh.

Some don't give a second thought to executing - an innocent and engineering a coverup,

OR

Slashing fire-fighting budgets in the peak of 2011 wildfires, then turning around and expecting US taxpayers to foot the bill, while grandstanding as the compassionate, apolitical emergency mangement wizard, or

Boasting about being a master jobs creator but omitting the minimum-wage, no-benes side of the story that did not budge unemployment rates in urban areas, or

Advertising himself as a tough immigration reformer out of one side of his mouth while sanctioning a secret slave sub-class for wealthy Texans out of the other, by exempting their maids and landscaping maintenance workers from the statewide "alien" roundup, or

A $16.1 billion cut to health and human services with millions of unemployed and underemployed plus another $10 billion in Medicaid cuts, while preserving long-standing tax shelters for business and bragging about how business friendly we are down in the Lone Star, omitting the not-too-human-friendly part, or

The $8.7 billion cuts to primary, secondary and higher education, then having the utter gall to get up on national television and claim the schools have "absorbed" this devastating blow. Never mind the ink is barely dry on the budget and the consequences have yet to manifest themselves as school just started, and BTW, let's not mention the ABYSMAL high-school drop-out rate, with a ranking of 43 out of 50, and only 61.3% of students enrolled in the 9th grade making it to graduation day, or

Speaking of education (and your reference to propaganda), how about that Texas Board of Education great textbook rewrite that attracted national attention and ridicule? You remember, when they turned school textbooks into GOP propaganda tools by mandating changes stressing the superiority of American capitalism, QUESTIONING the Founding Fathers’ commitment to a purely secular government and presenting Republican political philosophies in a more positive light? Yeah, baby. What we need is more dumbing down, or

Raiding the electricity assistance funds in the middle of a severe and protracted heat wave, specifically dedicated funds (or so they were SUPPOSED to be) earmarked to help the elderly and indigent with their electric bills. Never mind that the #1 cause of weather related deaths is the heat. He essentially froze those funds to make up for the budget shortfall, i.e., his prior fiscal mismanagement. Around August 1st, I tallied the statewide death toll from the heat which, if memory serves, was about 16 confirmed. I'm quite sure it higher by now since the number of consecutive 100-degree-plus days was unremitting until very recently...I could go on all night, but I want to show too many cards at once.

These are not notions. They are facts. Speaking of facts, 25 million people did not re-elect Perry (now who's trying to speak for others?)....more like 2,733,784. You find my comments offensive. Fine and dandy. I find the the NOTION that you would ignore all of the above, defend Perry and announce how he "does US proud" (again, who's trying to speak for us all?) equally offensive.

I will, however, amend my original statement and say that getting up in someone's face and wagging his finger is classic Perry as is the loose cannon depiction. Just ask any educated Texan who follows state politics, because after all, we DO have our share of village idiots, some more legendary than others.

I heard Rand Paul, Ron Paul's son interviewed last night - hmmm

[ In Reply To ..]
He said that all MSM argument to the contrary, no unkind words were exchanged between the two men and it was a "friendly" exchange.

Like Newt Gingrich said the other night, you liberals are just dying to get the Republicans to fight one another.

Had your take on the situation even been the case, I would rather a President not afraid to stick his finger in someone's face, than have one bowing in subservience to every other world leader.

I recall Rand hires head stompers - He's your man!

[ In Reply To ..]
Why am I not surprised?

That's odd. Ron Paul claimed he "didn't remember" - what Perry said.

[ In Reply To ..]
Judging by the picture, it didn't look all that friendly, especially since it's not the first time I've seen him use that gesture. Can't recall Perry ever doing so to express friendship. Guess Rand kinda makes it up as he goes along.

The repugs need no help from liberals when it comes to in-fighting. The TPs have already managed to run off the more level-headed moderates from the party. We have countless republicans who refuse to identify with the TP and equally as many tpots who refuse to call themselves republicans. Perry is notorious down south for stirring the pot and takes none too kindly to constructive criticism, regardless of where it's coming from. He is also known to be quite vengeful with his political foes, but I'll save the details on that story for another time. He will definintely shake things up in that respect.

There is a really good read I can recommend on the subject, fresh off the press called, "Reflections of a GOP Operative Who Left the Cult," a tell-all expose by former GOP Congressional staffer, Mike Lofgren. I know this lib is content to stay on the sidelines, watch this circus unfold and cozy up with a good book.

That you would prefer a bully over a diplomat comes as no surprise.

The Big Problem For Rick Perry And The GOP Tea PartyAug 16, 2014
I've really heard it all now.  The GOP Tea Party thinks it's perfectly fine for their "golden boy" from Texas to abuse his power and use coercion to force an elected official in Texas to resign from office or he would withhold funds.   Rick Perry publicly stated:  "I don’t think the citizens of Texas can trust you with $7.5 million dollars, so I am not going to give you $7.5 million dollars of Texans money.
