I can hardly believe my granddaughter will be turning five next month. My daughter asked me what foods would be a good idea. There will be ice-cream and cake, of course, but I've drawn a blank, as most kids won't eat more than 2-3 foods anyway, at least my kids wouldn't at that age. Anyone with any suggestions would be most appreciated!

Even now at 19, my daughter still expects to see those at food-included events and get-togethers. They are a fun family staple, and such a simple pleasure.
We have mixed flavors and colors, built a Christmas tree out of star-shaped jigglers, spelled out our names, made jello pancakes with whipped cream for "syrup" ...
You aren't limited to cookie cutter shapes. Take a plastic knife and carve to your imagination's delight.
I personally would not make this an activity at the party with a bunch of little kids, but it is a great one-on-one activity and you could make it "yours" -you and she over the years.
There's always room for Jell-O !!
