I'm sitting here gnawing on a porkchop bone right now, leftovers from last nights stuffed porkchop meal. I cut a pocket in the chops and stuff with cornbread, apple and sausage stuffing and bake. I served it with mashers, pork gravy and greenbeans and applesauce. Yummmm

Must be a major pork chop craving running rampant tonight, LOL!
We get the king cuts, which are really thick, and we've found Shake N Bake is best at keeping the moisture in. We're not much on carbs so we're having ours with fresh green beans.
Dinner in an hour...and I'm already starving, LOL!

This dish won my husband's stomach when we were dating! :) Best served with mashed potatoes. I usually double the gravy part of this as it makes the best gravy!
SAUCY PORK CHOPS
6 pork chops, browned in a small amount of oil
Salt & pepper
Top chops with slices of raw onion.
Mix in a bowl:
1 can cream of chicken soup
1/4 c. ketchup
2-3 tsp Worchestershire sauce
Pour over chops in frying pan & simmer covered 45 minutes.
Enjoy!
Sounds yummy. Think same recipe would work - with chicken? nm

I'm sure it would work for chicken. You maybe wouldn't need to cook it quite so long, possibly 30 minutes or so...Just guessing!
Ok. Got on the ingreadients on the ready, got the spuds - peeled. Cant wait to try it. nm

Yummo with chicken - SM
[ In Reply To ..]
Except I ran out of patient waiting for the chicken to brown, so I mixed all the sauce ingredients (double everything for double the amount of sauce, which was a great idea) together, poured it on the chicken, covered and cooked. It is a bit different than your regular sauce, which is a good thing. I get tired of the same stuff all the time. Anyway, good dish.
Glad it worked for chicken....sm - MT55

It is such a good, lump-free gravy. Thanks for the update!

a Dijon mustard sauce recipe that I found by googling. My daughter and I liked it, my husband was "it's okay, but not too often." :0 Anyhow, thank you for the responses. I would love the stuffed pork chop, but being gluten intolerant and trying to count carbs too, that was too much. Unfortunately, I can't use anything with Campbell's soups because of bad reactions to MSG. Everything I make, more or less, has to be from scratch including the soup base. I'll just have to keep experimenting and see what I come up with...:0 Thank you again.
Maybe make gluten free white gravy base, flavor with - chicken buillion and go from there? nm

Roast Chicken recipe....and sorry, I can't have those from the store deli, etc. ...sm - Duchess

Here is how I do mine...
1 Whole chicken, washed, rinsed, and patted dried, be sure to remove giblets.
1/4 cup unref. olive oil
1 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. poultry seasoning
1 tsp. sea salt
1 tsp. black pepper
1 onion, quartered.
1 carrot, quartered.
1 celery stalk, quartered.
Rub olive oil and spices all over chicken. Take the pieces of the onion, celery stalk, and carrot and stuff inside the chicken. Place chicken in a 9x13 casserole dish, add 1/3 cup of water and 1 tbsp. of flour. Place in preheated oven of 350 degrees F. Bake for one and one-half hours. It has not failed yet. Always moist, always flavorful and doesn't make me sick like the deli bought, rotisseried (sp?) chicken.

My kids love these pork chops and ask for them every week. They always come out very tender and delicious -- AND, they're easy to make! I just love apples or pears with pork!
- 1 (15 ounce) can pear halves
- 6 (3/4 inch) thick bone-in pork chops
- 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon prepared mustard
Directions
- Drain pears, reserving the juice; cut pears into slices and set aside. In a large skillet, brown the pork chops in butter. Transfer to a greased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking dish.
- In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, mustard and reserved pear juice. Pour over chops; top with pear slices. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees F for 40-45 minutes or until a meat thermometer reads 160 degrees F.
This sounds interesting...sm - Duchess

Thank you! I'll have to give this one a try. We have applesauce as a side sometimes with our Pork chops... I just never seem to get them that tender. Sometimes, they are, sometimes they aren't....frustrating..:0

Need Help With A Recipe - Spinach Stuffed ChickenMay 27, 2012Tonight I am going to try making spinach stuffed chicken breast and would like to know if this sounds right or what you would do to add or change it. Kind of making it up as I go and here and there from recipes.

The Perfect Baked PotatoDec 31, 2011I was watching a cooking program on publlic TV and found out how to make the Perfect baked potato. I tried it, and it IS perfect.
