MEXICO CITY (AP) — U.S. officials confirmed Monday that an American citizen was found dead in northern Mexico.
The U.S. Embassy said the body of Ronald C. Ryan was recovered in Sonora state, across from Arizona, but gave no other details.
Jose Larrinaga, spokesman for Sonora state prosecutors, told reporters Sunday that Ryan's body was found the previous day partially buried near a creek on the outskirts of Santa Ana, a city 60 miles south of Nogales, Arizona. A cause of death had not been determined and the body was taken to the border city of Nogales, Mexico, for an autopsy, he said.
Larrinaga said Ryan, 67, of Phoenix, Arizona, had been reported missing May 3.
State police had reported detaining three men the following day who had left Ryan's pickup truck at a carwash in Santa Ana. Officers seized several automatic rifles, dozens of bullets and marijuana from the men, ages 18, 20 and 21, state police said.
Local media said two of the men are the son and a nephew of Jose Vasquez Villagrana, an alleged key operator of the Sinaloa cartel who was arrested in February.

IF, and yes this has to be confirmed, it was illegals who did this, IMHO, this hammers home the need for the law that is now present in Arizona. There have been numerous reports of people and families going missing along the borders of Mexico with the suspicion that it is the cartel and/or illegals who are involved with it.

1. Leadership and enforcement of the existing laws. If our government has not enforced the existing laws, why should anyone expect they can or will with a much larger program. They have not earned America's trust and confidence to grant them program expansion.
2. Secure the borders. The southern border could be secured within two weeks.
3. Enforce immigration laws in the interior, not just near the borders where agents can ask anyone to verify their status. Refute the ACLU.
4. Mandate legal right to work verification for all employers. Prosecute employer violations. Presecute the fraudulent use of SSNs and all forms of ID fraud. Enforce the IRS laws equally with illegal aliens.
5. End $6B per year Birthright Citizenships.
6. End mandatory public education for the children of illegal parents.
7. End public housing, WIC, non-emergency medical care and other benefits for illegal aliens.
Ramp-up 287(g) training across the country. Local law enforcement must play a key role when illegals are caught in crimes, they must be reported to ICE.
8. End catch and release courts, remove sanctuary judges and prosecutors. Illegal aliens will not report for their court dates. ICE must deport illegal's caught in crimes, this is what they are paid to do. ICE can no longer "live in the shadows" from the public eye.
9. End Sanctuary City policies.

In Texas it is 27 percent; in New Mexico, 23 percent; in Colorado, 22 percent; California, 20 percent; and in Nevada, 16 percent. Eight of the 10 states with the highest percentage of illegal aliens in their total population are among the top 10 states in identity theft (Arizona, California, Florida, Texas, Nevada, New York, Georgia, and Colorado).
â€Â˘Children are prime targets. In Arizona, it is estimated that over one million children are victims of identity theft. In Utah, 1,626 companies were found to be paying wages to the SSNs of children on public assistance under the age of 13. These individuals suffer very real and very serious consequences in their lives.
â€Â˘Illegal aliens commit felonies in order to get jobs. Illegal aliens who use fraudulent documents, perjure themselves on I-9 forms, and commit identity theft in order to get jobs are committing serious offenses and are not “law abiding.”
â€Â˘Illegally employed aliens send billions of dollars annually to their home countries, rather than spending it in the United States and helping stimulate the American economy. In October 2008 alone, $2.4 billion was transferred to Mexico.
â€Â˘Tolerance of corruption erodes the rule of law. Corruption is a serious problem in most illegal aliens’ home countries. Allowing it to flourish here paves the way for additional criminal activity and increased corruption throughout society.
â€Â˘Leaders support perpetrators and ignore victims. Political, civic, religious, business, education, and media leaders blame Americans for “forcing” illegal aliens to commit document fraud and identity theft. No similar concern is expressed for the American men, women, and children whose lives are destroyed in the process.
â€Â˘The Social Security Administration and Internal Revenue Service facilitate illegal immigrant-driven identity theft. Both turn a blind eye to massive SSN fraud and take no action to stop it. The Social Security Administration assigns SSNs to new-born infants that are being used illegally. The IRS demands that victims pay taxes on wages earned by illegal aliens using their stolen SSNs, while taking no action to stop the identity theft.
â€Â˘State and local governments need to adopt tougher laws to supplement federal efforts. The Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is targeting large document fraud rings and the most egregious employers, but their resources are limited and stretched across multiple priorities. In 2007, identity theft cases represented only 7 percent of the total ICE case load.
â€Â˘Employers must do their part. They can ensure that they have a legal workforce by using a combination of the federal government’s E-Verify and Social Security Number Verification Service systems and by signing up for the federal government’s IMAGE program or privately conducted audits.
