You know what makes this country great?
That we can all have an opinion and express it.

My family is a big mix of republicans, dem, independents, mormons, christians and agnostics and you know what, we can all still love each other and RESPECT each others opinions. We even manage to have a big family event without stabbing one another (of course sharp knives and forks must be hiddent --haha).

I don't hate republicans or anyone else for the political party they embrace. that is ridiculous. I simply have a different belief system that does not hinge on blaming everyone who does not look or act like me for the ills of the world.

We are all victims of a bunch of unethical jerks who use vitriol to get us riled up and hating each other. It is sad to see how well it is working.

As to crazy people who decide to go on a shooting spree, I think their political alliances are the least of their problems.

Nothing ever gets done - all that ever happens on Capital Hill is the Dems and the Pubs fight, and try to derail each other's ideas, bills, etc. There has just got to be a better way. The elections need an overhaul, as well. No sooner are politicians elected to office (in EITHER party!), than they're already campaigning for re-election. Two years ago during the healthcare debate, the Tea Party was passionate in their insistence that government should keep their hands off Medicaid (never mind the fact that Medicaid is government run, socialized healthcare). Now that the Ryan plan has proposed phasing out Medicaid as we now know it for those who are 54 years old and younger, where is the Tea Party? I would think they would feel betrayed by the Republicans who ran in 2010 and promised to "protect" Medicaid. ...
