busy, busy politics

Posted: Apr 20, 2011

I thought I missed a lot of discussion since there's a ton of messages.  The only problem I had is when I started to read them.  There's just WAY too much name calling here for me right now, so I'm going to take a little break.  I'll miss the lively discussions that we were having before it got ugly.  I really do enjoy coming here but not to read that kind of garbage.  Life's too short, you know what I mean?

I'll see you soon - my political junkie friends!   Laughing

I'm with you. All legitimate conversation has been thwarted - SAM who is also leaving for a break

As you said, life is too short. I would add that I'm concerned that some of the discussion is even unhealthy. I don't want to be a part of it.

Then please start a legitimate conversation - and hope that the

thread does not get hijacked. Stay and help keep it on target.

There is no hope of a real conversation because Birthermania creeps in to each and every topic.
So, you cant resist name-calling again..nm - NiceGoing

they come again. If they hate that subject and those people that much, why do they keep bringing it up??
Take another look. It was one of you who - introduced that

I know the Trump thing got a lot of posts, but I thought we had started a pretty good thread below that. I was hoping to get around to your president question today, but too much work (I guess I shouldn't complain about that, but...). I hope you and icedT will reconsider - soon ;)

This has gone way past politics. - but it worked...

I give it a week... tops. That's plenty of time for at least one of the bozos running this country or trying to run this country to do something incredibly stupid to the point that if you don't come here and share, you'll bust! lol

I hope your break ends sooner than later. I appreciate your opinion (and your sanity). If you find a new board where the conversation is more constructive, please let me know.

Be good : )

Must be punching the time clock. - nm

Went to see my primary care physician yesterday, the first time in over a year, had been seeing his NP or whatever her title is. While there I discussed the events of the past year, also took MRI reports, etc. verifying some of these things that they could put in the chart and told him diagosed with polycystic kidney disease and he looked at a report from 2 years ago saying multipl ...

Keeping Kids Busy While They VisitMar 06, 2013
This summer I am hopefully going to have some little girls come and visit, sisters, one 9 and one 11. I hope they will be visiting for about 20+ days. I will be working part-time while they are here and interested in finding some activities to keep them busy while I am working. I am probably going to get Netflix but do not want to have them just constantly watching movies. I know they like to draw, write letters, do artsy stuff but other than paper, pens, crayons and the like, hoping to get som ...

agree that no matter the party we all love to see our athletes competing in the Olympics, including Ann Romney's horse.  I was wondering what others here would say was their favorite part of the Olympics.  I love watching all the competitions but my absolute favoite is at a US Gold medal ceremony when they play the National Anthem.  Canada is also my very close neighbor and "Oh Canada" is a favorite too when the Canadians win. ...

From a friend... ATTN: Trump dies in Jerusalem Donald Trump-45 passed away on a fact-finding visit to Israel. While he was on a tour of Jerusalem he suffered a heart attack and died. The undertaker told the American Diplomats accompanying him, 'We can have him shipped home for $50,000, or you can bury him here, in the Holy Land for just $100." The American Diplomats huddled in a corner and discussed their options for a few minutes. They came back to the undertaker and told him that th ...

The Trouble With Politics Is The Most Popular...smDec 18, 2011
politicians are the ones who tell their constituants what they want to hear even if they have to lie thereby leaving the honest politicians who tell their constituants the honest if painful truth out in the cold.  In politics, it seems that honesty is not always the best policy. Another Observation On The Politics BoardSep 20, 2012
I have been thinking how boring and pointless this Board has gotten in the last couple of months with the incessant Obama bashing and anything Democratic or liberal.   I noticed that apparently I am not the only one thinking this because next to each post there is the counter that says how often a post is viewed.  I notice that most original posts barely get over 50 hits and most secondary posts get maybe 10 to 25.  I did a random search of the achives and found that th ...

Does Hillary Know That She May Have Just Destroyed Her Career In Politics?Oct 16, 2012
By taking responsibility for the lack of security in Benghazi, I think she may have just blown her own future. Is she hoping that it will all be forgotten by 2016? What the heck was she thinking? To cover for the President and VP is absolutely the wrong thing to do. Hillary may have to share some of the blame but let's put the blamed where it belongs. Right at the top.
