Zimmerman juror speaks

Posted: Jul 16, 2013

Interesting the conclusions and ASSumptions this juror made in Zimmerman's favor.  She's either dumb as a rock or a stealth juror trying to further explain Zimmerman's story to go on national TV and tell her "story."  Also interesting is 3 jurors wanted to find Zimmerman guilty and they caved to find him not guilty.

Jurist said she did not believe Trayvon's friend, Rachael, could not understand her and found her not credible.  There was something condescending about her attitude toward Rachael. Can't figure why jurist would think a black girl from Miami would make up a story regarding Zimmerman following Trayvon since that is exactly what happened.  Could it be a "black" issue for this juror?

More protests and riots since the verdict reported this morning.  I can see why after listening to this juror's rationale and her attitude.  It is reported she has given up her idea of writing a book. LOL. She should go into hiding with Zimmerman, who she referred to as "George" throughout her interview, George with a "good heart."  I think the juror added insult to injury and inadvertently fanned flames.  I would advise this juror to never identify herself.

By the way,  watched Rachael on Piers Morgan and she did well. She said when looking at the jurors in court she knew they would find Zimmerman not guilty.

It's over and he was found not guilty. How come there was no big uprising when a white Marine was killed by 4 black guys in 2012? Didn't hear much about THAT for weeks, did you. The jury has ruled, and whether we like it or not, they followed the law and now we move on.

Get over it????? - It is current news ongoing.

Today, July 16, 2013, the major news media is covering this case big time and the outcome and blow-back from the verdict. This is not my idea to cover this case. Obviously others are interested or the media would not be covering the story. I did not force the juror to tell her story and her story is being reviewed this morning.

You can ignore current news and gab about whatever you want. Feel free to move onto something more mundane. Try the food channel or weather channel. I doubt they will be reporting on Zimmerman trial but most other major news outlets are and many people are obviously interested in the ongoing discussion.

I am sick to death of this case but I did watch the interview with the juror. I also found the way she called Zimmerman "George" throughout the interview disturbing, like they were good personal friends.. It was obvious she did not like anything about Treyvor Martin, not him, not his friends, not his family. She identified very strongly with "George" and it was so obvious.

All in all, though, I am not surprised by the verdict... I realized years ago there is no such thing as justice.

It's the new right-wing catchphrase. Seen it multiple times in Facebook - and Disqus replies, etc. (nm)

The reason there was no uprising in the example you cite is because everyone on the planet agreed this was a horrific crime. The perpetrators were sought and charged with felony murder.

If the uprising you were hoping to see was one where white people start a race war with black people, you would need to go back to the 1960s and prior - when outrage of this sort was more fashionable.

There was no uprising b/c the suspects were - arrested, charged with murder.

I hate to point out the obvious, but I guess sometimes it's necessary.

...and the black people are angry and running through the streets and destroying things. Okay, so that helps. Mmm-hmmm. I do not see the white folks who were against Zimmerman doing that.

So what if the black people are angry - Zimmerman got away with murder

[ In Reply To ..]
Perhaps things will change just like they changed back in the 50s and 60s. Black people have been through so much to get to the point they are now but the Zimmerman verdict brings time back where black people were second-class citizens, stereotyped and degraded.

I am white and I am angry too at the verdict but even angrier after watching that jury member interview. She needs to crawl under a rock and stay there.

My Point Is - You Are Not Disrupting Out in the Streets

[ In Reply To ..]
...and I am a little tired of people still angry at what our forefathers did hundreds of years ago. Black people in this country have just as much opportunity as white people. In fact, companies and schools are forced to take them even if they don't qualify.

So, get off of that already.
your points - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
This has nothing to do with what our forefathers did.

As for hundreds of years ago, black people were still fighting for their civil rights as recently as the 1960s, so it's not like we're talking about a throwback to ancient times.

Black people do not have just as much opportunity as white people. Schools were segregated right up until the 1960s. You think neighborhoods were integrated?

Companies and schools do not hire a-n-y-o-n-e who is not qualified.

Not one of your points is valid.
My point is they are bringing attention to - Zimmerman got away with murder
[ In Reply To ..]
The only reason he got away with murder is because it was a black kid. If you watch the juror's interview and listen carefully, she is very protective and identifies with George Zimmerman. She can't relate to a black teen. She is sympathetic to the Hispanic white man. She showed no sympathy to the black teen who was murdered. The reason is underlying racism and that is why black people are angry. It can happen again and again because Zimmerman got away with murder and there are lots of Zimmerman's out there ready to go after a black person because they have stereotyped black people just like Zimmerman did.
What our forefathers did? Did they acquit Zimmerman - who murdered a black teen?
[ In Reply To ..]
Our forefathers have nothing to do with current events. It is obvious when a white Hispanic murderer is set free after killing a black teen, we have not advanced from the mindset of black people being inferior or worth less than a white skinned person.

Companies are forced to take them even if they - dont qualify??..sm
[ In Reply To ..]
Now that was a racist statement if I have ever read one. And about black people being disruptive on the streets...what about skin heads & "White Power" gangs?

You said you were watching the news? So I take it you must miss out on a lot or are very selective in what you pay attention to. People of EVERY RACE act disruptive.
Ever hear of Affirmative Action? I did and that's probably what the - other poster meant by forced to take them.

verdicts. If you ever want to kill someone just to go Florida and make it look ever so slightly accidental, or in "self-defense" or have some screwy explanation and you too will be found not guilty. I thought he should at least get manslaughter. I don't think he followed TM with intent to kill, but his negligence caused TMS death. He disregarded instructions from the police, therefore his action of ignoring being told to back off caused TMs death. He chose to follow, he chose to pull the trigger. He couldn't have shot in him in the arm or leg to incapacitate him, not like he was not close enough. Too many holes and jury was not smart enough to see I guess.

Florida is not a joke - Florida allows people to defend themself

[ In Reply To ..]
FL is just a state who allows people to defend themselves. Heaven forbid that--imagine being allowed to kill someone if your life is threatened.

All this liberal craziness drives me nuts. I am proud to live in a state where a human being can shoot to kill if they are threatened. I don't care what color you are, you are not going to live if you threaten me or my family.

but self defense is allowed in all states of the union. That said, the right to self-defense is not equivalent to "being allowed to kill someone". There are plenty of instances where lethal force is against the law.
My Point Is - I will not get arrested...
[ In Reply To ..]
If someone here in FL comes at me with a gun, I can shoot him or her and not worry about the law coming down on me for defending myself. I know that all states SAY they recognize self defense, but not really. You're hauled off, the family tries to use, etc., etc. That doesn't happen here in FL. No cop is going to haul you off when it's clear you were defending yourself or your family.
I wouldn't count on that - sm

The laws are very strict in Central Florida. I feel safer here than I did when I lived in New York. I hate guns with all my heart, but I never had a problem when they passed the gun law. I am very proud of the way the people here behave.

The laws may be strict but criminals do not follow the laws. Dunno what it is in Florida but with Casey Anthony and Zimmerman freed by a jury of their crazy peers, I am scared to death to go to Florida.

I used to live in Florida and even after I moved, family would visit Disney every year, but you could not pay me to go to Florida now.

Watching news over the weekend and especially morning shows today,  it appears lots of protests and pressure on to file federal charges against Zimmerman.  It was brought up by white lawyer/commentator on Today show,  Lisa Bloom, that this indeed was a racial case with Zimmerman profiling black males in 5 previous 911 phone calls (in evidence), yet the prosecution did not want to suggest profling was an issue.  Surprisingly, the groundswell of protestors of the Zimmerman ve ...
