G. Zimmerman back in police custody

Not much info available at this time. The article doesn't actually state whether it was Z who had the gun. Given the history, I would assume so, but of course I could be wrong.

Editing to add that police are now saying this is a possible "domestic battery."

LAKE MARY, Fla. -

George Zimmerman has been taken into custody in Central Florida after an incident involving a gun with another person at the home of his estranged wife's parents.

Lake Mary police say they were called to a house on Sprucewood Road on Monday afternoon after a report that Zimmerman was involved in an altercation with another person.

Shellie Zimmerman's parents, David and Machelle Dean, live at the home, but it's not yet known who was involved in the incident with George Zimmerman.

Note that jurors are "triers of fact," and the judge is the trier of law. All jurors can do is evaluate the evidence and decide if the prosecution made its case. Yes, the law applies. No, the law applies. They don't get to decide the law itself.

You HAVE to follow the law. You cannot convict someone of a crime when there is no evidence to back it up no matter how much you want to. If you are going to send someone to prison you dang well better have the evidence to prove they did it.

suddenly Shellie decides not to press charges. Classic behavior in domestic abuse cases. I have personal experience with the fear and intimidation that results in no charges by the abused spouse. Makes me wonder what kind of threats he's made against her she has yet to reveal. I'd bet my next pay check no attorney advised Shellie of her rights before they released the armed hothead back out onto the streets to roam around freely until his next encounter with law enforcement. So glad I don't live in Florida.
