Romney rocked! Even CNN stated

Posted: Oct 3, 2012

64% of the votes came in and Romney won the debate according to CNN, NOT FOX NEWS.  I bet Obama missed his teleprompter and the person who writes his speeches.

I cannot believe Obama had to stutter and did not know the constitution and was trying to find words to say.  I cannot believe he has run the United States for the last 4 years.

I was actually proud tonight living in the United States after this debate.  Momentum was up and I am hoping for job creation.  If Obama wins, over 2 million military jobs will be lost.  More people unemployed starting Jan 2nd.  Geesh, Obama will not even let Lockheed Martin announce who will be laid off until AFTER the election and Obama administration does not even care if they have to pay fines and legal fees because they are ignoring the WARN ACT.  I do not want a President like that running our country.

;

He creeped me out. Anyone else notice the look in - his eyes never matched what - SM

[ In Reply To ..]
his mouth was saying? Cover the mouth and look at the eyes only, and they had that similar glazed-over, maniacal look Charlie Manson used to have.

Funny - I had the same reaction - about Obama's eyes!

[ In Reply To ..]
Everytime he looked directly at the monitor, I had to avert my gaze. Creepy.

I didn't. When he was serious, his eyes were. When - he was laughing, his eyes did.

[ In Reply To ..]
I kept looking at Romney and wondering what was causing that odd affect. I guess the best description I can find for the oddness was that he didn't act like he believed what he was saying.
I think that's a good interpretation. I couldn't put - my finger on it. NM

[ In Reply To ..]
I agree, everybody's eyes were fine.
Has nothing to do with being grown up. It was simply - reading facial expression (or lack thereof).
[ In Reply To ..]
We subconsciously read body language and facial expressions intuitively. Even babies learn to do it at an early age. Women, who tend to be more perceptive of the nuances of body language and facial expression, are particularly adept at it. It has a lot to do with our inate "gut feelings", which are often dead-on accurate. And as an independent voter, my "gut" is reacting big-time to Romney's strange, almost robotic demeanor.

Call it a hunch, but I watch and listen to him and hear "Danger, danger, Will Robinson" every time. 2 + 2 just does not add up to 4 with this guy.

Is Obama perfect? Far from it. But since there is no Independent party candidate to choose on the ballot, I'm spooked enough by the "Robot-ney" persona that I'm leaning far to the left at this point.
Yes, I understand. - RC
[ In Reply To ..]
It wasn't so much a response to facial expressions as it was to people saying "oooh, so and so has creepy eyes," which just reminds me of elementary school.

Obama's eyes - beyond creepy, scarey!

and we should be scared.

At least he had the good grace not to LOL in Mitt's face.

I heard Romney's main goal last night was to try to get O to lose his temper and his cool. FAIL!

Bizarre comparison.... - SK1

You compared a presidential candidate to a mass murderer? That's not only horribly disrespectful, it just sounds plain desperate.

And you do know that Charles Manson is still alive, right?

He was just upset because his honey was in the audience and it was his anniversary - backwards typist

[ In Reply To ..]
I really, really think he's a henpecked hubby. He gave me that impression a couple of times over the past 4 years and tonight, during the debate, I think when he was looking to the side, he was addressing Michelle only hoping she'd give him the strength to fight back. Didn't happen.

He rocked alright....sm - JTBB

[ In Reply To ..]
He was energetic, determined, and bullied the moderator (which was actually kind of funny) all while denying everything he's been campaining on for the last year and a half. I think Obama just gave him enough rope to hang himself.

BTW, what is Romney's tax plan? Oh wait..that's right...it's the other thing that's just to long and complex for him to be bothered to explain...(rolling eyes).

He forgot to mention that all those jobs he says he'll - "create" will be in India. Minor detail

[ In Reply To ..]

Nice try - sore loser

United States workers had to work mandatory weekend while India was off celebrating with Obama.

Once again...blaming Romney for - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
something Obama himself has been guilty of. I'm sorry but I've heard very little specifics from Obama since day 1. So you wanna complain about Romney not having a tax plan....Obama has been president for almost 4 years now and I still don't know what his tax plan is other than tax the rich.

MSNBC is even screaming about how Obama didn't do so great.

As for Romney "bullying" the moderator...I would too since the moderator seemed to have no problem with letting Obama ramble on and on without actually answering a question while he interrupted Romney every time the man spoke.

I guess we will just have to see if the numbers change...as I'm guessing they will after the debate.

Bravo Romney. About time someone stuck it to Obama without walking on eggshells. Obama is so used to softballs from the press and others that he just couldn't handle someone actually calling him out on his lies. Booyah!

Obama has a record....sm - JTBB

[ In Reply To ..]
He has bills he has passed and more that are ready to go just as soon as he gets some adults in congress. All Romney has is web site that is ridiculously vague on specifics, a campaign that has lasted over a year and a half, and now a completely different plan/ideas from what he's been campaining on. Putting Romney in the white house is like picking a wild card.
Yes, Obama has a record - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
A record of adding $6 tril to the deficit (the same deficit he promised to cut in half during his '08 campaign). A record that shows the slowest economic growth since the great depression. A man who blames Bush for everything and yet extended the Bush tax cuts while saying he is going to tax the top income earners in America. So which is it? Obama's healthcare was passed without much transparency and back room deals with Pelosi stating we had to pass it to see what was in it...talk about vague. This is a president whose own political party voted down his budget. This president said he wouldn't tax the middle class and yet those opting out of Obamacare will be taxed for it (as stated by the supreme court) Putting Obama BACK in the WH is like shooting yourself in the foot!
He sure does have a record.... a BAD one, - probably why he stunk tonight. nm

Gee, I thought Romney's website had plenty of stuff on it. - backwards typist
[ In Reply To ..]
I think you just don't want to read all his plans so you state his website is vague on specifics.

Obama has been campaigning for the past 4 years or didn't you notice....and all on the taxpayer's dime. I know he wants to tax the rich, force everyone into a government health plan, and play Mr. Nice Guy to every country who hates us...which is now making those countries bolder.

Yes, he loves his wife and they've been married 20 years as of the debate night and he wished he was on a date night instead of debating someone! That much was stated and guess what. He didn't want to be in the debate because he really, really couldn't mention any of his "accomplishments" because he knew Romney would be able to come back and shoot them all down.

Face it. Obama is only good on the trail, not against another politician...and hopefully, we'll only have to put up with him for another 3 months.

Keepin' my fingers crossed (even though I'm not real thrilled with Romney).

So now it's the moderator? Let's see, the - media is biased, the SM

You expected Romney to explain his tax plan in 2 minutes? - backwards typist

[ In Reply To ..]
Can't be done.

He didn't bully the moderator either. When Obama went over HIS 2 minutes (which he often did) and kept on talking, Romney had the right to ask for the same amount of time for his answer.

What debate did everybody watch? Romney is a liar, period. Obama may have not gone for the jugular, but for people who know what Romney's positions are, we had to put on our boots cuz Romney's BS was thick!!! Romney, "NEVERMIND what I've been espousing these last 2 years, I just wanna now sound like I care about the 47%." The problem for Obama is that the rest of the electorate who is uninformed will actual believe the BS!

[ In Reply To ..]
Does not mean he will win the election. I think Mitt clearly came off as being very comfortable while lying his way to the finish line. While I agree with you and many others that Mitt won the debate, I will still cast my vote for President Obama because I think he is aware of what Americans who are not filthy rich are going through, and Mitt Romney does not have a clue.

I truly get so tired of hearing how Romney - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
doesn't get how Americans feel. Obama was raised outside of our country by an anti-America mom to be sent to Hawaii to live with his white grandparents. I don't recall Obama living in the hood. Obama went to good colleges and is now rich himself. So please explain to me how Obama gets the American people? I'm just not buying that complete load of BS.

You know what else Obama doesn't get...business and that shows rather obviously since we have so many on unemployment and so many who have just dropped out of the workforce entirely. This administration has done very little or anything to help businesses. Obama just doesn't get it! Romney knows what it takes to promote business growth (not government growth) which in turns hires more people and creates more tax revenue. Pretty simple actually. Obama's cluelessness was exposed when he said the private sector was fine.

Just because Romney is rich...doesn't mean he doesn't know how to help our economy so businesses create more jobs that hire more people who pay taxes and creates more tax revenue.

What? Maybe Obama has a clue what we are - going through, but NO clue how to fix it !!! nm

[ In Reply To ..]
I hadn't intended to watch the debates, but couldn't help myself and was glad I did.

It was good to be able to hear Romney outside of an interview of 30-second advertisement and I thought that the interactions between the two were interesting.

An incumbent is always at a disadvantage in debates as they have an existing record that can be attacked. I thought Romney did a brilliant job at that last night. Obama has a lot to defend regarding his presidency and I don't think he did it very well during the debate.

As for the "empty promise" statements I've read here, I'm not sure how anyone can know that. When Obama ran for office the first time, we had nothing more than that, also. How do you disprove or prove an as yet unfulfilled claim?

Romney will never be Mr. Personality. He can be awkward and stilted. If one votes for, as someone here recently posted, "a cool president," Romney is definitely not your man.

After last night, I think that the staunch Romney supporters will be fired up for their candidate and the staunch Obama supporters will have heard nothing to change their mind. And I think the debate gave the "middle of the road" people some substance to think about.

I would expect that Obama campaign advisors will be beating him about the head and neck after last night's debate and he will be more likely to come out swinging in the next one. I don't think he expected to be hit by Romney the way he was and he appeared to be to be unprepared for it. He was definitely uncomfortable. Next time, I think he'll be better prepared.
