Okay, exactly who ARE the 47% Mr. Romney claims

BTW, Mr. Romney's 47% of people who end up paying NO FEDERAL INCOME TAX is already out of date. It has dropped to about 46% under current policies and is expected to fall to 44% in 2013, under current policies.

@50% are employed people, but low income, who do pay employment taxes. (No doubt many MTs fall in this group he won't be bothering about these days.)
@22% are seniors, i.e., most retired workers, living on limited incomes. (Most of us will be there too soon.)
@15% qualify for child and earned income tax credits, the child deductions benefiting families up to $50K/yr.
@13% for special deductions, including education, capital gains, itemizing. Most of this group are in the middle and upper tax brackets.

Republican candidates in other races on the ballot in November are distancing themselves and saying that the 47% is not their philosophy. In other words, don't associate me with Romney: Susana Martinez, Dean Heller, Scott Brown.

Free country! Think what you want. But the consensus is (including Republican pundits, newspeople, and politicians) that Romney's comments were devastating.

Also, service people overseas are exempt from income tax. Their ballots went out today.

His words were just taken out of context - he was talking about the current situation in the world and citing some information and the world goes crazy. I am myself on food stamps and assistance in this crazy world, even though I am working. Never did I think it would be me, but I'll be damned if I don't try to survive until the economy strengthens. At least I am not one of those of the percentage that just sits on the arse and collects due to laziness. Walk a mile in someone's shoes before you point fingers at a simple statement made that was just conversation. At least he didn't promise the Russian president that he would be able to "act more freely" if he won his second term as Obama did. Now, why wasn't anyone up in arms about that?

I'd rather take a chance on the unknown, altho I am not too crazy about either candidate. But I sure as heck don't want Obama to get another 4 years - he's not on our side either. He wants to reduce us to a third world country - and he has had a nice 4 year start. He is doing a good job at reducing us as a former super power.
