So how's Romney doing? ...sm

Romney is doing just fine - what if - sm

I could find a ton of stuff on Obama too, but don't have the time.

Romney is doing just fine and I agree with the article. If people don't like him who cares. Just like Obama. If people don't like him who cares. I like Romney. I like his experience. I like that he cares about everyone in the country and not just a select few. I like that he knows how to get jobs created. I like that he won't pull the race card every time someone disagrees with an issue.

So...all in all Romney is doing just fine. Thanks.

You are absolutely right....sm - JTBB

He does know how to create jobs, just not in this country. If he cares so much for everyone in this country, then explain his outsourcing record. He won't play the race card? Seriously? Does the word FOREIGN ring a bell?

Well at least we agree on one thing - what if - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
He knows how to create jobs. Period. Something the current guy does not understand the concept of. We have seen the highest outsourcing of jobs during these last 3-1/2 years than as long as I can remember. Obama does not have the knowledge (or even cares) that he does not understand job creation for Americans. Jobs continue to go Overseas. I am hopeful that under a new administration more jobs will start to come back. Romney understands this and understands America and Americans are in tough times right now. Something your guy doesn't understand. He think the private sector is doing fine and just hunky dory.

No Romney will not pull the race card. Does the word BLACK ring a bell? How about HALF BLACK? How about you disagree with that policy? YOUR A RACIST. Does that ring a bell? (P.S. foreign is not a race).

If Romney can create jobs for Americans and hire people who know how to create jobs that's who we should be voting for. Not someone who doesn't understand basic economic 101, doesn't care that Americans jobs are being outsourced and he thinks people losing their jobs and homes are "doing just fine".

please explain why the republican party just voted down a bill which would have effectively brought jobs back into the US.
Can't explain that. - what if - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
Can you explain why Obama has not brought any jobs back and continues to ship them overseas?

I don't want to hear that he's doing everything he can, but those republicans are blocking him. If he wanted to bring jobs back he would. He is not and he has not tried anything to bring jobs back. 3-1/2 years later and he has done nothing. During the last campaign he said he would bring jobs back. Now here it is another campaign and he's talking as though this is all new. What happened to the promise he made us last election?
Actually...sm - JTBB

Obama has continually fought to eliminate tax breaks for those companies who do outsource, but again, whether or not you "want to hear" it, the party of No has blocked with filibusters, poison pills, stalls, etc.

If you really want to see who the obstructionists are, try watching the CSPAN broadcasts. These are the actual real-time House and Senate proceedings without any spin. I have seen Harry Reid go off on tangents that have nothing at all to do with what was presented (as well as Nancy Pelosi). I have seen Reid's own party members get up and BEG him to stay with the agenda and on topic. Sort of like this board...LOLOL. Harry Reid refuses to allow votes, even when begged by his own members, on issues sent from the House. Reid has made it his mission to protect Democrats he is worried about and give them "cover"...Reid's words. Reid, with the help of Pelosi, has blocked approximately 40 pieces of legislation for job growth, bills to bring jobs back to USA, repatriation, health care, social services, tax credit/reduction for middle class...you name it. Reid will not even allow it on the floor for discussion, simply because they did not write it, a Republican did. How fair is that to any American for Reid to pick and choose what will be voted on. Regardless of how popular the issue is with Americans, if Reid does not like it for whateve reason, he refuses the voted. Reid is one very, very strange man.

You will never get the truth by what appears on this board. You have to go the source. There are too many sound bites, talking points, media bias on here that have nothing to do with reality. I watched a segment yesterday regarding taxes and what the Democrats are proposing. The only one that made any sense at all was Sessions (R). If Democrats have their way, the tax rate for what Democrats consider "rich" goes to as high as 78%...and the figure in these hearings the Democrats consider "rich" keeps dropping. Literally, every small business owner is going to be taxed and regulated right out of business with resultant massive lay offs. l prefer going right to the horse's mouth and it is ugly.

What you see on the Lame Street is so twisted, slanted and full of lies, it is unrecognizable as to what actually took place. As soon as I read the attacks on here that are so common against certain news stations, I immediately move on, as they do not contain truth, just what the Democrats list as talking points.

[ In Reply To ..]
but it usually makes me so mad - I mean, these are the people we elected to represent us! All I see is a bunch of people representing their own interests and then 6 months for thier term is up trying to save thier jobs.

I've often wondered about how the head of the senate can pick and choose what comes up for a vote, too - I know that's the way it's always been done, but how can that be right?

Been taking a break from the news scene lately - I couldn't watch anything more about Colorado - just made me too sad.
Thanks Conservative - what if - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
On the rare occasion I do watch anything news wise I turn to CSPAN to see what is going on. I'm with Zville. It makes me mad too that these are people who were elected because we thought they would represent us, but then watching and reading what they do, you realize they are only there to serve themselves.

It is on CSPAN where I see democrats blocking anything republicans try to pass. I see the obstructionism on the democrats side. I see people not compromising or working with the other side. There are a lot of liberals here who will not admit that their party fillibusters and obstructs anything a republican tries to pass, but all you have to do is watch CSPAN to see it with your own eyes. It's maddening that politics has turned what would be good human beings into hateful spiteful people who thrive on hating the other side. They accuse the other side of what their own party does (this goes for both sides). just don't get why so many love to hate.

I do like CSPAN. It's an eye opener. It was also where I saw Winer have his melt down and go off. I did find that quite amusing though :-)

First of all - Obama
[ In Reply To ..]
cannot bring jobs back by himself. He has tried to remove incentives to companies that outsource job overseas, but is stopped by the pubs. Remember, companies outsource jobs, not Obama. How can he bring jobs back when companies continue to get incentives to outsource? As far as the promise that he made before, ask the pubs why his promise failed?

Did you know that outsourcing actually started when Ronald Regan was in office?
The reason stated was that Reid said there could be - no amendments from the republicans.
[ In Reply To ..]
I'm not saying it's right and I certainly don't agree with what they did, but it's yet again another example of failure to compromise.
Exactly.....sm - JTBB
[ In Reply To ..]
Republicans wanted to add an amendment to the Bring Jobs Home Act that would repeal the Affordable Care Act. In other words, they wanted to trade off health care for offshoring. If that amendment was not allowed, then pubs would not sign on to it. What a choice huh?

FYI: That's called a "poison pill." If you don't want something to pass, you add an amendment to it that will make it such that nobody will pass it. How many dems do you think would have voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act?
And if Reid had compromised and put up the House bill - repealing Obamacare for a vote,
[ In Reply To ..]
the rebuplicans might have voted for the jobs bill - see, give and take. Who knows how many dems would have voted to repeal the bill - Reid never put it up for a vote. It's all about compromise.
Yeah....you missed the point - JTBB
[ In Reply To ..]
The only reason they tried to add the amendment was to try to "undo" anything Obama, keeping to the promise that stopping Obama from doing anything and preventing him from getting re-elected was their main priority. Obviously, the agenda of trying to ensure Obama is a "one-term president" is more important to them than people's jobs or healthcare. There's your compromise.
No, you keep missing - my point.
[ In Reply To ..]
I'm trying to point out how there's no compromise, but you seem intent on everything being the evil republicans' fault, so my point would be mute even if you did get it.

Nice chatting with you.

how the alphabet sisters, if they are not attacking someone outright, posting ignorant, rude and sarcastic remarks, immediately their old standby is "you missed the point" when they are the one clueless. Other than parading around as make-believe Debbie Wasserman Schultz, not good for much else. Libs totally incapable of any discussion without the snark. Too bad they are not as "funny" in real life, as they are in their little minds. Someone needs to tell them their mind is a terrible thing to waste...but they would miss the point no doubt.

Brits go from open arms to skepticism to overtly mocking Mitt - in less than 24 hours.

[ In Reply To ..]
I knew it would be really, really bad, but he's exceeded my wildest expectations.

Romney to Cameron: Olympic security problems “disconcerting. “It’s hard to know just how well it will turn out.” Turns out the security problems he's referring to are a direct result of OUTSOURCING of security to private firms. That role was formerly performed by competent federal union workers, according to British press.

Cameron to Romney: "We are holding an Olympic Games in one of the busiest, most active, bustling cities anywhere in the world. Of course it's easier if you hold an Olympic Games in the MIDDLE OF NOWHERE." Ouch!

Romney to Mr. What’s-His-Name (AKA: Labour Leader Ed Miliband): “Mr. Leader.” Mr. What’s-his-Name (who refrained from calling Romney “Mr. Candidate”) was gracious to observe the foreign policy/diplomacy intern was trying to call him by his title, which he only got half right. Guess “labour” is a 4-letter word he doesn’t dare utter.

NATIONAL SECURITY LEAK ALERT (just days after he promised he would never do that): Mitt blabbed to the press about his “secret” meeting with the head of Britain’s intelligence agency, John Sawers. That meeting never appeared on any official schedules that were made public since it is not customary to disclose running commentary with top level intelligence officers. He gave specific details about which countries they discussed. The Guardian explained the faux pas this way: The British take on the national secret intelligence service comes with an extra-heavy dollop of the whole secret thing. The very existence of the MI6 was not officially acknowledged until 1994. Bad form, Mitt. Really bad form.

The feed from a new RomneyShambles Twitter account looks something like this:

Daily Mail political editor James Chapman: “Mitt Romney is perhaps the only politician who could start a trip that was supposed to be a charm offensive by being utterly devoid of charm, warmth, humour or sincerity.”

“Can this get any worse for Romney? London’s Mayor Boris Johnson is now mocking him in front of 60,000 people in Hyde Park.”

“Serious dismay in Whitehall at Romney debut. ‘Worse than Sarah Palin.’ ‘Total car crash’. Two of the kinder verdicts.”

“Do we have another Dubya on our hands?” [SARC]

Romney was branded a 'wazzock' (which the Urban Dictionary defines as 'an idiot or daft person') after he QUESTIONED BRITAIN'S DESIRE TO HOST THE GAMES!

GOP stateside response has been every bit as interesting. Charles Krauthammer’s scathing critique: What Romney answered in that question was unbelievable, it’s beyond human understanding. It’s incomprehensible. I’m out of adjectives. All the man has to do is say nothing. Nothing. All he has to do is show up and say wonderful stuff about his hosts….It’s like a guy in the 100-meter dash. All he has to do is to finish, he doesn’t have to win. And instead, he tackles the guy in the lane next to him and ends up disqualified. I don’t get it.

Romney’s surrogates mustered all the GOP-style diplomacy they could find, simply dismissing the entire thing by saying, “Americans don’t care about what the FOREIGN press thinks.” Nice job.

Not to worry. I bet he’ll do "just fine" at the fundraiser. That’s the only thing that really matters, huh?

race card? - ctmt

I know of no instance in which Mr. Obama played the race card. It's unlikely that Mr. Romney will pull the race card either, as it appears to me he is white.

We don't yet have the name of the card Romney is pulling, which enables him to seek the highest political office in the land in the absence of full disclosure and personal accountability.

At one time I was behind Obama all the way. I really believed he could turn this economy around, Ha, Ha. Well wrong on that one. Then maybe he really does care about the business people -- mainly small business. Recently he clearly said that anyone who owns a business did not do this on his own. Somebody helped you get into business -- not sure if he means your father or ancestors who previously owned your business or maybe he means the banks who loaned you the money to have a business. Anyway that was kind of an insult to the small business man. We still have tough regulations for small business people and workman's compensation that would strangle most businesses. Oh and if that is not enough to kill your business, how about adding on ObamaCare. Yep I think that will do the trick -- no more business, hmmmm. Also our government is slashing many programs for disabled and the poor, as always. So maybe voting for Obama would not be such a great idea. No new jobs, small business on the brink of disaster. Big business is not creating any jobs either. People are afraid to spend what little money they have -- no new cars being bought lately.

So I think we need Romney to straighten out this big mess. Certainly he could not make it any worse -- you think.

Just my opinion and I am not trying to force my ideas on anyone here. Free country and you are free to vote for whoever you feel is the best choice for president.

sadly... - ctmt

[ In Reply To ..]
Mr. Obama did not say that anyone who owns a business did not do this on his own. Unfortunately, this was a strategically edited piece of videotape. I find it (at the very least) discouraging that certain news outlets would disseminate disinformation so purposefully, but also alarming that so many citizens are so willing to accept the misrepresentation.
