leftover ham recipe

Does anyone have a recipe for leftover ham, possibly a casserole. I cooked a spiral ham yesterday because it was taking up to much space in the freezer and now I am looking for ideas. TIA.

with leftover ham, but not like you find at restaurants. I cube the ham, use a big bag of the large elbow macaroni and shred 3# of sharp cheddar. You cook the macaroni per directions on the bag, add 1 stick of butter, 3 eggs, most of the cheese, ham, about half a cup of mild and 5 or 6 tablespoons of flour. Mix it all up into a gooey mess and top with remaining cheese. Bake at 350 for around an hour. My family loves it! I usually don't measure ingredients, just eyeball everything, so any more or less flour or mild will work out just fine and you can adjust cheese to your liking. Terrible for you, but absolutely yummy!

Chop up a couple of carrots, some celery and some onions, some garlic, some black pepper, throw it in the crockpot with either pieces of the ham and/or the bone and a bag of dried split peas. I used chicken broth the last time I did this instead of water. I have a good sized crockpot so I used one large box and one smaller box of the chicken broth and it turned out just about perfect. I used one bag of dried peas and about a half a bag of lentils that I had in the cupboard from making veggie burgers a little while ago. The pea and lentil combination works great if you like some texture because the lentils don't dissolve completely like the peas do. It was yummy. I think I may have put a bunch of dried parsley in there, too.

My mom used to do a dish with chopped up ham and hashbrown potatoes and I think cream of mushroom soup all mixed together and then baked like a casserole. I'm sure there's more to it, but that's the base of it.

Ham and broccoli casserole (also uses pasta).

Ham and bean soup.

Ham and string beans. Very simple. Put chunks of cut up ham in a soup pot or large saucepan with water, ham broth, OR chicken broth and potatoes(I save the broth from baking the ham). Add quartered potatoes and cook until they are tender, then add canned or frozen green or yellow string beans. Cook until the beans are hot (if using canned), or until the beans are tender (frozen).

I sprinkle vinegar on my ham and string beans after I get my portion. DH thinks I'm nuts, but it gives it a different flavor and I love vinegar on different foods.

About two cups of cubed ham, a can of yams (not sure of the size, but I think it's 20-some ounces), a small can of pineapple chunks (drain the juice but save it). Stir them all together. Melt 1/2 stick of butter and stir in brown sugar to taste (I have a sweet tooth so use about 1/2 to 3/4 cup), the juice from the pineapple, and about 1/3 cup maple syrup (again to taste). Bake covered for about 45 minutes.

This is also microwavable, which I kind of like better. It seems to get the sweet goodness (anybody know where I can get a glucometer cheap?) baked through it a little better if you stir it occasionally and this is easier for me anyway than getting it in and out of the regular oven.

4 cups sliced potato total
flour, tablespoon or two, per layer
onion, tablespoon, per layer

brocoli tops, not many, cut small

salt/pepper
butter, in dabs
layer in casserol starting with potatoes
pour scalding milk just to cover all...
cover and bake about an hour at 325, uncover to brown top and edges. will probably bubble over, should thicken with cooling.

I have a lot of mozarella, jack, and ricotta cheese and spaghetti sauce. I was thinking of shreeding all the cheeses and adding some frozen (thawed and drained) spinach in it with some crushed garlc and basil, wrap in lasagne noodles and cover with pasta sauce. When we have hot dogs there are always buns left over. Tried grilling them for toast. Didn't taste so good. Tried under the broiler and they burned. Okay, so I'm posting ahead of time, but I just saw something interesting on the show "The Chew," the food talk show with Mario Batali, Michael Symon, Daphne (Dr. Oz's daughter) and Carla. My in-laws are doing christmas eve brunch, and I am told to bring some type of hashbrown casserole. Any ideas? My grandmom and my mom used to make these cookies at Christmas that were made with baking ammonia, yup, ammonia. Sounds awful and the stuff smells horrible too. I have a really easy, quick recipe. It's sort of Sloppy Joes, but my own version. Brown chopped meat in a skillet. Add seasoned salt, onion powder, a hint of garlic powder, and black pepper and stir around. Throw in some chunks of Velveeta cheese and stir until cheese is melted all through.
