Cooked cabbage recipe

I wanted to share a recipe that a guest brought to a cookout this weekend for cooked cabbage. He cut a head of cabbage into 8 wedges and wrapped each wedge with a slice of bacon and wrapped each wedge individually in foil. He then cooked them on the grill for about 30 minutes. It turned out just like my grandma from Arkansas made in a cast iron skillet. ;

[ In Reply To ..]way home for Florida and bought some Vidalia onions. The guy there told me something similar in fixing them, cut in half, scoop out middle and put in a pat of butter, then put back together and wrap in foil and cook on grill. THe cabbage sounds yummy too.

[ In Reply To ..]We do Vidalia onions this way, too. We add a beef bouillon cube to it. Scoop out the center, put the cube in and pack the rest with butter. Wrap in foil and cook on grill until tender. Delish! I've done them in the microwave as well, just put them in a glass pie pan and cover with Saran. Cook until tender.
I will try the cabbage. Love cooked cabbage.
