Simple recipe little kids will like on Thurs?

Most of my kid guests won't eat my delicious meals with the whole usual holiday dinner menu. Anyone else change their menu for fussy little kids so they can participate instead of just saying, "Yuck!"?

I keep it simple for them. A few pieces of turkey, a piece of butter bread, some mashed potatos (some like gravy, some don't), and noodles (I know not everyone serves these). Over the years, my older ones have grown to enjoy some of other dishes of the day, including stuffing, deviled eggs, and lima beans.

I don't stress myself by trying to force them to eat everything on their plate. The only thing I ask is that they sit down for grace. Usually after grace, they eat a few bites of turkey, a spoonful of potatoes and take their butter bread and run. They check back later for dessert (pumpkin pie).

I always keep a frozen pizza on hand or some instant mac & cheese (which would be a great idea to serve as a side that day if you really want them to sit down and eat) to make later that evening. We eat pretty early, so even I get a little hungry in the evening.

Bottom line: Don't stress yourself and everyone will have a wonderful holiday. The kids will enjoy it more if they're not forced to eat a big meal.

Especially on T-giving, there is just so much to choose from there should be something that everyone will eat. Maybe a fussy eater won't eat the roasted brussels sprouts, but perhaps turkey and mashed potatoes. I don't fret about it, because even if someone is ridiculously fussy and won't eat a thing, no one will starve to death between T-giving dinner and Friday's breakfast.

My daughter does not do vegetables except for the potatoes, mac and cheese, corn and that about does it. I asked her the other day what kind of green vegetable would she eat for Thanksgiving dinner and she replied green apple? Told her that was not a vegetable. She then said green pickle? I was laughing by this time. She is so funny sometimes. I asked about doing broccoli and she said could not make it past those little hard things on the ends, told her I would cut those off but she said she would still remember them having been there. She SAID she would eat some collards. I have seen her TASTE collards only on New Years Day and that is because I put in her head that meant money for the next year, trickery you might call it. I guess I will get that blue box of mac and cheese out that she loves from her childhood. I was not much of a cook then, still not really.

My young son was a very fussy eater, but he sat at the table with everyone else, whether he ate or not. That's just what you do on Thanksgiving. You gather 'round the table with family and friends, eat, and give thanks. I never put out anything special for him. We had turkey, ham, collards, sweet potatoes, creamed potatoes, some type of green bean, deviled eggs, the usual. In the south, there's something there for everybody, I guess. He either ate what was on the table or I guess he would have starved.

Nowadays, he is a mid-20s young gentlemen and will eat anything other than anchovies. :)
