Do you feel your age or younger/older

Posted: Oct 22, 2010

I saw a post on the main board that made me think of this question.  How many people feel their age or younger/older.  I'm 50 years old.  I took one of those on-line surveys about your real age.  It told me exactly what I suspected My real age is 67.  Before I ever took it I always felt older than I really am.  Most days I feel in my late 60s.

Just curious if people feel their age or older/younger than your age.  You don't have to list your age if you don't want (of course), I'm just curious as to how you feel.

I feel years younger most of the time when I get enough rest and eat properly - RubySoho

I have a daughter who just turned 21 with whom I've always been extremely close and my husband is 15 years younger than I am. Between the two of them, they keep me feeling young and vibrant and full of vitality. I love them both to pieces. I've always taken pretty darned good care of myself physically and mentally through my entire adult life, so most people assume I'm 10-12 years younger than what my birth certificate shows.

As long as I stay on track with proper rest and eating properly (I'm not a vegetarian but love vegetables and consume large quantities on a daily basis), I feel like I'm still in my 30s.

Age is just a number. In stark contrast to myself and my sister, my mother never took care of herself, physically or mentally, and looked years older than her actual age for many years. She's 76 now but one would guess her at being at least 10 years older. She did not have a hard life but she was a very attractive woman in her younger years and I suspect she took her genes for granted and didn't put much effort into maintaining herself.

I think we have to work on maintaining whatever we've been blessed with, keep as positive an attitude as possible, and we ladies can rock our hot selves at any age, lol!

I love the replys to this question. I have been very fortunate at 64 to look at least 10 years younger than I do. My parents both looked much younger when they got older, and were always active. I think you do have to take good care of yourself, activity, rest, eating right, and having a lot of love in your life. I have 4 children and 5 grandsons and a granddaughter on the way, and I think that when I am around them it gives me a mental boost and I do feel younger. I took care of my 4th grandson after his mommy went back to work until he went to Kindergarten, and just being around him every day really gave my life a boost. I have a strong spiritual faith and I love people and doing things for them. My life is not by any means a bed of roses, and I have been through some pretty horrific stuff that truthfully made me feel some days like I was 20 years older, and should have been after some abuse. Right now my only complaint is severe arthritis, and I have had 5 spine surgeries. It all boils down to your attitude, your faith and the love you hold in your heart for yourself, your family and others.

NORMALLY I feel (and act!) younger, however it appears that age is catching up. I guess I've started menopause (I'm 56) and the fatigue and hot flashes are OVERWHELMING!

Now I've been FEELING my age! haha! I hope it passes. Doc's gonna try natural remedies first.

I think that I look great, I'm an athletic gal, 5'3, 110 pounds. Hardly any white hairs too.

I hope my biological process passes quickly because overall I feel younger!

I feel younger than I am and I also act younger on occasion. LOL. It may help that I have a 7 year old at home as well as a 16 year old. The 7 year old keeps me young. People have said I look younger too so all in all I think most of the time anyway, I feel younger.

I'm almost 61. Most of the time, I feel about 30, - could probably pass for 42. Except - sm

when I go out and play too hard on the weekends, then the ol' joints tend to want to feel like they're 70. Luckily, it just takes a couple of aspirin or Aleve, and I'm back to being 42 again!

Older Women Versus Younger Women And Trump/ClintonOct 10, 2016
Women who "like" Trump are invariably older and don't like Hilary Clinton because they were raised in an era of economic competition with each for men. In the old days, men generally took care of their women, and some women lucked out with good men and some stuck it out with bad ones. Young women can take care of themselves economically so aren't as threatened by other women so they're more apt to go for HIllary. Older women also don't like Clinton because she stuck with her ...

I am 42 and recently divorced.  I have dated some since my separation but am not currently in any relationship at all.  I met a guy over the weekend who is 30.  We talked for a while and he asked for my number.  I gave it to him...  He has been calling and asking me out.  He is very nice.  Has never been married, no children.  But he does work hard and owns his own home.  He is really polite and friendly and nice.  I have agreed to meet him ...

Dating Younger - One More Question (sm)May 23, 2010
So what would you do if you dated a younger man only to find out that you both had started to have a very strong instant bond, only he wants to have children so he began struggling with that issue? He says it is unfair to take things any further with me because we have gotten so attached...him included, but that he knows he wants to have children.  I am 42, already have two children, and have had a tubal ligation in the past. Obviously, trying to keep him with me would be unfair to him ...

Dating A Guy 10 Years Younger (from Post Below)Apr 25, 2010
Thanks to those who told me to go for it! We are getting along extremely well!   We have gone out 3 times so far (yes in about a week)! And the more I get to know him the more I like him.  I have met lots of men since my separation but he actually feels like the best match.  Every time I see him we have so much to talk about and a lot of snuggling up to do!  He keeps telling me how much he likes me and that he would like me to "stick around."  We talked about all th ...

Music From Today's Younger Generation. May 22, 2012
I am from the generation of Free Love, Hippies, Vietnam and college demonstrations against war.  As a teenager I watched JFK being assasinated and watched as LBJ took office then.  I suppose that our music reflected the changes in our society and politics too.  We had so many wonderful classic age rock groups and singers -- Rolling Stones, Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Eric Clapton, the Doors, Crazy Joe Macdonald, Fleetwood Mac, Cat Stevens, Carol King and on and on.&n ...

Getting Older QuestionNov 09, 2013
I was wondering if anyone else is going through this.  I turned 53 last spring, but I have been noticing that food I normally eat and have been eating for yers and years are either making me feel sick, giving me diarrhea and even heartburn.  I wonder if this is an age thing and that dietary needs change. So far have identified: Milk, eggs, cheese (but not greek yogurt), ice cream (but not organic) they all upset my stomache. Chocolate candy (but not chocolate chip cookies), peanuts, ...
