Anyone have tweezer brand recommendations for fine chin hair? SM

Posted: Dec 9, 2014

I have a couple that are painfuol as soon as they break through the skin, can feel them but not tweeze them out.  Postmenopusal, sigh.  :)

I use Tweezerman. These have a fine, sharp point to - grasp the hair easier. sm

If you use a mirror with magnification, in natural daylight, and maybe even sometimes a loop (blemish remover tool) that will help bring them up. Maybe alcohol or witch hazel on a cotton pad wiped on the area will help the discomfort.

I have this problem too, seems like it gets worse every darn day.

Dang Chin Hair - How Do You Deal With It If You Have It?Jan 12, 2010
You know that old saying that every time you pluck a gray hair, 2 more grow in? Well, now that I've passed 40, I have the pleasure of chin hair - something I never had before.  Good grief.  Black ones too.  Not those really fine white hairs.  And I swear - for every one I pluck, 5 more grow in.  My MIL says she shaves every day.  My SIL and I pluck.  However, I worked with a girl who used to work for a derm doc and she swears that laser tre ...

Question About Hair. I Am Older And Have Rather Fine Hair But I Do Jan 24, 2017
get it foiled with some color in it.  I have been thinking about a curly perm but I am not sure what kind to get and I would have my hairdresser do it.  I dont want a fuzz ball so I am wondering if anyone here has tried this on colored hair just streaked color.  I want a good perm that would last for a while and have curl to it but not tight.  My hairdresser does not carrying prems anymore and the company they deal with does not sell them either.  They are expensive ...

What's A Good Conditioner For Fine, Limp, Tangly Hair?Jan 17, 2010
I've always had troublesome hair - thin, fine, limp, tangles at every turn of my head.  Conditioners are a must or I could never comb it at all.  Most conditioners are too thin, runny and wimpy for my hair, and it takes me forever to comb it out (my hair is really long, down to my fanny, and straight as a board).   Every time I find a product that works in my hair, they take it off the market, it drives me nuts!  My current product is Pantene conditio ...

Name Brand *OR* Store Brand?Jun 14, 2010
I'm making out my very long list for Grocery Shopping and started thinking about various products for which I simply must have the Name Brand.  I always buy French's Mustard, Heinz Ketchup, Hellman's Mayo and Vlassic Sweet Relish. I buy Ajax Dish Soap and Bounty Paper Towels.  I'd never purchase Store Brand Dish or Dishwasher Soap.  However, I'll buy Store Brand Toilet Paper and Paper Plates. What are your "Must Haves" when it comes to Grocery ...

Recommendations For New Sewing Machine - SmJul 26, 2014
My old 24-y/o Singer died Thursday.  No idea if it is the machine or the pedal, but really don't want to buy a pedal to see.  Looking for recommendations for a new machine, any brand, what you like about it, approx. cost if you recall, features, etc.  I don't do a ton of sewing (not a lot of time)  but make things from time to time, costumes, curtains, pillows, hemming, skirts/dresses at times.  Like something easy to use but with some bells and whistles, ...

What Brand Of Shampoo/conditioner Do You Use?Jul 01, 2010
What brand of shampoo/conditioner/hair products do you use? Do you switch brands often or do you stick with just one all the time? I ran out of shampoo this morning and had to grab a bottle out of the cupboard that wasn't the same brand as the conditioner that I was going to use. Just wondering what brand of shampoo everyone else uses. I currently have Dove conditioner and Pantene shampoo in my shower. I switch brands all of the time. ...

Looking For A New Brand Of Women's Underwear.Dec 23, 2016
I used to wear Vanity Fair hi-cut cotton undies until they wanted to save money and started making an inferior product. I wore them for years and years. I like cotton undies and can't find any where the legs don't stretch out. I've been wearing Jockey, but they end up like bloomers after 3 or 4 washes. I've also tried Hanes and Just My Size and whatever other brands Walmart sells. I don't like any of them. Any suggestions? I'm looking for cotton hi-cut or b ...

Is There Any Help For My HairMay 01, 2011
I understand as we grow older our bodies change, skin gets saggy, wrinkled, loses elasticity, etc and our hair changes.  What I'm wondering is this.  Is there a product, vitamin, or whatever that can make your hair look younger and healthier.  Growing up I had beautiful hair, soft natural curls that the hairdressers said people would die to have curls that are natural like that.  Now at 51 years old my hair is coarse, and frizzy.  I can find some curls here and ther ...

Dog HairJun 14, 2011
For those of you with dogs that shed (like my Golden), can you share you grooming schedule and favorite brush? I've used to use a rake but found a tool that's cheaper than a Furminator (sp?) and doesn't rip the skin. It's made by Oster and called a Shedzilla. I've been brushing him every couple of days but this time of year, I'm wondering if I should do it more often? I like to do it outside to keep the fur out of the house as much as possible. ...

Hair Falling OutFeb 04, 2012
I am devastated right now.  I had long, thick beautiful hair and over the past couple of months I have noticed a big change in it.  Now it is falling out!  Long strands just letting loose.  At this rate, I will be bald in a couple of weeks and that is not an exaggeration.  It doesn't even look or feel like hair.  It is shriveling up and is very light and falling out!  How and why can this happen and will it stop?  Has this happened to anyone? ...

Help - Need Hair Color FixFeb 01, 2010
A few days ago I colored my hair black.  The box said (and looked like it would be a soft black), and it turned out way blacker than I imagined (if that's possible).  I usually go brown, but the reason I went black was to try to get back to as close as my natural color while the gray is coming in.  I really didn't want to color my hair, however, between the brown I last colored it, the gray coming in, and the "soft" black that was mixed in with the gray I had too many co ...

I Have A Hair Question Too, For Those Of You With - SmMay 01, 2011
alopecia areata, have you tried any home remeadies that have worked?  I have gone to the dermatoloigst, have received 3 sets of cortisone shots to the scalp so far, no luck, just a few fine hairs coming in.  It should have all grown back at this point from the injections.  So now we are waiting a year to see if anything changes (been about 2 years already so looks pretty permanent right now).  Doc gave me samples of Protopic but basically said she did not expect it to work bu ...

Do You Wash Your Hair Every Day?Jul 02, 2010
I know they say to only wash your hair every other day but I have never been able to do that. I shampoo/condition my hair every day as I cannot stand the feeling of my hair being dirty or greasy-looking or whatever. Pink HairAug 03, 2010
Can anyone recommend a product that will cover gray/white roots without turning my hair a pink color?  Some years ago I was using over the counter color and was actually approached by people, telling me my hair was "purple."  I told my stylist and she said the over  the counter products have a violet base, and when applied to brown hair it gives a pretty highlight.  If you apply it to hair that has lost its color it soaks up the violet color and that's what you see.  ...

Wen Hair Care?Apr 15, 2012
Battling insomnia last night, I watched an infomercial for this product and the thought behind it makes sense to keep one's hair at its healthiest (especially if platinum blond, like I currently am). Hair Dye What To Buy Tired Of ColorsilkDec 03, 2009
I have long hair that usually takes about 3 boxes of dye.  I usually only do it about 2-3 times a year and do the all over color each time because my color tends to fade.  I think hair dye might be one of those things that you get what you pay for.  I usually buy the Colorsilk ($2-$3 at Walmart) because it is cheaper and I am usually broke.  This year I think I will splurge a little and buy a more expensive brand.  In the past I have tried the Herbal ess. and Natrual Ins ...

I Am About To Frost My Hair. Any Tips?Nov 09, 2010
I actually have Loreal in a box but also went out a year ago and bought the individual products.  I finally have the nerve to do it as my hair is dull mouse brown and long - and now looking lifeless and bland.  I am 50 and want to enjoy long hair for a bit longer before I chop it off for convenience sake.   Should I make small streaks or bold. No More Brittle Hair Or Dry Skin.Sep 20, 2010
If any of you have problems with brittle hair and dry skin, try a shower filter.  The water in your shower is filled with chemicals, minerals, and the same or more amount of chlorine as swimming pool water.  I just purchased an Aquasana shower filter.  In less than 1 week, I have noticed a tremendous difference in the softness of my hair and skin.  It is like showering in pure spring water.  There is no way I would ever go back to using plain shower water again!  ...
