I have long hair that usually takes about 3 boxes of dye. I usually only do it about 2-3 times a year and do the all over color each time because my color tends to fade. I think hair dye might be one of those things that you get what you pay for. I usually buy the Colorsilk ($2-$3 at Walmart) because it is cheaper and I am usually broke.
