Anyone have a good veggie dish recipe for Thanksgiving to share

Posted: Nov 13, 2009

There is just two of us.  I usually make his grandmother's recipe (cheesy green bean/corn dish), but want to make something different.  He doesn't like that green bean casserole with the onion topping that is usually the norm at T.G.  Just would like some different ideas of things you usually have and like.

I personally like squash casseorle. My grandma made the best one though. There is a website called Allrecipes.com and they have all kinds of recipes and ratings of what other people thought of them. I like to use it so I dont make something horrible.

Hope this helps!

Anyone Have Any Good Veggie Recipes To ShareJul 15, 2010
The next time we go shopping have decided to go all veggie for a couple weeks, hopefully longer.  We are overweight, feeling run down, and have been having stomach problems.  We knows its what we eat because after we eat we feel it the most.  So goodbye to the meat, dairy, cheese, breads, rice, sugar, chocolate, and hello to the veggies.  Now...I make excellent salads - nothing fancy (romaine, tomato, cuke, carrots, brocoli slaw, garbanzos, and a sprinkle of sunflower seeds), ...

minimize holiday carb overload.  I was diagnosed with early type 2 at the end of July and so far have lost 35 pounds from my top weight which puts me at about the halfway mark toward end goal.  I count and record nutritional info (calories, fat, carbs, fiber, salt, cholesterol, sodium, sugars and protein) for every single bite I take and have adopted the snack-and-graze approach to balanced meal planning.  So far, this has helped stabilize the blood glucose and allowed t ...

A Good Fall/winter Recipie For Veggie Soup But It Does Take Some TimeNov 01, 2014

Thanksgiving Was Pretty Good Here. I Just Have One Gripe.Nov 25, 2010
Do NOT bake an apple pie in a convention oven.  LOL  The top crust never browned even though I baked it for 50 minutes. I wound up putting it under the broiler for 3-4 minutes, watching carefully that it didn't burn. Other than that, it was pretty good and I'm proud as it was the first time in 20 years I baked any pie since my oven burns everything on the bottom (that's why I never baked in all those years). Otherwise, things went quite well for us. Everything was ...

Need Good Grits RecipeDec 04, 2014
Hi All- I had a really good shrimp and grits dinner a while back while on vacation. I've tried the Internet, but OMG, there are soooo many, I don't know where to begin. The recipe I had was with cheddar cheese, and the grits were ohhh, sooo, creamy. Someone gave me some grits (the real McCoy, not quick, not instant), and I'd love to use them. Anyone have any good grits recipes? I don't mean grits as a side for breakfast, I'm talking about as a meal for dinner ...

Since watching so many episodes of Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares we will probably never eat at another restaurant again LOL Hence, I am looking for recipes that will give us a variety of the food we love to eat. Right now I'm looking for a good chicken enchilada recipe. It's our favorite Mexican dish, actually DHs favorite is chile relleno, but that is way past my cooking skills. That way I can enjoy the taste without the guilt of pie crust.   Thanks!  By the way. . . A few weeks back someone posted a recipe for pumpkin cookies;  using the can of pumpkin and a spice cake mix.  I made those and took them to the campground for my friend's Halloween party.   They were a big hit, and so many people asked for the recipe.  Thanks so much!  So many compliments for something so easy!   I used the cream cheese frost ...

Anyone Have A Good Lemon Bread/cake RecipeDec 24, 2009
Okay, just made a lemon bread.  It is moist but not as lemony as I would like.  Safeway makes a good lemony cake (or bread) thing.  So moist and lemony and I'd like to make something similar.  This recipe I just made called for 3/4 c. lemon yogurt and 1 tablepoon lemon rind.  It is moist but not a real lemon flavor (faint lemon flavor).   I tried another recipe using a lemon cake and added a box of lemon pudding.  Again, most but not real lemony.   ...
