Do NOT bake an apple pie in a convention oven. LOL The top crust never browned even though I baked it for 50 minutes. I wound up putting it under the broiler for 3-4 minutes, watching carefully that it didn't burn. Other than that, it was pretty good and I'm proud as it was the first time in 20 years I baked any pie since my oven burns everything on the bottom (that's why I never baked in all those years).
Otherwise, things went quite well for us. Everything was done on time. Nothing underdone, nothing overdone, and I had plenty of time on my hands. Turkey was perfect, nice and juicy and only half a breast, the legs, thighs, and wings left. I only made potato filling, corn, gravy and rolls with it since DH doesn't like a fuss and even yelled at me for wanting to go to 'all that trouble'. His tune changed when I served everything. He had 3 helpings of turkey (and he doesn't like turkey that much).
Tomorrow for lunch I'm going to make turkey wraps with the last of the breast meat. I'll probably make a casserole with the dark meat.
Hope everyone had as great a day as I did. I'm so happy that everything turned out so great.
Happy Thanksgiving!
