Thanks for posting the corn and broccoli casserole--it is delicious! I added a little bit of mild cheddar cheese. The next time I make it, I am going to add more of the Chicken in a Biscuit crackers. This will go great with Turkey. Thanks again and have a great holiday!

How Well Does Cold Water Clean Dishes?Jan 13, 2010
John went to visit his 90-year-old grandfather in a very secluded, rural area of Saskatchewan   After spending a great evening chatting the night away, the next morning John's grandfather prepared breakfast of bacon, eggs and toast.  However, John noticed a film like substance on his plate, and questioned his grandfather asking, 'Are these plates clean?'  His grandfather replied, 'They're as clean as cold water can get em. Just you go ahead and fin ...

Anyone Have Any Good Veggie Recipes Dec 15, 2010
I am looking for some ideas for vegetables as the main course.  I'm getting away from meat.  Only eat chicken every once in awhile, but I want to just cut out all meat.  I know the basics of salads and steamed vegetables, but looking for something different.  Anyone have any recipes they would like to share. ...

Anyone Have Any Good Veggie Recipes To ShareJul 15, 2010
The next time we go shopping have decided to go all veggie for a couple weeks, hopefully longer.  We are overweight, feeling run down, and have been having stomach problems.  We knows its what we eat because after we eat we feel it the most.  So goodbye to the meat, dairy, cheese, breads, rice, sugar, chocolate, and hello to the veggies.  Now...I make excellent salads - nothing fancy (romaine, tomato, cuke, carrots, brocoli slaw, garbanzos, and a sprinkle of sunflower seeds), ...

Anyone Have A Good Veggie Dish Recipe For Thanksgiving To ShareNov 13, 2009
There is just two of us.  I usually make his grandmother's recipe (cheesy green bean/corn dish), but want to make something different.  He doesn't like that green bean casserole with the onion topping that is usually the norm at T.G.  Just would like some different ideas of things you usually have and like. ...

Anybody Glad The Holidays Are Over?!?!?Jan 03, 2010
I definitely am!  I always stress myself out every single year at Christmas.  I know I do it,  I tell myself I'm not going to do it, and then I do it every time!  So whenever New Year's rolls around I'm saying Thank God!  Things can go back to normal!  I feel bad being a Christian and all, dreading Christmas so much.  I just don't know how to not be stressed.  I'm on anti-anxiety medication and anti-depressants, but still manage to ...

Celebrating The HolidaysNov 24, 2012
Just wondered what other's take is on the Christmas and Thanksgiving? I have always enjoyed and looked forward to these holidays coming around every year - The festive activities, cooking, having good food that normally wouldn't otherwise eat year around like sweet potatoe pie, pound cake and other family favorites. Normally I could hardly wait till Thanksgiving was over to put up the Christmas tree and decorate the house. Even with the kids being all up in age and one having a chi ...

Working On HolidaysJul 04, 2013
As long as I've been doing this, I should be used to it, but anyone else get upset about working on holidays?  I guess it's because it's summer and I'd much rather be outside floating in a pool, but just working today while knowing it's a holiday is getting to me. Anyone else?  How do you cope?  Not working is not an option, so I'm trying to make the best of it.   ...

The Happy Holidays Vs. Merry Christmas DealDec 06, 2011
Ok, I'm a Christian. I'm not saying I'm perfect, quite the opposite. That being said, I am ok with "Happy Holidays" at this time of year. Why? Because we're in the season where there are several holidays!!!! I'm not offended if someone says that to me, matter of fact, I'm pleased because they said something nice. I was reading on Facebook the other day a "Don't take Christ out of Christmas" post from a Christian friend of mine and it sounded so dark a ...

My Mother And My Sister Are Fighting AGAIN! They Do This Every Year During The Holidays!Dec 23, 2010
I try to be the peacemaker and remain neutral, but this year my sister has taken to posting on facebook!  Is that not the most juvenile thing you have every heard??!!?!  Of course, she is slanting the facts to make her look like the victim.  My mom will never see it because she never uses a computer, doesn't even have email.  However, I'm a little aggravated because there are all these people on my sister's friends list commenting on it basically telling my sis ...

Boehner's Support For His Plan B Collapses, So Closes House For Holidays And Leaves,Dec 21, 2012
After the tea partiers who said they were behind him on his Plan B in the morning backed out later in the day, Speaker Boehner closed the House for the holidays. This all happened so fast they were literally wheeling in carts of food for a late night of lawmaking work when the House abruptly adjourned and they all walked out without voting on their own measure. He must be bitterly disappointed. As someone said, "Every time this guy takes a foot forward, he gets slammed in the back of the head ...

Brigham Young's Great-great-granddaughter, Now 71, On Oct 23, 2012
"A direct descendant of Brigham Young, Sue Emmett left the church (at 55) because of the very values she says would make Romney a frightening president. She speaks exclusively with Jamie Reno. Sue Emmett is Mormon royalty. Her great-great-grandfather was Brigham Young, the founder of Salt Lake City, first governor of Utah, and president and prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) from 1847 until his death in 1877." Oh, GreatDec 13, 2013
Our favorite hot sauce may now become either no longer available, or will be made in another country, because some people in the state it's made are "sensitive" to the smell. Okay, there goes another American job/factory and more people laid off because of someone's "sensitivity." If it is made out of the country, the price will go waaay up, not to mention, if it's made in China, goodness knows what they'll put in it. It's Sriracha---we love it. We grow our own hab ...

Saw Shrek 4 In 3-D It Was GreatJun 07, 2010
Summer is coming and we live in Florida where it is hot and rainy.  My son was bored and I was too... so we found a movie theater locally which did not cost an arm and a leg.  I took him to see Shrek 3-D and it was GREAT! Highly recommended.  I can see how some people might get a little nauseous with the 3-D because sometimes it is hard to take especially with buttered popcorn in the stomach! But it really was great in 3-D.  It really reminded me of the old "Disney."  As ...

Great Start To The DayApr 17, 2012
So, I run into this guy this morning who I haven't seen in about nine years. We're talking and then he says - You're bigger than the last time I saw you. Then, he goes on to say - You know how when people get older, they fill out. Okay, so now I'm not only bigger, but old too. That's just great. Just needed to vent. ...

Great Book!Sep 13, 2012

Today Is Going To Be A Great DayOct 08, 2012
I'm just about over being sick.  I don't have to work today.  The whole day stretches before me in pure luxurious possibility.  Yes, I have to do more "job hunting," no the job hunt really isn't going that well.  But today, I'm gonna set that aside. I'm reading Longfellow (poet), I really like it, it's easy to read - poetry that's easy to read, what a concept!  I'm also working on a poem and my novel. It's like 24 hours' ...

Today's Another Great DayOct 11, 2012
Got the car fixed - several things wrong with it - so hopefully fingers crossed it will make it through the winter.  The whole winter.  And there's another car here, so if worse came to worst, I could take that. Moral of the story - a big stress is when "worse comes to worst" is on the horizon, and you have to live with that possibility day in and day out.  So one aspect of that is gone. Bought a nice velveteen-ish jacket at Salvation Army - eight dollars - it is pitiful wh ...

A Great RecipeJan 01, 2013
A woman I met some weeks ago gave me a recipe for crustless pumpkin pie.  I went on line and found one which varied somewhat from hers.  (She uses egg beaters and Splenda in her recipe because her husband is diabetic, etc.)   The recipe I used was perfect!   If anyone would like to try it (maybe for next season) I will gladly share it.  It is great not having to worry about making a perfect crust, which is not my strong point.   I never heard of a cru ...

Great New Blog. Mar 16, 2013
It's been posted once before, so hopefully I'm not overreaching my bounds by doing it again so that any of Fanatical Hypocrite's fans who may have missed it can make their way there.  There are actual posts up now, so I think it's worth mentioning again. And comments are enabled too.   ...

These Two Ladies Are GreatJul 29, 2016
Some good common sense and an irate reaction to Trump here, so probably this might be only for those of us who do not like Donald Trump - definitely a liberal cast to this blog, but what the heck I have to skim through those diatribes from the Heritage Foundation and that awful Judge Jeanine, so about time to spread a bit of progressive wealth of knowledge. I have not put the entire post - bear in mind the beginning is very good and will make you laugh out loud, so please read if you are so inc ...
