Total Knee ReplacementJan 10, 2013
I had a total knee replacement thinking I would be better by now and I think I made matters worse.  I never sleep through the night.  I take 2 percocets before going to bed and it relieves my pain, but I am more than 3 weeks out from surgery.  It was supposed to be much better at this point.  I have plenty of work, but I cannot seem to focus on my work in the daytime.  Any suggestions? ...

Have limited PTO - hoping to spend the required 3-4 days in hospital and then after a week at home with PT/resting, begin to work again.  I have a 12 hour window to get my 8 hours done in.  This should help.  Anyone have this done and came back to MT quickly?  TIA ...

Knee PainJun 20, 2013
Have been told by orthopod that I have bone-on-bone in my right knee.  He suggested surgery and gave me Tramadol for the pain.  Surgery is not an option financially at this time.  I have been losing weight in order to take some of  the pressure off.  I cannot take the Tramadol and work because it makes me sleepy.    Cannot take NSAIDs because of the GI side effects. Any suggestions on how to deal? TIA ...

Understanding FREOPP's Obamacare Replacement In 10 Minutes Of Less.Jan 06, 2017
Things that Obamacare does that Transcending Obamacare doesn’t 1.Induce rate shock. The ACA introduces an entirely new layer of federal regulations into the individual health insurance market: tens of thousands of pages of onerous requirements that drive up the cost of health coverage. Transcending Obamacare is carefully designed to cover the uninsured without drastic premium hikes. 2.Force people to buy health insurance. Infamously, the ACA contains an individual mandate, imposing finan ...

Knee InjectionsOct 21, 2009
Have you ever had Synvisc, Euflexxa, Hyalgan, or Supartz injections?  Did they help?  I've Googled it and have read yays and nays.  My doctor suggested I try a series of Euflexxa.  I've had many cortisone shots, but my doctor said cortisone actually makes the cartilage weaker (and I have thinning cartilage), so he doesn't want to do anymore of those, which I hate because they are like a miracle cure! (at least for a few weeks to a couple of months).  Thank ...

Knee ProblemsDec 11, 2012
First let me start by saying that I have had two arthroscopies on my right knee and one on my left for basically worn out cartilage and some "fraying" around the edges of the knee cartilage, but never an outright tear (according to MRI studies all three times).  My knee problems have always started out first with pain, achy-type feeling, stiffness, and a tight band-like feeling around my knee, sometimes hurting on the outer back of my knee (I know I have a Baker's cyst in both knees, b ...

Knee ArthroscopyFeb 12, 2013
I had a knee arthroscopy February 1. I've had arthroscopic surgery before, but these incisions look different this time. There are two incisions about mid-knee, right and left sides of knee, that look like typical sutures tied with a knot, but below these two are smaller incisions with what appears to be a strand of suture running lengthwise across the incisions. Has anyone ever seen or heard about an arthroscopic surgery with sutures like this? I'm a big chicken with a very low pain ...

Please Pray For My KneeNov 30, 2016
Two years ago, I tore my medial meniscus and was thankfully able to heal in a few months by using crutches and participating in physical therapy.  On Thanksgiving, I hurt my knee again.  There was no precipitating factor other than just walking inside the house.  What is concerning is that I am now having pain even when not putting any pressure on my leg.  Please pray that this heals.  My insurance does not pay for specialists (like an orthopedist) or any imaging studies ...

Knee Swollen, Tight, PainfulOct 18, 2009
Have been having trouble with my knee since about spring of this year.  I had a knee scope ten years ago for some torn cartilage, and the knee did great for the ten years following, but flared up this past spring.  It gets a very tight and full feeling with a big bulge in the back of the knee, and I keep telling the doctor I believe it is a Baker's cyst, but he doesn't suggest anything for it.  He did tell me that is where the fluid goes because it has no place else to g ...

Meniscal Tear/knee BraceMay 18, 2011
Has anyone tried working with a knee brace on?  I am not having much success and cannot afford not to work.  I went to the ER last night and was told I need an MRI and probable surgery, but I don't have insurance.  The ortho doc wants $150 for first appointment.  Very frustrated!! ...

Injured Knee And No Money For DoctorOct 27, 2014
I got out of bed Saturday, and when I stepped down, there was sharp pain to my medial knee.  I cannot walk on it.  Thankfully, there is next to no pain when there is no pressure on it and it is not fully flexed or fully extended.  Medial meniscal tear and/or MCL tear?  I have leftover NSAIDs from a neck problem years ago and some old tramadol, which are helping.  On his way to borrow a walker from a friend, my husband passed a yard sale and noticed a pair of crutches. &n ...

Sports/overuse Knee Injuries?Oct 28, 2014
Hi, I've recently had a knee injury - something I've never had before, so I'm unfamiliar with what to expect.  Have any of you ever had a knee injury such as a sprain or ligament tear, and if so, what were your symptoms and how long did it take to heal?  Did it ever feel normal again? I'm in my 60's, and am still an avid rollerblader.  My knee problems started about 2 months ago, when I was getting a little tired near the end of a 12-mile group skate I w ...

and Mexico in 2013. (CNSNews.com) - According to refugee data from the U.S. Department of State, the federal government did not grant refugee protection to a single person from Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador or Mexico in fiscal year 2013. Now, almost all of the unaccompanied children illegally crossing into the U.S. from Mexico are coming from those nations, and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and other congressional Democrats have described these illegal aliens as “refugees.” ...

PainJan 25, 2010
Hey, m'lovely MT sisters, I suspect I have bursitis in my right shoulder.  It started as pain in my right arm biceps area and I had an odd rash in the area, so to be honest I was afraid it might have been shingles (never had them, but heard they're very painful). Ladies, it's been about 6 weeks and it's still freakling painful, but I believe I was wrong on precisely where the pain was originating.  I believe it's emanating at my right shoulder joint.  I&# ...

Old MT/QA With PainMay 13, 2010
I have been an MT/QA for 24 years.  I have fibromyalgia, arthritis, have had bilateral carpal tunnel release, and I have cervical impingement.  I tried a new product called Evolv enhanced water beverage which has a formula called Archaea Active.  It claims to "promote a healthy inflammatory response."  Honestly, I was skeptical about it, but I am here to testify that this is truly a Godsend!!  It was explained to me that it increases oxygen at the cellular level and ...

Leg PainDec 05, 2013
For the last couple weeks, whenever I go to bed, if I am on my back or side, I awaken several times with pain in my right calf and knee, if I turn on my stomach it goes away.  The first couple hours I am up in the morning it is painful, cannot put my right leg over my left, cannot cross my leg to put on my shoes because it immediately causes a sharp pain to shoot through my leg.  Cannot bend over because of the same.  After moving around about two hours it is okay pretty much the ...

Hip Pain..againJan 02, 2014
You guys probably don't remember but I'm the person who posted about hip/butt pain a few months back.  Doc said it was bursitis, took no xrays or anything just said that was what it was.  Well fast forward to today.  i have been jogging lately...went jogging and got home and the pain in my hip was terrible.  sitting is ok but moving hurts.  I sneezed just now and my hip hurt.  Any idea what it could be? This is different from the butt/back side of my hip p ...
