CNN is reporting that the second nurse was given permission by the CDC to fly on that plane to Cleveland and back even though she had a temperature of 99.5°F.

or that she had treated Thomas Duncan when she called the CDC, just what she described as a "low-grade fever" of 99.5 degrees, which was below guideline thresholds. She later told CBC News she was "feeling ill" the day she boarded the plane, info she did not relay to the CDC. A registered nurse who knew she had direct exposure to ebola, was not feeling well and was having a "low grade fever," should have cancelled her trip and should not have withheld information in her call to the CDC.

I had not heard that further information. At any rate, however, I want both young ladies to get well and pray it stops with them.

who claim Texas Presbyterian mishandled the Thomas Duncan case and put those health workers at risk. They are contradicting a lot of public statements made by the hospital about treatment delays, protective gear and hazardous waste disposal. The fact that they are maintaining anonymity is telling. I just think Amber Vinson's excitement over her wedding plans may have clouded her judgment. I know when I'm in the first phases of coming down with regular flu, my mind vacates the premises, and takes a hike to the "flu planet" for the duration. The last thing those girls need is criticism for breaching protocols. Hopefully Ms. Vinson will benefit from the transfer to Atlanta and Ms. Pham will gain all the strength she needs from the blood transfusion she got from Dr. Brantly.

My mom, a sister, and several friends are nurses, and they are professionals through and through, worked hard to get where they did, work long hours, and are committed to the care of their patients. I can't believe someone would say such a thing.

I had a total knee replacement thinking I would be better by now and I think I made matters worse. I never sleep through the night. I take 2 percocets before going to bed and it relieves my pain, but I am more than 3 weeks out from surgery. It was supposed to be much better at this point.
