if he doesn't get funding for his wall. Are any of his supporters here getting SS? Do they realize they won't get a check if he succeeds in shutting down the government? Is that the policy you voted for?

I didn't like when the GOP shut down the government under Obama and won't like it if Trump does it too. I don't like how they use us as political pawns no matter who they are.

People that have vacations scheduled during that time to the national parks are out of luck, which not only hurts them but the businesses in the area. Many government employees are sent home from work, it can delay air travel, nonessential military personnel can be affected. It hurts the economy overall.

These have happened before and we have gotten through them, but that doesn't mean they are right. We are the ones who are used as pawns. I say if your going to shut the government down, then take the lawmakers salaries away until it is fixed instead of making all of us pay while they play games.

during the last government shutdown? Yes, I got my SS check but national parks were closed. People who had reservations lost their money. Businesses around the parks lost money. And it is entirely possible in a future government shutdown that government checks will stop as well.

Maybe a government employee who got sent home or a visitor to a national park who lost their money due to it would not consider talking about a government shutdown "stirring the pot." I bet many of them were "righties."

Since Angelfood Ministries got shut down I don't know what to do. I support myself, my family, my elderly mom and it was a blessing having Angelfood boxes to count on.
