I felt it here in Blue Ridge at the lake. Only a few seconds long, but my easy chair was rocking. Creaks and groans from the house, but not any damage that I know of.

I'm from California and can take any number of tremors, but a lot of the architecture around here wasn't built for them. And, of course, I immediately worried about the NE taking another hit.

N.M.- We just felt it at our house near Blue Ridge, Ga. a few minutes ago (it is 12:29 p.m.). Also felt the same thing the day before yesterday. It is a tremor that vibrates up from the ground and it rattles the dishes in the cabinets. Each time we've felt it, we look out the window expecting to see a huge truck on our dirt road, but there is nothing there. Like you, we are wondering if anyone knows the source of these tremors. What is your general location in N. Ga.?

California so, small as it was, I didn't think it was a stray wind gust or something, but I'm glad to have you verify it. So, it was from southern Kentucky.

4.3 might be pretty noticeable to someone who isn't used to it, though. In California that could have vibrated something off a shelf if I didn't have everything stuck in place with earthquake putty.

I've only felt three earthquakes in the 40 years I have lived in Upstate New York. I guess this was based in Ontario and we felt it all the way down here! I hope they didn't sustain too much damage. My husband and I have been living in Arizona for the last 7 years and think it's time for a change. We were thinking about Georgia-drove through it once on way to Florida many years ago and remember it as a pretty state. I wonder if anyone is from the Walton county area.
