I heard on the TV this morning

that union members in WI are passing around a flyer with names of businesses who supposedly contributed to Walker and calling for a boycott of those businesses. My problem with this is that employers are the ones who hire employees who pay taxes who fund unions. Isn't that kinda like shooting themselves in the foot? Plus, do teachers not realize that some of the businesses they want to boycott may employ a parent of one of their students...but they are doing all this for their students, right? What a load of crap!

Just because a business owner shares a different point of view than your own does not mean it is unethical. Our government is unethical. If we ran our daily lives like the government, we would be in jail and totally broke.

As to my initial post, you have totally missed my point...or just plain out ignored it just to make a smart butt comment about what TP you choose to wipe your butt with. BTW, go with Charmin...it is soft and I like it. ;)

Taxpayer dollars fund states. States pay union benefits. Employees pay taxes to the state. Do the math...sheesh! These union workers want to hurt the very people who pay in taxes to the state that pays for union benefits. Duh...you get it now or do I need to draw a picture?

The union members are TAXPAYERS also. Union benefits comprise a very small percentage of what a state pays out. Take a look at corporate tax loopholes to see who is hurting whom.

Union members also have the better bennies and salaries. Union BENEFITS may be a small part of what a state pays out, but SALARIES are a rather large part doncha think? And initially, all the governor in Wisconsin asked is that they up their contribution to the health fund from 5% to 12%. In a broke state and to avoid raising taxes on all taxpayers....and they said no.

Those corporations with the tax loopholes...aren't some of THEIR workers unionized? They are probably the largest employers in the state? Oh but that doesn't matter.....rightttt.

In fact, if I lived in WI, I would get one of those flyers and BUY the products that they want to boycott.

Do you really think the union employees are going to give up Angel Soft or any other product if they use it all the time?

These union people are unreal. First they hurt the children by not teaching and closing the schools because they'd rather protest, then they get fake doctor slips which really teaches honesty to their students, now they want to hurt the parents who work for a company they may boycott.

BTW, collective bargaining is NOT being taken away. The unions will still have the right to negotiate wages and benefits BUT if it's over the CPI, it would take the TAXPAYERS to allow the raising costs to be approved. I don't know why no one seems to understand this.

I agree with the OP that it seems it might just turn around and bite them in the rear. Why boycott a business that is in your own town - the same business that your family and neighbors count on for a job in order to make money. Yeah, I said it! M-o-n-e-y. It's the 5-letter evil word. If your neighbors get laid off because of a boycott, where's the good that comes out of that? The progressives don't understand (or maybe they do) that corporations are made up of people - workers and shareholders. Corporations are not in the business of making sure your life is all comfy and cozy. They are in the business to sell goods or services and, in return, they make money. Period. Why is making money such an evil thing to do now? When did that happen?

I want my company to succeed and make money. If my company didn't make any money, neither would I, and I'd be looking for a job.

When did making money become evil? I'm sure you really know the answer to this but here's mine.....When a certain someone took over the reins of this country. When a certain someone was campaigning. That's when. Redistribution is a good thing when you have never known what it is like to work hard.

My father passed away this morning. He was in the nursing home and had been in the hosptial a week or so ago with respiratory distress. Got better and went back to the nursing home.
