From the CNN.com article:
RL: "The media didn't make me, and they can't break me," he said in a portion of an NBC interview that aired Monday.
*Me*: Partially correct - hate and ignorance and myopia made you 'popular' - and you thanked that segment of society by spewing more of the same to 'keep' your high-paying job. But the media most definitely played a role in your 'success' because you get a PAYCHECK from the 'media'! There is another term for people who sell themselves for money, anyone guess what it is?
If I were you though, Rush, I would take a walk down memory lane and see what happened go Gary Hart when he through down the gauntlet to the media.
In interview excerpts released by the network, Limbaugh said he had been moved by the election of the nation's first black president — "but I got over it pretty quickly."
Obama's election has heightened racial discord, he said.
RL: "I predicted to you it was going to exacerbate racial problems, and it has," said Limbaugh. "There's a race industry in the country. They make money off it. They have fame and fortune off of it. And I predicted exactly what's happened.
*Me*: What a bald-faced liar. YOU make money off it - AND your kind are working very hard and deviously to exacerbate racial problems.
And read this devious part again "I predicted to you 'it' (the election of a black man) was going to exacerbate racial problems, and it has."
He continues: "Any criticism of President Obama is going to be said to be oriented in racism. And if you don't like his health care bill, it's racist. If you don't like his cap and trade, it's racist."
Un -you know what-believable: Total opinion. And straight from the Publican propaganda playbook: Rachet up the race issue any chance, any way, you can. In this instance its priming his audience for a FALSE foregone conclusion: That the opposition will cry 'racism' if their candidate is criticized for anything.
Limbaugh also said grateful for the prescription drug addiction that forced him into treatment six years ago.
RL: "I actually thank God for my addiction," he said. "I learned more about myself in rehab than I would have ever learned otherwise."
*Me*: This is too easy. Did you learn you take a lot of money to entertain and/or babysit an audience who sucks down your unsubstantiated OPINIONS as fast as you can spew them? (note Limbaugh does not give references to his commentary - because he knows his material doesn't HAVE to be verifiable for *his* audience.
For the record, I don't care if he is 'successful' at ignorance-spewing for the rest of his life. There are so many like him - and others waiting to take his place...as long as the media can make money off of talking heads they will litter the airways.
Thank God for the off button - I wish more people would use it.
