When I was a child, mom had this iron-thing that you would dip into a sweet pancake type batter and put it in hot grease. Once done, off would come the crispy thing in different shapes-butterflies, etc. Then she would dip them in confectioner's sugar. Does anyone know what this is called and can you still buy them? I know, I was so technical in my description LOL.
;Your question has resulted in my reminiscing about the funnel cakes I would get at the fair each year when I was growing up. The fair and a local theme park are the only places I've ever had them. It's probably been 28 years since I had one. I remember wondering how anything could ever be more delicious than those funnel cakes. By the time I would finish it, I was bloated and miserable and just wanted to go lie down under a shade tree, swearing to myself I never wanted to see a funnel cake ever again. This routine was repeated over and over for years. I am seriously craving one now ...... there are just no words. Just so you know, I'm probably going to find myself at Walmart today purchasing a funnel cake maker gizmo. By tonight, I'll be llying on the den floor, miserable from "funnel cake bloat." Now see what you've set into motion?
