Ok, this is weird. Never had this feeling before, but I am getting up in years, so maybe it is just old age taking it toll.
I am sitting in my living room, lights off, 3 fans going. We are in the middle of a heat-wave. Over 90 degrees outside, heat index over 100, humidity unbelievable. I live in an old house with old wiring. We tried window air conditioners, but could only use 1 at a time and only for a certain number of hours before it started blowing fuses, so gave up on that. Only relief I have is fans.
So, as I am sitting here reading the Board, my skin starts to burn. My arms especially, but also any exposed skin on my legs and a little on my face. It burns like the sensation you get when you realize you have been out in the sun too long and your skin is starting to get a sunburn even though you cannot see it yet.
I know about dehydration, so I have been drinking water practically nonstop, and, as a result, running to the bathroom several times a day.
At first I thought maybe my skin was getting dry because of all the fans, but all the windows have to be open and I can feel the humidity, so the house cannot be too dry.
This is really starting to bug me. I am about to go sit in a cold bath.
I would, however, like to know why my skin is feeling so hot and dry.
Any ideas?

Yes. Since childhood, never been able to tan - just burn. So I NEVER sit in the sun. Most exposure I get is on my arms when I am in the car (driver or passenger - have to rotate LOL). I can actually get a sunburn from a one hour drive on a very sunny day if I forget sunscreen because I only planned on being in the car for a short time.
Do you have an idea of what it is called so I can look it up?
Thank you.
Thanks for your story. Sounds like your friend survived without any untoward consequences, so I hope I am okay in assuming it was just temporary and not worth seeking medical attention.
I will just keep taking cool baths and showers until the heat-wave breaks and, hopefully, it will go away on its own.
Thanks again.
Good night all.
Thank you. I will definitely look into that, now that I have a term I can actually look up. Before when I entered my symptoms, it was so vague, I really could not find anything specific and got tired of looking.
Thanks again for your reply.
