Anyone else like to watch Anthony Bourdain - No Reservations?

I absolutely love this show and love watching this man travel the world and eating the various cuisines, both the tasty appearing and disgusting appearing, LOL. Last night's episode was really interesting because he visited Haiti and it was eye opening and wonderful to see these people in a different light than what the news media presents them. They showed the art work of the children there and it was amazing, even in all of the devestation the children (and adults) can still find something so beautiful.

If you have not watched this show, try it, it is on the Travel Channel on Monday nights, I believe at 9 p.m. EST. He is also an author with several books out, none of which I have read yet but I plan to. He is a colorful character and I can imagine that his books will be interesting.

His shows are so interesting, as is he. He cracks me up, perfect blend of humor and cynicism. His book Kitchen Confidential was a best-seller, apparently about cut-throat world of professional chefs. Haven't read it but plan to. Didn't catch the show on Haiti either but will watch for it. Thanks for the post, am glad to hear about someone else who watchess. When I ask my friends, they say, "Anthony who?"

I really like him because he is so straight forward about things. I have been told that his books are great, especially his most recent, I believe it is called The Nasty Bits or something like that. My grown daughters swear I have a "crush" on him, LOL. You really need to see the episode from Haiti, it was fantastic! I also watched the episode from Panama last night and laughed until my sides ached because he was allowed to watch the government burn TONS of raw cocaine, needless to say he was extremely comical about it, even stating at one point jokingly (I think, lol) that he had not cooked this much cocaine since the early 70s.

It is his raw humor, boldness and the people of the countries that he visits that make this show so entertaining! So glad that I found another fan!

Saw the Hati show last night with Sean Penn living in a tent. It was an eye opening show. I must look into his books!

And very envious as well. He has a good life traveling, drinking, and eating!!!!! Saw the show on Haiti and after that there was a show about him visiting Maine, which is where I live. His camera man is from Maine, but I did not like that show, as I feel it did not highlight the state of Maine well.

I actually met him years ago in San Francisco at a bayside cafe. He was very friendly, very, very smart and well-spoken. He sat with my friend and I for about an hour or so, having coffee and pastries, then gave us a heads up on places to see while in SF. He smokes a lot though... a lot.
But, he's just a regular guy! Not at all pretentious or "celebrified". It was a real nice celebrity encounter and quite fun!

love his personality, he is raw but real. I have watched some interviews with him over the last several days and he does not consider himself a celebrity at all. He stated in one interview that while he no longer cooks professionally, he does still answer to "Chef," and that is only because he feels that he earned that respect.

Sadly you can look at his teeth and tell that he is a heavy smoker, I wish that he would have his teeth whitened and then he would be perfect ... okay in my eyes, LOL. He is extremely intelligent, he attended Vassar for 2 years and I believe that he has an English degree, as well as others. He is almost a self-admitted ex-junkie and in some of the interviews he was extremely apologetic for what he put his first wife through.

I find him to be very sexy and not quite sure why. So, my girls have the Twilight guys to drool over and I have Tony Bourdain! LOL

They did a whole day of going over the trial and testimony on HLN today. Just wondered if anyone here buys the defense story that the child drowned in the pool but because Casey was sexually abused by her father she showed no emotion and did not report it. When I heard the verdict, like almost everyone else in the US I was floored. It made me question the whole trial by jury, the validity of the judicial system and whether or not a person will ever be held accountable for this crime. This trial has just been going on too long. As with so many sensationalized things these days (too much in my opinion) it is just going on and on and on too long, with the hopes that a reasonable doubt is created on the part of the defense. Following this trial and listening to commentary there is very little doubt it seems that Casey Anthony murdered her child and disposed of the body. I think a lot of the bias is because she is a pathologic liar. Aside from the lying can anyone take a leap and think she may not be guilty of murder or that the state is not proving it beyond a reasonable doubt? Do you all think that 12 people who got to together to sit in on this case could all be idiots? I think maybe they didn't deliberate and came to a rash decision based on the fact they had been sequestered for so long and wanted to get home. I have followed this case since this child first went missing. Honestly I could not have been a juror as I feel that this girl is guilty, have for a very long time. The fake nanny, fake friends, fake job, fake trips to the beach, child missing for goodness knows how long and the mom is out partying and having a good time, how could she do it? I'm biased because I despise both Baez and Casey Anthony but I say she will be found guilty within 48 hours of deliberation and given life imprisonment.
