You know, if the public was even half aware of all of the things that this and past govts are trying to "cover up," there would have been a revolution/civil war a long time ago, and they know it, or they wouldn't be trying so hard to keep things covered up. Truth always finds its way into the light...eventually.

Petraeus had been cleared of all criminal wrongdoing by the FBI before we ever heard of it, and the question now is why it wasn't kept private. It's becoming clear that two generals engaged in unworthy behavior and are being taken down by the hair-pulling behavior of a couple of women they should never have allowed so close to them. A shame, but whoopie. Where people are, these things happen.

[ In Reply To ..]The real issue is turning out to be the behavior of the FBI, and secondarily the CIA. It's looking like the FBI used this to take out the CIA director, the why not established yet, maybe just because it could.
It's seeming like the FBI may have made 2 BIG mistakes. One, getting caught at it. Petraeus was VERY well liked and admired by the press and Washington and military bigwigs.
Two, the FBI failed in its basic mandate to report its activities to its congressional oversight committee--which exists to keep an eye on it, to the Senate Intelligence Committee, and to its boss, the President. So the Senate, the House, and the White House are also NOT happy with the FBI. Nor the CIA or the military, of course.
I've already had more than enough of the incredibly stupid little soap opera down in Tampa, with the shabby rivalry of a pair of hot little military groupies, distinguished dickheads caught trying to pull their zippers up, and silly FBI agents who think they look buff without their shirts. But THIS should be interesting to watch play out.
