something much, much bigger than a 4-year term to protect here.
Governments that fall are usually destroyed by attack from within. It can happen here. Just look at this forum. If it came to it, how many of us would take to the streets to protect our federal government (me!) and how many to destroy it? (You because you don't like the guy voted by a large majority of citizens?) And how many would just sit on their fingers and wait to find out what happened?
Those that follow Ron Paul are willing to destroy our government from within - backwards typist

Don't get me wrong...RP had some halfway decent ideas but...and it's a big but...he has been going about it all wrong.
I, for one, am so glad he is retiring but he has set the plan in motion and those who are still following him are bound and determined to see his ideas come to fruition, including voting for him for president!
Where will that leave everyone? With 4 more years of the power mongers. We can't afford it.

Some of the things I've read and heard out of the mouths of some of these politicians scary the living he!! out of me, and I'm not just talking about one party.
Don't forget, the communist and socialist parties are still waiting in line to get a foot in the door. Splitting votes at this time spells more disaster for our country.
I, for one, am going to vote for the lesser of two evils, whoever that may be and I'll do it by researching BOTH present and future plans for our country.
Communist and Socialist Parties - mbmt
[ In Reply To ..]
Why do you think they are trying to get a foot in the door? Actually, there are very few Communists left in the world and I really do not think they pose a threat to this country.
Better start doing a few searches on the Communist and Socialist Parties - backwards typist
[ In Reply To ..]
As long as they're around, and especially with the way this country is going, protests, etc., it would be very easy for them to get some converts.
You do believe in the Anarchists, don't you? They started out as a tiny group. Look at them now. They have infiltrated a lot of protest groups...and they continue to grow as long as there is unrest and DIVISION between the classes and/or races.
You can talk to the poster you're responding to - until you are out of breath
[ In Reply To ..]
and all you'll get from that conversation is short winded. People would benefit themselves if they actually cracked a book and read what communists/socialists are all about and what they have repeatedly stated they want to do to America. Sad thing now is they got the help of the Prez, who is one of them. Gotta realize that 99.9% of the people on this board are completely history stupid, yet they post as if they have the inside track on every country, every regime, every thought the King of Kenya has.
How can you say 99.9% on the board are - completely history-stupid

And expect good conversation to sprout from such acidic words?
If this board is really below your level of intellect, just go to a more appropriate one. Why stay and spew insults at everyone (or at least 99.9% of us)?

And the fact that you're engaging someone who uses the moniker "old timer" in an obnoxious tone just makes it look like you're being totally disrespectful. Sorry to be a little slow answering but I was reading up on the Communist site since it's been a year since I was there. Here's a little tidbit for you:
From the Communist party website:
We can also play a role in offering more advanced programmatic ideas like nationalizing the banks and socialism.
To have a positive impact, the CPUSA and YCL must be a part of the “Occupy” movement, participating at every level and building greater local support for the actions among labor and progressive forces.

[ In Reply To ..]
reporters are busy investigating. Just like the Justice Department. Unfortunately, since our main media are all profit-oriented these days, they won't report until they can all do it together, preferably backed up by government reports, and thus very safe from threats of litigation.
In the meantime, other things are happening. Like the Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted withdrawing from the True the Vote Summit, just today I think. That's because of all the stories of voter intimidation.
Just for anyone who hasn't thought of this, a GIANT sign of wrongdoing by an organization is flooding the internet with dozens of screening websites (carrying their message, of course) that push far down stuff they don't want people to read. Honest organizations do NOT do that. As soon as I googled True the Vote and saw they were trying to hide commentary on them, I knew they were up to no good.
Such a shame. I was an Election Protection volunteer at the polls for a couple of elections and know many of True the Vote's volunteers must have initially joined wanting to serve their country.

Did you ever notice that they can post the most vile, disgusting comments, dominate the board (and we all know that one), write stupid comments all night long and as soon as it's turned back no them...you get the "who, what; why are you saying those things" or the flat out personal attacks and Libs questioning someone's sanity - just scroll up a few entries. (Seems they need the psych visit). Seems there is more and more evidence that liberalism is a mental disorder. Expect them to actually fully reasearch any topic to discuss it intelligently, you may as well ask them to drive a stake in their forehead. Might be an idea....would let the gasbag deflate and remove the pressure. Hmmmmm
