Feinstein: Petraeus to testify on Benghazi attacks

The head of the Senate Intelligence Committee says former CIA Director David Petraeus has agreed to testify to Congress about the Sept. 11 attacks on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, that killed the U.S. ambassador and three other Americans.

WASHINGTON —

The head of the Senate Intelligence Committee says former CIA Director David Petraeus has agreed to testify to Congress about the Sept. 11 attacks on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, that killed the U.S. ambassador and three other Americans.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., said Wednesday that Petraeus, who resigned from the CIA post on Friday because of an extra-marital affair, indicated his willingness to testify.

"He is very willing and interested in talking to the committee," she said. No date for his testimony has been set.

Feinstein has been among those in Congress who have complained that lawmakers should have been notified about an FBI investigation that led to the disclosure of Petraeus' affair with his biographer, Paula Broadwell.

But she said that Petraeus' testimony to her committee will be limited to the Benghazi attacks that killed U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three others. Petraeus was CIA director at the time of the attacks and visited Libya afterward.

Are the two "dislikers" afraid of the truth? Don't like Feinstein? She's the head of the Intelligence Committee and has a right to know what happened.

Strange. Not gonna stop me from posting truthful articles though, so anyone who dislikes my articles is wasting their time.

Have a nice evening.

That would be Yes, yes, and yes.

Yes, they don't like the truth.

Yes, they don't like Feinstein if she stands up for what is right and it goes against their precious O.

Yes, it's strange. ;-)

And yes, one thing you forgot. You signed your usual moniker. LOL

Don't stop posting the articles. Love all your posts.

.....get over this!! Concern about the "Dislikes" on one's posts are pointless. I'm done trying to guess why someone has "disliked" a post I made, and I would suggest you should, too. It can mean so many different things--I think "dislike" is a misnomer, as it can merely mean "I disagree" (with either your point or the article you linked), "I dislike the situation" you're posting about, or whatever!!! Try to get over being offended or defensive when people dislike your post or your link. Sometimes, it's nothing personal. :-)

I would "get over it" if I knew why everything I post - backwards typist

gets dislikes. I post these articles to try to get discussions going, yet most are just drive-by dislikes. No reason given. I'm far from offended from the dislikes.

What is wrong with wanting to know why they disagree with the post? It's a waste of their time, not mine.
Maybe it's your proclaimed judge, jury and executioner prejudicial stance - on this subject

from numerous previous posts that makes posters, otherwise interested in an objective discussion on this topic, refuse to feed into what they perceive to be an effort to instigate an outpouring of scandal-mongering. What I liked about your OP was that, for the first time in a long, long time, you posted an article minus all the emphatic highlighting, bolding and negative, opinionated editorial comments in support of foregone conclusions. I believe the once burned, twice shy axiom applies to this situation.

Numerous posters have pointed out their desire to reserve judgment on Benghazi until the results of ALL investigations are in. They are not waiting breathlessly for the congressional witch hunt to turn up some isolated piece of information they can take out of context and exploit in ways that advance winger agendas to turn Benghazi into some wildly speculative body of evidence they are trying to gin up into grounds for impeachment.

PS. Not interested in arguing about how wrong you think my opinion is. It's an opinion I put out there in response to a direct question. You are not in charge of dictating to other posters why they dislike your posts. It is what it is. Moving on now from preoccupation with your personal angst over the dislike button as I have personally grown VERY weary of interacting with right-wing gloom-and-doom negativity.
Thanks for your answer. - backwards typist

I highlight some passages in some articles because some posters obviously do not read whatever I post. The highlighting draws attention to them. I'm not being judge, jury, or executioner of the article. Evidently, some posters assume my intentions. I do not preach doom-and-gloom negativity. I do sometimes post articles that may contradict another poster's articles. This is part of discussion, is it not?

I'm not arguing about how wrong your opinion is and I'm not dictating anything to anyone. I have opinions as do you, but try to stay neutral on each subject until I research that subject. What is so wrong with stating my opinion after that?

I never called anyone a nasty name. I have told some posters to wake up and read a law, read a report from a government agency or neutral newspaper, or stop being blind to one side, etc. I state this because I want others to realize that there's more to the 'net than newspapers that blame one side or the other.

I do not have angst over the dislike button either. I stated that in my post. I just want to discuss the issues of the day, but it just seems like the effort is too much for some.

Again, that's for your answer. I appreciate it.
This initial post was just fine to me, BT--straight information. :) - Dislikers may have just presumed scandalmongering,

though, since what you posted was honest. I certainly didn't "dislike" it, BTW, and I did check the link to see what source was being used.

I hope that with more like this you'll see a lot fewer "dislikes" and we'll all hve a lot more discussion of differing valid opinions.

As for the knee-jerks on scandalmongering, not everything the U.S. does, every incompetent action, or every mistake made under a Democratic administration is a scandal, and with close to 20 years of phony-gates dragging our national dialogue in the gutter, they're more than just tiresome. Probably a fair number are so young that they don't remember a country when this shabby, counterproductive business wasn't a standard political tactic. For those, we really need to stop.

Of course, now we should just wait to see what the investigation turns up, but what happens at this point is of interest. The question is, will the whole thing turn out to justify its blown-up importance or just be another of many thousands of annual events in the life of a giant nation? A dem.

...we had a rookie teacher who wrote the word SNOT in big capital letters on the blackboard, and told us that this was the most disgusting word in the English language, that he could. not. stand. it and he didn't want to ever hear it ever.

Guess what happened?

(Years later, I wondered if it was some kind of social experiment. Either way, I've never heard "snot" worked into more conversations and questions in my life.)

Point is, never let your perceived enemy know where your weak points are. Rookie mistake. And for someone who isn't concerned about it, you do bring it up an awful, awful lot.

Ham Q's....need To Know By Tomorrow! S/mDec 30, 2011
Hello all, I have people coming over to my house tomorrow (Sat) at 5 p.m.  I am planning to serve ham, sliced up for sandwiches. It is currently defrosted in my fridge as of today. It is a 10-12 pound half ham, not precooked or spiral sliced (I think.) Here are my questions: Can I cook it in my Nesco roaster instead of the oven? (Never used a Nesco before, have a 6-qt one still in the box!) If yes, how long do I cook it for and what goes in with the ham besides water? (I tried looking o ...
