Still some undecideds, which, I find completely reasonable at this point in the process. There are a lot of people who won't get involved for a while. I have to emphasize to them that the primary is important this time and that is the reason we are canvassing. Of course, the message is the same. When we get him on the ticket, he will need the votes in the general election too, but this is about the primary.
I did have one that absolutely had never heard of Bernie Sanders. It was sort of weird having a completely uninformed conversation. Sort of like I could have been introducing a city councili person or something. Very weird to say to someone, he is running for election to the highest position in the country ... and you have never heard of him. Well, she has now! (middle-aged, low middle income) interesting.
The positives were extremely positive. I had 2 completely unrelated who answered their doors, realized who we were and said "hell yeah!" There were many positives, a few want to volunteer. The enthusiasm is over the top on this one. All in all, everyone was either a "yes" or pretty much leaning towards him or undecided (just haven't really thought about it). One of our other canvassers got a "Rand" and a door slam, so the dark side is out there, but not much of it, that we have found so far. Onward next weekend.
