People continue to lose their jobs and jobs continue to go overseas, and

People continue to lose their homes, foreclosures continue to increase with 3.9 million people going into default, and

People continue to go hungry, and

Taxes continue to rise, and

The optimism people had with the newly elected in 11/08 continues to fizzle away, and his approval ratings continue to drop, and

People continue to be refused loans or money they need for their business, and

People's credit card limits continued to be cut, hence increasing the percentage ratio of money they now owe, hence their credit rating is now crap, and

The banks and large corporations continue to give themselves huge bonuses, and

Stock market continues to be manipulated, and

Congress continues to show they don't really care about the American people, and

The white house, congress, senate, etc continue to show off their opulence while showing they could care less that the American people are suffering, and

The climate fraud summit continues in Copenhagen, while it's a known fact that it's a fraud, and

Iran continues to build their nuclear program, and

and....

and....

and, the last and...

The dollar may have risen, but what goes up will also come down.

Too many and's, and nothing positive happening in the country (or world for that matter).

We missed the big depression, but no one seems to remember the big black hole we were headed for by the end of last year. I wonder why that is.

Personally, I'm not impacted by the "bad" economy. Gas prices are way down, both for my car and for my house. My dollar is going a lot further than it did last year.

Even though I am making less money this year (can you say "ASR"?), I have found that things have come down. Some grocery prices seem to be going up, but some things have actually come down -- like milk -- especially organic -- and other organic items. I have found I've gotten way better deals Christmas shopping this year and my dollar is definitely going farther. Yes, a recession,but not a depression -- be grateful that we're not standing in line for bread!

I find that "vulture" attitude sometimes on this board so tedious and somewhat comical. I have never in one place seen such glee over any possible mistake (real or fabricated)that our president might make. We are all in this together, for better or worse. Negativity breeds negativity -- how's that workin' for ya?

I think some are so blinded that they believe as everything continues to get worse and worse they somehow continue to blame it on Bush when the truth of the matter is he is long gone and now all the troubles the country is in is all in the hands of the current admin.

That's nice you are not impacted. How lovely that must be, but millions and millions of people are impacted. There are people who continue to lose their jobs every day. I keep reading 10K laid off here, 6K there. All over the country people are losing their jobs. And no, it's been a year. The continuation of rising unemployment is not his fault anymore. People are continuing to lose their homes. This also is not the fault of someone who has been gone for a year now. Gas prices sure have not gone down here on the west coast, nor on the east coast, nor in the southwest. Gas is getting more expensive and my heating costs for my house is on the rise, as is all over the country. The dollar sure is not going further here on the west coast, east coast or south. My groceries are costing me more, gas is more, bills are more, everything is more as is all over the country. And no cost are rising everywhere but we certainly are not blaming it on a man who has been out of office for a year. It is the current admins fault for the state of the economy.

There are some people (a lot I could name on this board) who think it's okay. The ones who continue to praise "The O" while blaming everything on Bush. All present and future problems they will always be blamed on Bush. Something hasn't happened yet, well if it goes wrong their answer is to blame Bush. I get so sick of reading that here.

It is unfortunate to see the current admin stripping America of what the country was founded on, turning it very rapidly into a socialist country. Following the path of Chavez and all the other dictators (present and past). While those countries continue to warn us not to do it, this administration doesn't listen (because they are on the top and they will benefit from it).

Unfortunately a lot of people (including some on this board) are perfectly happy that it's going that way, as long as "their guy" is in the seat. If it was a republican they'd be screaming bloody murder demanding justice for the same things they are supporting under the fascist regime we are under now.

What is happening in this administration is truly disgusting. They threaten people if they don't vote their way with their words of "Don't think we're not keeping score brother" and vote this way or else. People who are not voting for what they want are being called into "private meetings" or getting huge million dollar payoffs to vote their way. The left has distanced themselves so far from being honest and doing what is best for the country. They just do what is best for them. They do not include members of the senate who are republican in meetings that they should be included in. They are trying to run it as though they are the only ones whose vote matters. It is so corrupt and they continue on not caring that America knows how corrupt it is. Now we here rumblings that they are going to pass certain bills whether or not they have all the votes, and I read that they are passing things at 1:00 a.m. Corrupt is too mild of a word, but what is even more disgusting is all the people who think that's okay and only because it's the democrats doing it. Put the shoe on the other foot and they'd be screaming bloody murder.
